    what makes Holmes story so interesting is that he murdered out of pure greed. He wanted to take people for all they were worth and would take down anyone who got in his way of getting what he wanted. He in some ways is the worst kind of murderer, the greedy, no good confidence murderer, not only to take their life, but their future too. He truely only cared about himself and his own ability to take people for whatever they were worth, even if it it also meant their life.

    Subbing. But the transitions between segments need to be less intrusive. The music currently too loud and long in the style of 1990's cheap tv shows breaking for commercials. And the sound effects are not consistent with the program's theme. Try shimmer stings with vignetting a corner of the screen with smokey black under readable white title lettering? A few tweaks and you've got another hit! Good luck.

      Good comment. I've been fascinated by Holmes' story for decades. Recently, I've been following organized crime. I have to check myself to remember that we're dealing with murderers and willful perpetrators of violence.
      The Age of Desensitization? The Space Age began a few days before I was born and I have lived through assassinations, wars, civil unrest, media sensationalizing criminal conduct, multiple gunshots heard at night, little children hit by stray bullets, gang activity, drug dealing, societal decay, and a government and institutions that seem complicit in the downfall of our way of life. And maybe our way of life wasn't so good to begin with.
      I'm not making excuses. We all know right from wrong. Maybe many of us are just fascinated by those with the "grit" to disregard the dictates of right conduct and go whole-hog in doing wrong.

I am almost finished with my masters in criminal psychology. I have shared this channel with my class numerous times and it never fails to enlighten, thank you!
    I do take on issue that has been repeatedly on your channel that I feel it necessary to address. You have said in several of your videos on serial killers that they were in love...not likely my friend. I know this is a common term but I would implore you to avoid this mistake. These killers are infatuated and likely enjoy or love what they can get out of the other person. They don't love so much as use to their advantage.
    At any rate, this is but a small complaint. I have always enjoyed your coverage as it is very well done and informative.

    Another note. As for what Holmes actually did with the remains of his victims, he would strip the bodies of their flesh down to the bone, articulate the skeletons, and sell the skeletons to local physicians and medical schools. For context, during the years Holmes was active, it was illegal to use cadavers for medical purposes. The problem was that student doctors needed bodies to practice all the new procedures they were learning. So, in addition to using the remains of convicted criminals, medical students would raid paupers graves at cemeteries in the middle of the night.
    If you want a more detailed version of this story, I highly recommend the H.H. Holmes episodes that Last Podcast on the Left did.

      True, but he isn't the one who started it. H.H. Holmes is often called that and is just the first person caught that we have record of who meets the idea people have of a serial killer. The bloody benders started their killing in 1870s, but they were never caught. The bodies were found. It was pretty lawless in a lot of parts, so it was easy to not get caught. Killing lots of people in duels or shoot outs doesn't count.

      @sonniepronounceds-au-ni9287 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm wrong. The Harpe brothers are considered to be the first serial killers in the U.S. They started their killing spree in the 1790s but killed a lot of people fighting for the British in the Revolution. They were a part of a rape gang during the war and killed a lot of colonists. They were Scottish immigrants not English. They admitted to killing 39 people, but it is suspected that the number exceeds 60. They killed a lot of infants too because their crying annoyed them. Lots of them were their own children born to the two wives they held prisoner and raped. They were messed up.

    has there been any word on a possible Scorsese movie staring Leonardo DiCaprio as Holmes? It sounds like it would be a kind of darker "catch me if you can" sort of movie

      Too many women mistake being dominating and violent for masculinity.

      NothingButTheTruth actually it’s more like thinking that you deserve all of the abuse, and that it’s not a big deal. We don’t mistake it for masculinity
