"Oko Jockeying" 😂 It's a perfect term in Vintage though because, like you say, whoever rolls their ankle in the Vintage Horse Race gets sent to the glue factory.
14:20 "This hand is a little slow", my god Vintage is wild. You have your whole ass combo, best 3-drop followup, and can find every other card in your deck, and you legit have to pause and go "Hmmm, can I really keep a hand without a mox"
Thank you for the grim reminder of the horror of Oko, Thief of Crowns. Occasionally I see some lunatic who forgot what that card does to people and argues it should come back

God, imagine what that standard format would’ve looked like with no bans or rule changes RUG Yorion Fires, Bant ECD Tribal, rBUG Food, Wilderness Reclamation
Before watching the video, I have some thoughts on construction: 1) There was some confusion on the Orchard, as it was showing one in the Deck tech, not the full boat, so that point is null. 2) I feel like Fluster isn't the best as a main deck option with the way the format has shaken out right now, and I think Consign is better. It has so much more play against the field, with Jewel Shops being heavily punished, and having play against decks like Oath, Initiative, Breach, and Dredge. You can Stifle things in Oath, the Storm trigger in Breach, and the Narco triggers that collapse the hell out of Dredge's plan. If only one Narco hits the yard and it's stifled, that shuts a good amount of what Dredge wants to do off. Dredge is also a nightmare match for Oath if you can't get under it fast enough. It also plays well against Lavinia, where, if I am remembering correctly, you can stifle her last ability trigger to help push a Force of Will out (if need be). 3) I love having the access to Thoughtsieze in any format where there is a major concern for pushing a combo out or keeping a deck in check. 4) I am always a little sad to see no Gaea's Blessing, as it's an absolute house to ensure you're not going to deck. All that said, I'm not a Vintage expert by any means, so this is just my musings on the stuff I have seen.
Questions after watching to get a better grasp: Taking out 3 Show instead of 2 Show and Fluster? I would think that Fluster would be medium-bad in the match, since it's got a minimal amount of targets. (after seeing their Creature juke makes that line worse though) I am thankful you addressed the Emissary question that I had. She shuts the whole deck down completely
R3, g1 at around 29:39 i think I like dt for lotus use lotus to snt citadel and still strip the bazaar - it is a heavy investment, but bazaar is how they cheese you out post citadel. I'm curious to hear opinions :)
I was thinking about that, too. It's easy to say that in retrospect, as the DT got hacked and the bazaar activation was huge, but DT with Citadel in play is so close to being able to deterministically win. It's hard to say!
I know I said I wasn't going to mess with standard and pioneer anymore because it's for the kids now. But I gotta while they're keeping 65 sets legal. Llanowar Elves are legal for 5 years. But when this rodeo is over, I'm back in eternal formats for good.
its probably been tried before but what about 1 crop rotation in sideboard (or maybe main idk) for bazaar matchups. could get tabernacle or wastland/strip mine and has the upside of being able to get orchard in hands where you have oath but no creature from the opponent. also tutorable off mystical tutor, meaning mystical tutor could also get an orchard/tabernacle if needed

I think crop rotation being so bad against all the counterspells in vintage makes that impractical
