Always love when Quinton just can't stop playing and Paul just has to sit there and let the instrument sell itself. This one is amazing for both sound and looks.
In my experience,Koa is the slowest tonewood to mellow and open up. Obviously this instrument sounds fantastic already. But in ten years it'll be just that little bit sweeter. The best sounding J200 I've ever played was Koa back and sides. Absolutely gorgeous tone.
One like that is £7000 to order in the UK. I bought a Hummingbird Custom Quilt a few years back the only one I could find anywhere in the UK. It's absolutely beautiful and sounds amazing. Love your shop and visited it in 2004 when I had a tour of the Gibson factory ended up buying a J200 from you. Keep up the great demos !! really enjoy them.
Omg. I really don't care much about looks. But sound! This is absolutely one of the best sounding guitars you presented. Just went back to compare with both Hummingbirds and Martin D28... Martin is unique but not that nice sounding... Hummingbirds are 'nothing' comparing to this custom Koa model. It's just a beast!
It's really awesome to see Gibson experimenting a different tonewoods and it would be nice to see this trickle down through some of the other models. I love this guitars balance and tonal range. To the point of rosewood, although it might not be one of their flagships, the Gibson Songwriter sports an amazing sound with its Rosewood back and sides. I think if Gibson starts adding a little bit more of this to their lineup they're definitely in good standing to give out some healthy competition.
Yeah I torn about this. I love everything about it. But I’m a Martin guy. I can’t help think of the authentic build I can get at this price. BUT..that said this is calling my name big time. Sounds great and looks great. Sometimes we just need to base decisions on the outcome. Not the ingredients
Hi Quentin and Paul. So I have a question. I went through a period where I had a hard on so to speak to get a hummingbird. I played a new one at a guitar store and really liked the tone. I was getting ready to buy one and found a 1967 hummingbird available. I made the drive up there to try it, but I took along my 1976 Mossman Great plains to compare it to. Not sure if you know about mosman guitars but they are very comparable to Martin's. And actually a very reasonably priced. Anyway, I played the two of them side by side and the hummingbird was no match for the tone of the Mossman and I gave up my quest to own one. So my question is, why would anyone want to own a hummingbird when they can buy a D-28 or similar. And please don't misunderstand me I don't wish to disrespect Gibson or hummingbirds. They sound great. But I am wondering about your take on the matter. Thanks again for all these videos. They are really cool!
Nice guitar for sure. But a decade or two ago in Gibson decided to double and triple the prices of their guitars, they’ve gotten to the ridiculous point. Why should $75 more worth of wood cost upwards of $8000 for an acoustic guitar? I personally think it’s ridiculous. Does it sound good? Yes. Does it sound better than a $2000 Martin? No it does not. Does it sound better than a $2000 Rainsong carbon fiber? No it does not. I could maybe understand $3500. Maybe. But seven to $8000 it’s ridiculous and people just need to stop buying these till they come to their senses

The best Gibson I've ever heard.
That's a beauty all right! I bought a Koa Hummingbird in 2012 and she still sounds amazing.

Man. Quinton is a phenomenal guitar player!!!

I love the standard hummingbird...this is artwork!
I’m not normally a fan of dreadnoughts or ornate guitars. However, this one is absolutely beautiful and it sounds amazing.
Interesting seeing as how Im a huge dreadnought fan
Beautiful! Just beautiful (in every way). 😎
Pretty guitar and it sounds amazing too! Thanks for the video Quinton and Paul 👍
Wow that sounds great!
Definitely a beauty. She sounds wonderful and should sound sweeter once the top opens up more.
Be careful, Paul is watching! Lol. Quentin, you always bring out the best in each guitar that you play!
What a beautiful guitar. And it just sounds great.
Wow, I really enjoyed that one. Thanks for sharing it.

Amazing sounding Gibson
Nice voicing of the guitar. The low end will get sweeter as it is played. Hmmm. Thanks Quinton and Paul.
Always great to see you fellas!
Great guitar. In all aspects. Tone, looks, uniqueness.

YesAndYes😎
No electronics ?
Do you can ship to mexico?
Quanto ❤
This thing sounds great. I don't even want to know the price tag.
I hope the pickguard isn’t gawd awful thick sound robbing…They could make it thinner.
I’m with Quinton, keep the bling . I’m all about the sound and playability.

Why does anyone choose a Camaro Z28 over a Mustang GT? I can’t understand this! Who would buy a Camaro when they can have a Mustang…(or vice versa)?
Different tone woods and Martin guitarist tend to be more boomy while Gibsons I’d say are more mid focused and Taylor’s being in the highs
I like the Dove sibling of this series better. It is a gorgeous guitar. DonMt get distracted by all the bling.
For 9000 dollars it better be good..jeeeeez I better pick up a second job I guess.
Just terrible! That i cant get it...
I don't care for the sound of koa wood. The sound is balanced, but still a little to bright for me, and also quite expensive.
