I just leave the flowers in the plastic pot and just place in the larger decorative pot. I then remove the hangers and presto, done! Of course the pot can't be too large/deep for this but the size pot they show is what I use.

Your plants might do better with a larger amount of soil throughout the season, but we are glad you have found an easy solution!

Can you just set the container in the pot? Does it need to be removed?

+Fitness Fanatic~ You can do that for a week or so, but after that the container will last much longer if you give the roots fresh soil and room to grow. At the time you buy a hanging basket combination, there is a good chance the plants are root bound, and do not have a way to grow. If you do keep it in the container, even if just short term be sure to water each day. Root bound containers do not have the soil they need to absorb water, so most of it just runs out.

      Also buy... soil moist.
. A product that is crystals that absorb water... it will keep the soil aerated when mixed with potting soil... Keep the plant from suffering from lack of water...and also keep it from getting water logged...and don't just set pot in planter...it will over heat and die

Do the roots have to be totally covered after you remove it from the hanging basket? I transferred a red white and blue hanging basket to a cute wooden Amish made wheelbarrow my son bought me but the wheelbarrow isn't deep enough. Help! Thank you.

Unfortunately you need to definitely cover the roots, and put the plant(s) in a container with extra soil. The extra soil will allow for the roots to grow in order to support the plant, and will also hold water as needed. Root bound plants are not happy plants.

Hi! I did this with my lots this year but one of them is pretty flat and not doing good. Should I just wait and it will rebound. What should I do?

Full sun, consistent watering and the use of high quality water soluble plant food is the secret. If branches are long and without blooms trim them back, and then be patient, the plant should rebound nicely. You can also send us a picture on our Feedback site if that is of interest, www.provenwinners.com/feedback
