- After waving a sad goodbye to my Fiat Brava, the search was on to find a luxury dependable saloon that isn't too precious that it can't be used everyday.
Here we have a high mileage yet well cared for Lexus is200.
Can I film your car?

Had one of these back in the days, great cars! Watch out for rust on the sills and rear boot pockets
I'll check the rear boot pockets, sills have been welded and treated👌
I love how you post this just as I’ve returned from somewhere full of Lexuses. Definitely looking forward to all the content with this car.
Hopefully I’ll get to FOTU this year. I was all set last year but then my Fiesta decided to keep blowing up.
I hope to see you there come say hello
yes matty! i recently bought myself a 2000 ls430, im happy to see you join the lexus crew!
I'm very happy to call myself a Lexus owner
Congrats, it's a really cool car!
I agree!
Love seeing these. I had a is300 with the 2jz as my second car. Purchased her with about 110k miles, and daily drove it until 170 and then it got rear ended. Not sure where its at now but hopefully restored or a drift build
Lovely car mate
Thanks mate. Buy one!
Nice one, the Focus mk1 is fantastic. I have recently bought a Ghia saloon to go with my 205( that you drove a few years ago). I'm taking it to the FOTU see you there.
A MK1 Focus saloon, there's a bit of an anomaly! See you at FOTU
welcome to the club. shes missing a turbo :D
You might be right
lexus is why i subscribed
I'll try keep em coming
My brother had one of these, I think they are a straight 6 engine? I think i know what you mean about the snow button, it does nowt. I can remember pushing it when it snowed cos it wouldn't grip, unless he was too tight to put decent tyres on.
Straight 6 engine is right. Immense fun with it being rear wheel drive too. I pressed snow mode and engaged low range and was still stuck earlier this year. Had to walk to work
Not bad. I considered one.
as with you i found that snow mode in actual snow is quite useless but what it is good for is slightly better mpg
How is it good for better MPG? Doesn't it extend the the gear changes so higher revs for longer?
@@MattysCars my understanding was that it reduces the ammount of fuel being pumped into the engine therefore resulting in better mpg, especially in city driving, but you may also be right about the extended gear changes.
Partridge would be proud. Nice car Matty - shame it’s not ULEZ but no-one wants to go there these days anyway.
You may be surprised with where I take this car👀 The Brava was brilliant for going up and down to London, no ulez!
I had my 02 IS300 for 14 years until I finally sold it last month with 110k on it
I would give more praise for finding a manual, still a nice car though.
I wanted an automatic but I've heard the manual is200s are a bit notchy
great car,i owned one for 7 yrs, never missed a beat, just oil and a cambelt, weak points are they leak...
Mines got a bit of an oil leak like cambelt was done 10K miles ago for the second time so I'm hoping I'll be ok
I Was waiting to see da engine bay😢
You must have fell asleep by 13:00 then🤣
The Japanese Mercedes.
But so much better!
