Many people don’t know the prime minister’s residence is named “ Ilaro” which is the name of the Ogun state west senatorial zone headquarters in Nigeria. There was a prime minister who held office several years ago and researched to know the origin of the name but was unsuccessful until he came across some Ghanaians hokidaying there who fortunately informed him that there’s a place in Nigeria by same title. So he sent down a delegation that met with the paramount ruler of Ilaro where they were received and acknowledged by being given yoruba names to connect them back to motherland. The people of Barbados have a very strong link with the people of Ogun state unknowingly to many of them

I am a Belizean student studying law here in Barbados. The people are very pleasant and the crime rate is really low. Definitely home away from home for me.
Shouting out my Nigerian brothers. I watch them out perform many Afro Americans and I now see where we got that character of punching above our weight class.
Mount Gay is Black owned. A great story of the worlds' oldest produced commercial rum. I married a Bajan and she knows how to run a financially stable home.
Think more justice could have been given to Rihanna who is the second living National Hero and an international icon…it’s not just a case that anything can be tourism. Rihanna is just not a random person she is important to Barbados and continues to do us proud!

Very well done but the Carnival has been up for hundreds of years Since 1687 Celebrated during the end of the Cutting of the Sugar Cane Crop but the NEW Name Given which is Crop OvER that name was given 50 years ago! The people of the Caribbean including Barbados are a Strong mix of African, plus the East and Caribbean Indian and also AMeri Indians and White but also some Chinese mix you will see as well A lot of that mixing came to happen through SLAVERY In the Americas or what is also known as the WEST INDIES!! Keep doing what You do it is wonderful
Food for thought….although Barbados is the world’s largest producer of sugar, sugar is one of cause of illness among black people. Sugar is a legal drug that causes more addiction than heroin that is illegal. Let that sink in for a moment.
As caricom national next door to bim Cheaper is always worse. That said trini carnival is bigger and older than dem' bajes respect to our other neighbors, but we love Barbados ❤better it is way prettier than Trinidad. Only Turks & caicos beaches can compare to dem bajan island. Bajes cropover is a young people party..🇹🇹Trinidad is more old people. Plus dem bajan women have the best bodies, in our region hands down. Have their own style of music as well, that sht is hyped🔥🔥 love it. Bajans are also our koolest Caribbean neighbors. We feel safer when visting 🇧🇧.Barbados it is not chaotic like TnT. Facts.🇩🇲🇬🇩🇱🇨🇻🇨🍷
