A Stranger I Remain (Avec L'Amour Mix)

- It's fine, I checked my grammar with actual people who live in France. This is correct. So let's change it back.
My recent hospitalization did have one positive outcome to it (besides bettering my long-term health, of course): I came home from school for around a week's time to recover. That left me plenty of time to work on this mix - or more accurately, get inspiration to make this mix on the last day of my mini-vacation and edit it together in a matter of a couple hours. xD
For this mix, I combined my new-found love for boss intros with the Instrumental, Maniac Agenda, and Original/Demo mixes of this track. Mistral's cut-scene intro theme had some sound effects in the soundtrack version that I couldn't extract, so instead, I played around with the video a bit for your entertainment. Otherwise, the mix is fairly standard, though it was surprisingly complex to piece together in comparison to something like The Only Thing I Know for Real. Well played, Mistral.
There are a few transitions that I think could be better, but overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how this one turned out. It's crazy to think that I only have a couple more mixes left before I have something for every boss in the game. I honestly didn't think I was gonna get anywhere near to this sort of collection when I started, that's for sure. O.o
"A Stranger I Remain" and "Mistral, The Cold Wind of France" were composed by Jamie Christopherson, as a part of the OST for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". I claim no ownership of the original works, but I do claim responsibility for mixing these two together to create the final product that you're listening to.

Every Desperado member that Raiden defeats helps him find his true self: Solidus tried to turn him into a perfect killer that would further his ambitions, The Patriots tried to turn him into another Solid Snake that they could control, but Solid Snake nipped that in the bud, Unsure of his true purpose, he adopted Solid Snake's "tool of justice" philosophy, but after meeting and defeating the members of Desperado, Raiden now knows who he truly he is: He's still a killer but unlike when he was Jack the Ripper, he doesn't kill for pleasure and he doesn't kill for anyone else's ambitions. Like Solid Snake, he kills so others won't have to; he soils his own hands with blood so that the ones who responsible for building the world anew free from the patriots' influence can still have clean hands ("One Blade keeps another in the Sheath"). So any asshat who wants to cause chaos and wreak havoc, better keep their eyes peeled for lightning. If it's innocents they wish to attack, they better watch out cause "Jack is Back"!!!

Most of the themes can also be applied to Raiden himself. Which is one of my favorite aspects of Rising's whole OST.

@CryBaby 222 yes me too I replayed the mission but I didn't have the intention to slash her to pieces in blade mode but Raiden cut her in half anyway. In all cases, she would have been dead.

@@adnane182 there's a trick to keeping Mistral and Sundowner (mostly) intact: either use the wooden sword or only slice off a small part, the final blow doesn't do anything if you have already chopped off a part of them regardless of size.

Glad you caught that! I've gotten into a habit of having beats like that (ones that are close to transitions) work in strings of two; it seems to sound better than just one most of the time for me. Wasn't sure if anyone'd notice, though, lol.

I just realized how stupid my above post actually is. I checked the levels on the mix again just out of curiosity, and I noticed that the Instrumental version of the song always had that particular line of percussion in it. I didn't edit that portion at all.

I can't be the only one who thought she had the best fight of the winds of destruction. If it isn't her then it's Sundowner, I just more like the situation and music with Mistral, Sundowner and Monsoon are good but this one I just found better.
***** Yeah all of the winds of destruction's have really good fights, but that all depends on how you look at them. I like Mistral a lot because of how much the fight area changes. Sundowner seemed like the big villain early on and his fights fairly climactic, better than some final bosses. Monsoon is just fun to fight with me.

So it took me longer to realize this than it should have: You took the piano out of the mid-section when the vocals first come in. Kinda miffed at first, until I heard how much more furious the song actually sounds without it. Nice trick for adding contrast. :)
NickNiccelson Yep, the original version of this track actually doesn't have the piano in that section of the song. It was a little jarring for me as well when I first mixed it, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it, so it made it into the final cut. :)

Man everyone really loves this game XD One of my friends got it for PC, and he wouldnt stop chopping things into too many pieces. I literally told him to stop during a boss fight (with some magnetic limbs dude) and he said "NO, IM GOING FOR 500 PIECES!!!" He got to 500 something, but then the APC he was slashing disappeared; but left the explosion. For about 30 seconds his game dropped to 1 FPS and the explosion stayed on screen. I also need to catch you on Showdown :D I DEMAND SATISFACTION *once I find a replacement for stall Chansey.....she's too OP for UU and everyone thinks she needs to be buffed to at least OU (screw Borderline 1)*

Florges is evil.....ill probably find another UU pokemon to make as a wall. My team is rediculously themed around bulk, so they can all USUALLY take one or 2 hits before going down, even against buffed enemies.

Okay, I swear in not crazy so there's this song in a movie called "Scott pilgrim vs the world" some blond chick sings it. The first like 30 seconds of this mix match the first bit of this song. I kinda wish she made more use of her arms in game though. She doesn't really do anything with them. She wields L'etranger the same way Raiden does with just two arms.
I think she uses them to make the whip like projectiles that she throws at you on the beginning of third phase and to also make another polearm if you destroyed it but left the arms intact.
