We Attempt Milt's Mile in Our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon at Trail Hero!

- On or final day at Trail Hero, Kevin and I attempted the trail known as Milt's Mile! We had an absolute blast, of course taking all of the difficult lines we could.
One notch in particular, as you'll see, gave us a bit of trouble. Entertainment ensues.

That JL is almost unstoppable. I hope the engineers at JEEP fix that CRAZY fan and the oil issue. Gotta love it when you give back and it goes to a subscriber.

The only way to fix it is to move the oil reservoir outta the engine then you need a sump just not cost effective. For them to still be able to pickup oil and run while doing these angles is pretty dam impressive.
Great job brittany u got so close girl.but that was a pretty hard one so u wasn't no wimp .looking forward to catching u guys out here off roading.

That obstacle has been my nemesis! Problem was my wheel base was way to short! That will be fixed by the end of this month! Props for taking your new jeep up that.

She was soooooooo close! Jeep definitely needs to work on that oil issue. They know by now what people do w/ their Rubicons lol. As always, great job on wheeling and great job with the filming! Keep up the great work guys and I can't wait to see what your new adventures are!
How do you fix it though. The car is on an angle and fluid always finds a way. Think they hold up well for the abuse they go through. You would need a sump of some kind to eliminate and just not practical for OEM.

Some advice, don't get rock sliders that connect to the body or body mounts. Have some that are welded to the frame. A lot more rigid and less likely for body damage, but love the video!
Trail hero is an awesome event and is getting bigger every year. I am hoping to make it next year.
I like your videos very much. A thought about the smoke: I remember from driving school white smoke = water in engine. Black smoke = oil in engine. Your smoke was white.

Often, for people that are not accustomed to beer, tend to prefer weak pale ales / lagers, that are nicely chilled.

Kevin Williams, poop design with the axle disconnect. I’ve seen a broke JL housing at that spot. Could be a one off but JLs haven’t been around long. Time will tell......

I wonder if the smaller oil pan on the PUG version of this 3.6L that's in the JL is leading to oil starvation more quickly at extreme offroad angles?

Not trying to be that guy saying do this or do that but take those doors off once in a while when you hit the trails. It is a better experience IMO. You can see more and you take out the risk of door damage. Unless of course there is a ton of mud then leave those suckers on.

Another great video you two! Hey, a word to the wise, if there is someone there spotting, let them make the calls unless they ask for your perspective. It's confusing for the driver and 8/10 times they have the better visual. Other than that great job to you both!
Darin Criner Yeah, there were multiple times where more than one person attempted to spot for me. Unfortunately, Kevin doesn’t like sporting and I didn’t really know anyone else well enough for 100% confidence in what I was being told. Lol This is why I usually spot. 🤣😅

When Wheeling just isn't enough we have the all new 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with excessively loud fan noise and billowing smoke included at no extra charge for the off roader looking for unwanted attention.

Do you see other makes and models smoking like that when you're out there? BTW your wife drove like a beast in this video. Took some balls to try the wall.

I’m new in the Jeep community and as a car owner.. so everyone please go easy on me for this question but why is it smoking?? And would a Jeep sport still be able to do the same as the rubicon ??
diego marcelino The smoke is from the Jeep being at such a steep incline for too long a period of time, which allows oil to drain into areas it usually wouldn’t, and is then burned off. And a Sport won’t be as capable as the Rubicon. It would need at least added lockers to get close.

You guys should have the heads checked. I know of several people who got 3.6s in their jks that did not have the oil return hole drilled in their heads so oil running into the back couldn't drain and so it would suck it into the intake. Jeep replaced the heads and the smoking on steep inclines went away.
