Great topic and guest! Mike is crazy with this stuff, full of knowledge and awesome speaker. Thanks for the information guys. Looking forward to seeing him again on your future episodes
Absolutely couldn't have come at a better time I have been struggling with my programming, questioning am doing the right thing or should I be doing something else. Just stick to the plan and you will be fine brilliant.
reminds me of one of brian alsruhes video, when he talks how people wants to find perfect program where everything will be on point and optimal...so they just change things all the time and never get to do anything...in fact they should just try one basic program with basic progression, do it for 6 months as its written and then look around what happened and evetually change something up
Not to be a jerk but this quality of information might have cost you a masters degrees worth of student loans 10 years ago.Especially when we know the guys are actually the ones not just doing the research but in the gym making sure its legit and coaching world class athletes. Some professors are fat morons who have never lifted seriously there entire life yet to get a degree you have to sit there listening to them talk about something they have no practical experience with.So just put it in perspective.
I wish they would go into more detail discerning # reps and total reps × sets when the volume variable is discussed..is it because #reps is an indirect statement of the intensity
This fancy bs is unnecessarily complicated outside of team sports and in season athletes. I'm not saying it doesn't work but just because you use this fancy terminology doesn't make it effective or ineffective. For us recreational lifters I don't believe you need to follow a very complex program. I got great results using this type of programs but I don't call it DUP or whatever. People trained very similarly before the internet but they didn't have all kinds of fancy terminology for them. I consider myself evidence based but while training clients I never use this terminology when talking to them I just give them a reasonable program with a reasonable volume and monitor and adjust or not depending on the outcome.
Dude these podcasts are about discussing things more theoretical and trying to expand on ideas. Many of these podcasts are on more of a theoretical discussion and less direct and practical applied information.
I could listen to Zourdos talk all day long

Thank you. I appreciate the insight about not trying to do all the ‘this-variation-works-great’ exercises. And also to remember to enjoy training!

Great podcast guys but when are you going to have a real fitness influencer like myself on the show?
