When was it confirmed that John was in heaven cause the season after he dies that one dude who works at that hunter bar says an this dude is in heaven LOOKING FOR JOHN says he can’t be found
It's kind of pointless, I mean the show started off with the boys hunting down the thing that killed their mom and now she is back.. Imo this show should off ended seasons ago
Dean’s look of complete and utter disbelief when John tells them that he is legit proud of them hurts so much. In season 1 Dean only knew John wasn’t John BECAUSE of Azazel’s “im proud” line so John legit saying he loves them and is proud is absolutely emotionally jarring.
No. I believe Mary's reaction to Dean reaction, realizing that he never said those things to their boys. I think that's the most gut wrenching. That her death made him that way
The whole Dean realising it was Azazel and not his dad because he said his dad wouldn't say he was proud hit me hard as my dad never once said that to me. He died before I managed to hold a job and get a place of my own and got married. I'll never know if he would be proudand no matter how much family say he would be I'll never beleive it.
I think that disbelief in him being proud specifically came in him being so at Dean wasting the bullet (to the colt) on a demon that wasn't Azazel and they were then down to 1 or 2
@@AndyOfSpades It's not that he wasn't proud of them in the past. It's that he was too busy protecting them and teaching them how to fight and didn't want to soften them with words like that, as nice as it would have been for him to say that. Here when he realizes that they are able to fend for themselves and his job is done, he is finally able to say it. He knew that if he made them keep trying to earn his respect, they wouldn't get complacent. That's what he was afraid of all along.
@knightman718 I haven’t watched the show, only watched scenes, but Idk if it has to do with trying to prepare Sam and Dean or not be soft with them. I think it’s just that he was too focused on his hunting. And again, I haven’t watched more than scenes throughout each season so I could very well be mistaken.
@@BRB-ck3jr Well like I said, hunting was the only way he knew how to protect them because he knew what was out there and he didn't want what happened to his wife to happen to his children as well. What happened to Mary broke him and it's very apparent if you watch 2 particular episodes seen in seasons 4 & 5 where they show him before he became a hunter and how hopeful he was.
If you think about it Dean really loves his parents. The Darkness gave him back the thing he needed most which was his mom and as soon as Dean can wish for another thing his dad comes back. That's a really sweet sentiment.
The most underrated show of all time. From what it started as to what it turned into, just because it wasn't on a major network. Supernatural is a part of life.
The demon arc kinda make me down a bit, hunting ghost and monster hype this show for me, still remember lady in white that kinda scary moment compare to devil.
How do you go crazy and just say, ahh I'ma become a evil dictator of thousands of people and talk to a baseball bat as if it were a lady, and kill people with it because why the hell not
When John say "I'm so proud of you, boys"... WOW. That's pretty much what they wanted to hear for him. For all this time. JDM is such an amazing actor.
I like to think when he was transported to 2019, it aged him to present time rather than keeping him young. Since he would have been a handful of years older than the 2019 boys with his 2003 body.
7:38 Despite having argued with his father and always butting heads with him, I love that Sam still has the respect in him to say *"Yes sir"* when addressing him alongside Dean I finally finished the series and boy am I gonna miss it
Every time I see these eppies it beaks my heart all over again. I don't think John was a bad father; he was just doing the best he could in an impossible situation. Dean understood that. Sam did too, it just took him a lot longer to get there than it did Dean. Was John a deeply flawed individual? Yes, but aren't we all?
I don't like the show's romanticizing of John. John was abusive, emotionally and physically, and he traumatized his sons for life. Yes, I'm sure he thought he did the best he could, but he definitely wasn't a good father. Bobby basically adopted the boys and he also has a traumatic past, yet still was a hundred times the father that John ever was.

i love the scene where john hears marys voice the emotion is so strong. but also when john tells the boys he is proud of them look at sams face...hes been wanting to hear those words all his life
I can't decide what goodbye to John is Harder. 'My time of Dying' All Hell Breaks loose or ' Lebanon' 😭. J2 were obviously already good but I'm sure that first season with JDM is what made them 2 of the best Actors around. Can't learn from many better :)
I think "In My Time of Dying" simply because of how young and inexperienced the boys were in seeing people around them die, plus their particular guilt (Dean having an idea that a deal was made, and Sam wanting to pick a fight minutes before.) Lebanon at least they all get the proper closure, including John with Mary
I never got the chance to say goodbye to my dad before he died...every time I watch these scenes with Dean, Sam and John it makes me sad and cry every time...I miss him so much...he was my hero and it hurts so much that he’s not here with me...
When I told my dad I was scared of the monster in my closet he gave me a 45. That's the realest s*** I ever heard a father do for his son, great job John you are father of the year to me.
With gun violence in the US in mind this would be really fucked up if this show wasn't about supernatural beings and the high possibility that monster could be real.

This episode as much as anything else I've seen shows what a talented actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is. Everyone gives a really good preformance but imo he really shines.
These scenes are the reason why I watched SPN as long as I did. Not just the villains, monsters, etc but becuz these actors (and ofc the actresses esp the one who played their mom) made you really believe they were real. Making you root for them time and time again, no matter what they were up against in the show. Thank you to entire cast and crew of SPN, you have left a mark and a hole that may NEVER BE FILLED....AWESOME 👍🏾
I hope they have John and Mary return in a glimpse of their heaven with whichever son dies. And we see Bobby and Jo and Ellen and Charlie and so forth from this world in their own heaven. That would seriously be one of the best endings of such a beloved and wonderful show. Also, to see one of the Winchester brothers live and continue saving people or having an apple pie life. Depending on which Winchester because when you look at when Dean tried the apple pie life with Lisa and Ben, he was really trying, but wasn't truly happy. I think he would've been a little happier if he continued hunting with Castiel or Jack or both of them until he goes to his Heaven. That's if they have Dean live instead of Sam. But Sam Winchester seemed more happier at the apple pie life than Dean, still sad because Dean was in purgatory, but still. Or both could die and be in Heaven and in peace. It's what I hope for whenever they end the series.
03:05 - That's the moment that gets me every time (maybe 10 seconds before the actual moment). The look on his face. I personally haven't lost someone like John has, but I can guess. To truly grasp the feelings that John feels when he hears Mary... Compare it to someone you believed you'd never see again. Your mother, father, sibling, friend, pet, someone that deeply care about, someone you can't imagine living without, whose death would cause you to wanna die. Now imagine being without that person for decades, even the mere thought of the person is enough to put you to tears or you feel angry or both. Imagine hearing that person again, that realization that they are back, that you get to hold them in your arms. Now you have an idea of what John felt in that moment, why he looked like he was gonna explode into tears from hearing her voice. Now that you have a greater understanding of what he is feeling, watch the scene again, and you'll suddenly get a powerful feeling, like you're gonna explode into tears. I've seen that scene maybe 30 times now, I'm a grown man in my mid 30s, I'm not normally emotional, in fact a lot of times I'm a rock. But this scene makes me weep every single time. For the last episodes, THEY BETTER FUCKING BRING THE PARENTS BACK, the Winchester family deserves to be TRULY reunited, none of this temporary BS.
I was just a normal kid going about my life... and one day a fandom broke in and said “Dad’s on a hunting trip... and he hasn’t been home in a few days”... and that was it... now i follow the adventures of two idjits on the road in a ‘67 impala hunting all kinds of monsters...
Just think the last time these four were together was when Sam was infant, even when you involve going back in time John and Mary were only dating at that time. This was the only time all four was together to bad Adam wasn't apart of this but still its good to see them together and having a family moment.
Would have been nice to actually see John reconnect with Mary, the questions he must have had. But no just a kiss and that's literally their only interaction
I havent watch spn since season 10 so Im just catching up now. Seeing this... :'( Im literally crying right now. And I didnt know this was the time wher Mary was alive. Seeing them all together like that. It took so long!!! Im happy that I was able to see them together, but to see them become apart again. Im crying!
Lmbo I always loved that scene after they escaped the shadow monster because it was Dean who said that John couldn't stay with them but when John tells Sam "you gotta trust me" it kinda makes it seem like John's passing Dean's idea off as his own. This was the first time it occurred to me that Dean just might be the better hunter of the 2 or that he would at least grow to be a better hunter than his father (and after 15 seasons I'd say he proved me right)
I don't think rhey are counted as hunters anymore don't get me wrong but after everything they been through they went passed any expectation of a hunter they are a legend in a way
5 ปีที่แล้ว
Dean killed Death. As far as Hunters go, he definitely bagged the biggest elephant
Getting to see John again was one of the most emotional moments of this entire show. Ive been watching since before i can remember(born 2002) Im going to miss it so damn much.
Few things. 1) that look on John's face when he hears Mary's voice for the first time in many years...omg his initial reaction. Also if they decided to end the show with the Winchester family reunited John Mary Dean and Sam....that would be an ending to this show that I would accept without a second though. A family that was broken by the supernatural came back together because of the supernatural. This should have been the ending.
I just ran across this and remembered that I never saw the first season and missed the first few episodes of the second season. If I'd seen those, I don't know if I would have continued watching. I never knew how much of an outsider Sam was back then. John barely showed him any real affection or anything at all. Several times when John walked in, he and Dean just naturally come together with a big, emotional hug, but Sam eventually get a hug, almost as an after thought. It was like they just tolerated him most of the time. I was looking forward to seeing John and Sam's emotional talk after John came back, when he apologized to Sam at the bunker. I was sad that wasn't included here. Also, holy CRAP those guys were SO young then! Their voices were so much higher. It was hilarious!
Because I saw the blooper of this scene before I saw the aired version I'm laughing hysterically while everyone else is crying. I think it's the funniest scene-gone-wrong ever, with J&J laid out on the floor and the others bent over weak from laughter, with the sound of the whole crew cracking up.

If I was John I would have been massively pissed. All rhat fight with yellow eyes and Mary is alive! fudge up! Just like how Bobby keeps coming back!
“You living in a bunker with an angel and lucifers kid?” Umm John you friends with an 8’year old that outsmarted your ass twice in one episode so yay
Do you think clever eight year olds are equally possible as angels and Satan himself?
I think it should have pulled John from heaven not the past, would have been better
I would love to see John Winchester again
I havent watch spn since season 10 so Im just catching up now. Seeing this... :'( Im literally crying right now. And I didnt know this was the time wher Mary was alive. Seeing them all together like that. It took so long!!! Im happy that I was able to see them together, but to see them become apart again. Im crying!
I would have loved a mention from dean to John that oh yeah met Adam , he's in the cage now as separate scene
Why didn't Dean mention him about this!!?!??! Poor Adam. 😨😿
forgot who is adam?
@@princeofdarknessxyz1 I'm very late but it's Sam and Dean's younger half brother :P
@@vmaximuslee9001 NO ONE CARES ABOUT ADAM...the writers probably regret even creating him lol
look at that, taking it like a champ
He is such a good fucking actor. When he’s face being shocked to hear her voice.. it made me and my girl cry
This is the sweetest family reunion ever
We NEED John Winchester back for the final season!!!
Yes yes
7:35 the unanimous “yes, sir” they both have immense respect for him..
Hope they bring him back for the final season
Lmbo
I always loved that scene after they escaped the shadow monster because it was Dean who said that John couldn't stay with them but when John tells Sam "you gotta trust me" it kinda makes it seem like John's passing Dean's idea off as his own.
This was the first time it occurred to me that Dean just might be the better hunter of the 2 or that he would at least grow to be a better hunter than his father (and after 15 seasons I'd say he proved me right)
I don't think rhey are counted as hunters anymore don't get me wrong but after everything they been through they went passed any expectation of a hunter they are a legend in a way
Dean killed Death. As far as Hunters go, he definitely bagged the biggest elephant
I'm not crying, you're crying!
Plot twist the apocalypse happens and he’s still alive. He turns into Negan and kills glenn
stop capping man never gonna happen
There's such a difference between the quality of old Supernatural and recent-current Supernatural. Old Supernatural felt so organic.
especially the filter
It took me years to realize the reunion of Sam and Dean with their dad after they defeated Azazel was done on a green screen.
This whole story wouldn't have been possible without John
Getting to see John again was one of the most emotional moments of this entire show. Ive been watching since before i can remember(born 2002) Im going to miss it so damn much.
That smile on her face just before they kiss kills me every time.
Oh I'm heartbroken again for the second time around. 😭💔
I wish we was coming back for season 15
All family together!!! 😄😄😄
It's an odd powerful phrase from a Father to a Son... "I'm so proud of you" sort of thing
John Winchester sees you crying at this: taking it like a champ!
Dean and Sam, given everything they've gone through, still seem like children when talking to they're parents. Damn that's great acting
At least they all got one last picture together that Sam keeps
Yes, that’s absolutely true. How did u feel about the end. It was a nice and sad ending.
3:25 the moment you could feel John’s true happiness
Because I saw the blooper of this scene before I saw the aired version I'm laughing hysterically while everyone else is crying. I think it's the funniest scene-gone-wrong ever, with J&J laid out on the floor and the others bent over weak from laughter, with the sound of the whole crew cracking up.
I saw it recently. It brings a whole new meaning to nutmeg
