It’s good to have a channel that does straight forward evaluations, and honest feedback.

Yes. I’m at odds seemingly with a lot of other reviewers out there. I’m being blasted with ads by different reviewers calling this a desert island plugin. I have no idea if they’ve been paid to say that or what, but I sure didn’t get offered anything. Hahaha.
Or maybe I’m just wrong. I am, after all, just some guy. 😉

Thanks for your honesty and openness. I really appreciate it.
Honestly I just try to design and build plugins I enjoy using with hopes that other people would enjoy it too but I guess to each his own ;)

Hey Noam! I love a lot of your plugins! This one was just not my personal cup of tea. I just hate to say anything negative about anything, but I also know that there are a lot of people who depend on my honesty. So it’s important I’m always honest.
Thanks so much for giving me an early look! I’m excited to see what you come up with next!

Viewers of this channel might be able to help me (or even The Man himself, should he deign to notice this) -- I've recently developed an issue with wearing normal over the ear headphones (I have Audeze LCD-3's, Beyer 1990's, Beyer 770's, Schitt Ragnarok/Gungnir, etc, so I have some money sunk into this). My one pair of ON-EAR headphones are Sennheiser HD 25's. Basically, because of some sort of dermatological issue, I can't avoid getting a rash behind/above my ears if I wear ANY form of over ear headphones. (And yes, I'm clean, I keep my headphone pads clean, etc.) I CAN use the HD-25's with no issue. Here's my question/quandry: I'm using headphones for music production (Ableton, hardware synths, drum machines, VST's, etc.) and I was very happy with the DT-1990's, although they were a bit dark. They were supremely comfortable with the Dekoni pads I had gotten for them. But... now I'm stuck using the HD-25's. With regard to music production/mixing, how bad are the HD 25's? Basically, the comments I'm seeing on the web indicate that they're too bass heavy, lack clarity, etc. Is there some stellar on-ear alternative anyone could suggest for studio production/mixing? (Note that I have tried EVERYTHING with my over-ear headphones - plush/felt pads as opposed to leather/faux leather, sanitizing them before every session, etc. This is apparently just a contact issue with my skin, and nothing I have done can mitigate or change it.) So... what's the best on-ear headphone for production/mixing? Thanks!

Hey there. Well, if you ask me, any good quality headphones can be used to help with mixing. The trick is getting to know them. For example, listening at length to already mixed and mastered pro music (your favorite band/artist) and getting a feel for how music sounds through those cans. For this purpose, the HD25s will work nicely.
While the comments that they’re a bit bass-heavy and lack clarity are somewhat accurate, that doesn’t mean someone cannot get used to how music SHOULD sound through them.
Of course, it goes without saying that using headphones to mix isn’t ideal no matter WHICH ones they are. But it can be, and is, done. For example. My studio is in the basement of my house. Sometimes I’m ready to mix something at its 4am. I use Sony MDR 7506s for mixing and know them really well. And I’ll do that. But I’ll always try to compare my mix with fresh ears on my studio nearfields in the morning.
I also own HD25s and use them for field work.
My advice is to stick with the HD25s and ONLY use them. Get used to them. And let them become a part of you. They’re excellent headphones.
      Hope this helps!

Oh. I saw this in passing and thought it was digital interpretations of guitar pedals.... That could have been a little bit interesting... If they were good. There's So many plugins these days that are actually really good that are probably a lot more worth your time.

Oh yes. I was contacted by Safari Pedals and he asked me to review a couple of his plugins. I just agreed and did it. I have a few awesome plugins I’ve already reviewed and many more to come!

I must not be enough of a dad to understand why 'camel strip' is funny.
(Maybe the physical pedal would be fun/quick and dirty way to get some channel strip functionality onto a pedalboard? Just seems like it suffers by comparison within a DAW. Neither are really my cup of tea but hey...)

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  หลายเดือนก่อน

Hahaha. It’s just the combination of camel (digits?) and strip (landing?). Haha.
Not my cup of tea either. But I was sent the plugin to review and that’s what I did. Thanks for stopping by!
