FILM DESCRIPTION:
Jeff Bridges plays Jeff Lebowski who insists on being called "the Dude," a laid-back, easygoing burnout who happens to have the same name as a millionaire whose wife owes a lot of dangerous people a whole bunch of money -- resulting in the Dude having his rug soiled, sending him spiraling into the Los Angeles underworld.

Director: "OK this is the only scene you are in the movie and you say nothing while having sort of "I don't care & I'm bored" expression throughout the scene.

One of the real comic elements of this memorable scene is that they are so cut off from reality that they never ask themselves how a 15-year-old (i.e. without a driving license) can buy a brand new Corvette, and pay a large sum in cash!! In France, any car dealer would have called the police to report very probable money laundering!
This scene is just comedy perfection. It gets funnier every time I see it.
This movie is an undisputed comedic masterpiece. It's timeless, just like Monty Python: The Search For The Holy Grail.

I think of what most people would say is their fave comedy film, probably something with Adam Sandler or will ferrell, as much as I do enjoy some of that stuff, it's nowhere near in the same league as this film, it is pure comedic genius which stands the test of time and hopefully one day will be recognised in the mainstream as one of the greatest movies ever made

@@manonthestreet1703 Totally agree. Sandler movies are decent, especially Happy Gilmore, it's a classic. Ferrell also made great comedies, such as Anchorman and Step Brothers. All of these movies are classics. But, you're right, they just don't quite measure up to this masterpiece.

Seen the movie countless of times, and yet, I've never noticed The Dude busting the door light on his way out -- till now.
This version seem to have a different look, a different filter of some sorts. Maybe that's the reason you noticed that now.

I noticed that Walther's Vietnam mentality is what kept getting the dude hurt but this scene captures that very well.

@@adamswitchblade7923 I had read that the kid actually did steal the car and went joyriding. I never believed it, because I thought that kid didn't look like he'd steal a car. But if you notice, he just stares at them. He doesn't say anything, but he definitely doesn't get emotional or scared either.

This movie is a gem of perfection , from the script to the direction to the best ensemble of actors who the cohen brothers could ever think of . All 4 of them ( Turturro is a giant in his short act) are complementary one to each other , and couldn’t possibly do better than what they did .
