@@soggypie7266 this is a good point! God does have everything planned out. He already knows what’s going to happen. He also already knows what you’re going to pray about.
Ultimately, prayer isn’t something you do to get what you want. Prayer is about building a relationship with God. Just because your parents aren’t necessarily going to be swayed by what you have to request, that doesn’t mean you don’t talk to them. You don’t talk to people just to get things out of them, so why should that be the case with God?
Really, God ISN’T going to give you what you want. He’s going to give you what you NEED.
Prayer is showing you believe in Him and that He is good. That pleases Him, and what’s better than doing that?
Romans 8:26 says “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Thats God speaking through us! Even further than looking ahead and deciding what’s best for us and what to say yes or no to, He’s speaking through us when we pray.
