Instead Mustafa grew up feeling everyone was against them, out to get them and made to believe the throne was his, making him an enemy to Hurrem by crying to her son about her all of the time, which ended up putting a constant strain on his relationship with his father. In real life, a sultan didn’t sleep with every concubine in the Harem and those who did were “lucky” if they even went to halvet more than once. It was unusual for a sultan to love a concubine as deeply as Suleiman did, and as openly as he did🙏🏼 In the show, Mahidevran managed to kill Hurrem’s first born son Mehmet and also poisoned her while she was pregnant in front of Suleiman. Giving Mahidevran control was not safe and Suleiman learned this the hard way, he understood her nature and chose to distance himself from the toxicity. It’s sad her pain took control of her and no one could ever understand her, the difference is Hurrem never turned on the Sultan even when he did, she remained loyal and genuine as she wasn’t always on his best side.
