Mr Gary Burr couldn’t have given this song to a better artist than Ty Herndon. My wife and I saw him recently in Laughlin, NV this past April and with all honesty out of any artist I have ever seen live and I’ve seen the biggest names. Ty is absolutely the best pure live voice I’ve ever witnessed and he sounds better in person than on the albums. If you have never seen him and you’re a fan put it on your bucket list. He’s also very personable and met with fans afterwards as well.
The remake with the gender change was clever and well-done. It just felt odd to me because I’m so used to the original, but yay for Ty for finally allowing himself to be who he is. Very courageous.
It makes me sad that this was Ty’s breakout hit, and was hiding who he was. I hope the writer appreciates the new version for what it means to Ty to be able to say “his eyes were blue ...”
Country music doesn't need to be pro-gay because you think it should be. And for the record Elton John and several other pop and rock homosexual singers sang about women too.

This song made me cry the first time I heard it. It's beautiful. It's a perfect piece.
It was cut again... Ty Herndon re released it last week! Still an amazing song!
James Bailey it’s a beautiful song....one of my favorites
He changed it up a bit, I’m glad he got to sing it the way he wanted to in the re-release
@@sandwich9666 I thought it sounded better the way it was done originally.

@@aeh3253 Not the point, wanker.
@@aeh3253 Singing about a man if you're Ty isnt being pro-gay. Its being authentic. Country music should be authentic.
I just heard Ty's new version of the song, still good.
That song DEFINITELY needs to be recorded again!!!
I agree, the original song.
With his line of questioning , he would be a great writer
