- Going Over The Wall from "The Stars And Stripes Forever"
The story about a Marine going "over the wall" is taken from
John Philip Sousa's book, "Marching Along."
The incident is included in the movie to introduce the character
Private Willie Little.
There was no Private Little who invented the Sousaphone.
But it makes for a good Hollywood story!
And Mr. Sousa was Portuguese/American one of the great North American composers in its time
Love this movie!
What movie is this back when dress blues were the garrison uniform I’m nerding out rn
Wow, Number 2 looks so young, even younger than when he was played by Rob Lowe.
John phillip Sousa a marine who's marches if played near a graveyard would bring Marines out of their graves
I saw this movie Once I sure would like to see it again
Now that is a rather young Robert Wagner judging by the voice.
Robert Wagner was legend
The film was "The March King" ...in the UK.
1:39 "Who won?" Lol!
That's back when America WAS American!
yeah when we all recognized and utilized our differences instead of chastised each other for them. Sousa is a Portuguese American just so you know haha
@@samsmith2635 Yeah, Semper-Fi, Mac'
