wepa que rico, el bajista es un show por si solo, se lo esta gosando mas que cualquiera, saludos a todos los salseros del mundo (Tolima Colombia) desde Miami 2021 y seguimos en salsaahi na ma gracias
Never heard of Irving Fields before, but came across an interview of him as an old man many years ago where he talked about meeting the legendary Art Tatum for the first time. In the interview, he said that the first time he saw Tatum play he wanted to quit the piano...so intimidated he was. But Tatum did that to a lot of guys. Mr. Fields may have been in awe of Tatum, but he certainly had nothing to be embarrassed about, being a fine piano player himself.
That's my uncle Irving my dad's first uncle. My dad's mom Irene Davis taught him first how to play and then he went to juilliard! This is Wendy Davis... I wonder how we're related! We may be cousins somehow! Oy! shabbat shalom
In the summers, my parents would plan our summer vacay on where Uncle Irving was playing. He's still doing it and soon to be 97. Amazing.
Youre part of the fields family?
I am his son
RIP Irving Fields! well done, you have delighted us for so long - you have earned your rest! thank thank you!
He turned 101 yesterday, such a favorite! His book "Pianos I Have Known" is a must read for any musician.
I often think about Mr. Fields, such an amazing man & talented pianist.

Could you tell us where you found that interview? Fields was my uncle on my father's side, and I'm curious to learn more about him.
