Bless your mom. At any age we get anxiety when our life is in disarray but I think as we get older we are worse when our lives are out of order. She’s constantly fighting the floods whether it’s in her physical daily living or it’s mentally always worrying or thinking of ways to prepare.
I know how G is feeling. As I've gotten older, any disruption of my routine causes anxiety. Hang in there sweet lady. It will all be worth it in the end.❤

I wouldn't like it either. Of course I live in Nebraska where it gets cold in the winters and those cold floors would,be hard in my legs. I wondered,about the rugs because I thought paw paw said those brand new area rugs were getting thrown away.

I have had a contractor and crew tearing apart my dining room for 1-1/2 weeks now and remodeling, in addition to a plumber and electrician here to put in my new bathroom vanity and toilet and put up ceiling fans and moving outlets. My nerves are shot dealing with the chaos and keeping five inside cats and two little inside dogs rounded up and out of the way. I totally understand Gigi feeling out of sorts. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it when it is done. Y'all are doing a great job! They are blessed to have wonderful children and grandchildren that are so helpful!
Good morning Kim! So glad you were able to help Gigi and PawPaw with this painting project. I’ve had a partially torn meniscus. With one steroid injection and physical therapy and continuing exercises it has healed. Prayers for you.💗🙏💗

Poor Gigi, the chaos at first is too overwhelming. I can't imagine trying to keep the little kids out of the way or out of the paint. They must mind well. The floors will look so nice when they are finished. Hope your knee isn't worse after being on the floor. I wouldn't be able to get up, even without a bad knee. 😊
Kim, I have had both of my knees replaced so I'm speaking from experience. I suggest you change your shoes from Sketchers. They don't support your feet and legs enough when you have knee issues. A very good shoe would be a New Balance shoe. That's what my Orthopedic doctor recommended and what I have worn ever since
Yes knees are so painful when they hurt. I have had one of my knees replaced and the other one done next week. I wish i had it done years ago and would have saved me struggling with pain

My 43 year old daughter ( special needs)doesn’t do good in bad weather. Don’t have anyone close to get to with roads flooded. I have family in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. On the next trip I can see doing a painted rug in there . With Pawpaw and the dogs it would have time to set. Btw, my guy is having a knee problem and it helps to give it a break for the brace unless you're doing something and may fall.

Hi Kim, i live alone, and I started decorating my bathroom and kitchen and still got the rest to do. we are the same age we were both born 1967 I'm Feb 1st and I have trouble hip problems and it hurts really bad moving around so I understand what u mean about your knee as my hips now are giving me knees problem aswell, I think pawpaw and gigi are to set in there ways to go on a break in hotel they want to help as much as they can bless them looking good though ❤❤❤
It would be ideal if Koda could stay with someone else while this is being done. Hard to contain kids and dogs to a room. Maybe dogs could stay in mancave or outdoor kitchen. Kim, has anyone suggested a cayenne pepper wrap for your knee? Just take a few layers paper towel, put some oil (castor or olive oil) then sprinkle cayenne pepper on it and wrap that around your knee covered with Saran Wrap or press and seal wrap. The cayenne will increase blood supply to that area to heal.
Kim I found using a knee sleeve worked better for me than the knee brace, I have the same knee brace as you with the hole and it made my knee hurt more, try a sleeve.
Having both my knees replaced and 3 yrs later having a revision on one of them. Kim maybe it is time for a Ortho consult you work so hard your Mom and Dad woul be lost without you TK
Kim, keep your brace on when you are up and down and out walking, driving or working. You can take it off when you are watching tv or relaxing. Thats when if it’s hurting you can use hot and cold packs to help with pain, swelling or it hurts. Just saying from my own experience with tendinitis in my wrist and having blown out my knee almost 22 years ago, I was 40, carrying my 3 week old son upstairs. My knee still goes out everyone in the while. For me, the cold helps it. For others it would aggravate it. Just do what makes you feel right.
I so need to finish painting one room. I live in a mobile home, and I have painted. two panels. I still have the top of those .panels, but I have no help to.move things. My once broken leg plus this transverse myelitis cause me to have trouble. I hope it will get done before the end of the year.
Kim I was moving boxes too and my body turn be my knee popped and I had to get knee surgery it was in so much plain . Be careful with it. Your mom is so stressed 😫
Kim, if you haven’t had an MRI of your knee, I highly suggest it. You may have a tear in your ACL or Meniscus. I have a tear in both. And I were a big knee brace when up doing stuff. I have a compression strap above my knee, and below it, and then the knee brace. And I feel like the compression straps helps tremendously. ❤
@@kelbug1962 the tears hurt so bad. And I have a ganglion cyst on the nerve of the meniscus, so when I get to doing things, that cyst fills with fluid, pushes on that nerve and it will have me unable to use my leg until that swelling goes back down. I have found that using compression straps above my knee and below my knee, then putting the brace over them works best. I’m not sure why? But the compression helps with the pain to me. Not sure if it’s a mind trick or what. Lol One thing that I’m also worried about with Sister Kim is that my good knee started tearing up for over compensating for my bad knee. So it definitely needs to be checked before having both knees bad. @kelbug1962, I will be praying you get good results on your MRI! 🙏🏼❤️

I don't usually comment, but the description of knee pain you experienced while cooking the lunch is typical of a meniscal tear in your knee, you need to see an Orthopedic surgeon. Keep the knee sta ilized with the brace until appointment. It's easily fixed with an arthroscopic surgery.

Just take a few layers paper towel, put some oil (castor or olive oil) then sprinkle cayenne pepper on it and wrap that around your knee covered with Saran Wrap or press and seal wrap. The cayenne will increase blood supply to that area to heal.

Kim I found using a knee sleeve worked better for me than the knee brace, I have the same knee brace as you with the hole and it made my knee hurt more, try a sleeve.
Having both my knees replaced and 3 yrs later having a revision on one of them. Kim maybe it is time for a Ortho consult you work so hard your Mom and Dad woul be lost without you TK
Kim, keep your brace on when you are up and down and out walking, driving or working. You can take it off when you are watching tv or relaxing. Thats when if it’s hurting you can use hot and cold packs to help with pain, swelling or it hurts. Just saying from my own experience with tendinitis in my wrist and having blown out my knee almost 22 years ago, I was 40, carrying my 3 week old son upstairs. My knee still goes out everyone in the while. For me, the cold helps it. For others it would aggravate it. Just do what makes you feel right.

I so need to finish painting one room. I live in a mobile home, and I have painted. two panels. I still have the top of those .panels, but I have no help to.move things. My once broken leg plus this transverse myelitis cause me to have trouble. I hope it will get done before the end of the year.

Kim I was moving boxes too and my body turn be my knee popped and I had to get knee surgery it was in so much plain . Be careful with it.

Kim, if you haven’t had an MRI of your knee, I highly suggest it. You may have a tear in your ACL or Meniscus. I have a tear in both. And I were a big knee brace when up doing stuff. I have a compression strap above my knee, and below it, and then the knee brace. And I feel like the compression straps helps tremendously. ❤
Yep- I am getting an MRI- pretty sure I tore my meniscus again! Man, it hurts! Get your knee looked at, Sister Kim! Hope it feels better!❤
@@kelbug1962 the tears hurt so bad. And I have a ganglion cyst on the nerve of the meniscus, so when I get to doing things, that cyst fills with fluid, pushes on that nerve and it will have me unable to use my leg until that swelling goes back down. I have found that using compression straps above my knee and below my knee, then putting the brace over them works best. I’m not sure why? But the compression helps with the pain to me. Not sure if it’s a mind trick or what. Lol
One thing that I’m also worried about with Sister Kim is that my good knee started tearing up for over compensating for my bad knee. So it definitely needs to be checked before having both knees bad.

I don't usually comment, but the description of knee pain you experienced while cooking the lunch is typical of a meniscal tear in your knee, you need to see an Orthopedic surgeon. Keep the knee sta ilized with the brace until appointment. It's easily fixed with an arthroscopic surgery.
And physio would be a good idea as well
