    I love hearing positive feedback from people who relocate to Myrtle, I’ve talked to a lot of locals and you always hear nothing but the best… Looking forward to retiring there myself in about 4 years.

    I am in such anxiety about moving to Myrtle Beach, missing my friends and family, and having more cultural resources, but I can't afford to stay where I am! I appreciate your sharing very much.

    Cons: traffic, heat, humidity, tourists, parking fees, horrible, HORRIBLE drivers, pollen season.
    Pros: Beach, great weather(yes i know hurricanes), palm/palmetto trees. Lots of things to do around the area outside of myrtle, many places with great food. Open carry state.
    No regrets moving here. Would we move back to pa? Heck no!
    Thanks for sharing Carmen and Brian

      Funny the pollen here is better than where we moved from in NC. There were tons of huge trees everywhere there so it was really bad. Glad you have no regrets like us! :)

    • @brianj9262
      @brianj9262 ปีที่แล้ว

      @CarmenandBrian but then again we live in Conway. I think the pollen is worse and the heat & humidity is just as bad. The pollen was not bad this year. I swear our next car will be yellow, lol

      Yes I can see that - lots of big trees in Conway! We hike out in the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge sometimes near Conway.

    very cool on the video, pro's and cons. nice to share that with folks. something to share with folks maybe is are you both still working, or are you retired? sometimes that makes a huge difference to people coming to the area. if you have jobs that you can work from home or remote, makes a huge difference, jobs in the area are tough i believe, depending on what you do. its so funny how i read people move to south carolina or to the beach and don't do some homework first about things, as you stated. doctors, insurance, etc. then they can't find jobs if still working, then move back home, or can't make it there. it is paradise there, but you have to no what is good for you and your family. but so great that your willing to share all that with your fans. keep up the good work. enjoy your videos. venture up to NMB more, please lol

    You didn't mention the low property taxes. Once you have lived for a full calendar year, you get rebates for tourist tax and you pay no school tax. For seniors you can get a homestead exemption and a military exemption that further reduces taxes. This combined took a $3500 tax bill down to $1000 (living within Myrtle Beach city limits).

    • @CarmenandBrian

      There are FEMA maps that can help you find out if what you are looking at is in a flood zone and your realtor should be able to advise you as well. There can be flood zones within a neighborhood while other parts of it aren't a flood zone so it's really important to look at those maps. Good luck!
