The Supershieldz are PET protectors which I guess don't work with the Pixel 6, only TPU protectors work. PET and TPU are a different type of plastic. The IQ shields work well on my 6 Pro as well as well as the IMZBZBK ones sold on Amazon which are slightly better quality than the IQ Shields.
I'm the world's worst applicator of Screen Protectors. I normally take them to a store to have them fitted. But, I bought some JTech protectors, for my 6a, which have "guide tools" and after one failure (dust bubbles) tried again, but rested the phone, after cleaning on my case, as I'd seen done in and it actually worked. Probably a fluke. No issues with the fingerprint reader and with a Crave Dual Layer case, (having tried a few others) I'm totally protected and totally chuffed.
I'm lucky of the bunch. Zero issues with 1st Supershieldz on Pixel 6 Pro. Not 1 hiccup with the fingerprint reader. Waiting for tempered glass ones to come in stock.
Still waiting for my protector to come in (loving the phone btw) ...and I may be crazy but the fingerprint sensor is actually pretty fast and responsive for me on the 6 Pro. Expected it to be alot worse considering the reviews Also, the quality of the video is sublime!
J, thank you for the heads up. I have to say the same thing with the screen protector that Tmobile offers as well which is the GoTo temp glass. One of your viewers did mention that it's weird how it able to read our fingerprints during setup but nothing when unlocking. Hopefully there is a screen protector out there that is good on the pixel 6.
Skinomi wet install matte screen protectors are solid & tend to work really well for fingerprint readers. The only thing is that they tend to lift with certain cases if you don't get them spot on.
I’ve used Super Shieldz in the past as well and their screen protector didn’t work well for the Duo 2 either. No response from them when I emailed them. Hopefully, they will respond to you.
Ringke screen protector works great on my pixel 6, but just being safe afterwards I added another fingerprint scan after the install of the screen protector also and it works 99 percent of the time.
oh man, I just got this today and they shipped it fast,,, very happy and it is working so far with the fingerprint reader, Thanks for the suggestion. The only thing I could complain about is no guide tray to install and I got it on a little crooked.. but it has nice oleophobic coating so finger slides nicely... I had ordered one from Amazon (different brand) and still haven't got it...
@j Willi i am currently testing the ubreakifix template for the Pixel 6. was worried based on reddit feedback that a matte screen protector may not work but all seems good. need a couple of more days to confirm. hope there are software updates coming re: sensitivity. i don't think tempered glass is gonna work too well on this phone
I used the IQ brand first. But I didn't like the feel and the screen quality didn't look too good. I switched to the armour shield and it works great. Much better than the IQ I used.
I've tried around 6 screen protectors for the pixel 6 and all of them I couldn't use the fingerprint scanner, to me my fingerprint scanner is very important on that device with no face unlock been given as a backup, and I have to protect all my devices with screen protectors so the pixel 6 is no longer a phone I own. This sounds stupid but lick your thumb so it's moist and then try the scanner it works the majority of the time 😂
You know what's funny? I use the wet install method on every protector I use which helps with dust control and bubbles. I'm not a fan of tempered glass protectors at all.
@@arniejonassen bubbles are not a big big deal to be because you just get a credit card to push it out to the edge. The dust I can see here and there but that's why you have to sticker as you can always lift it back up and put it back down unlike a wet install.
My problem is the laminate used on the P6 display which is terrible. I have a cheap T-Mobile Revo phone for work and that doesn't pick up fingerprint smudges at all, it's insane but my P6 takes less than a minute to pick up all my fingerprint smudges.
There is a setting to increase the sensitivity of the fingerprint reader. I turned that on and I'm using no screen protector. I'm having no problems 👍🏾

Unusual that it will read to setup fingerprint, but not to be able to use it. Peace

My iq shield screen protector is nice. And I double set up my fingerprint from jump. I recommend the iq shield

As one gets older, fingerprints get less grippy. I'm wondering if I'm going to have a problem even without a screen protector on the 6.

Victus glass on the Pixel 6. I'm going naked. Not much can scratch the screen except sand or a diamond. I think screen protectors are overrated.

And DO NOT put your pixel in the original Google case. My phone normally fell one time and the screen cracked from that first fall.
Used LK tempered shield for P6 and it doesn't work with Finger print sensor so I would stay away from them.
Super Shields usually give me problems. Haven't had much luck with them over the years.
You have to use brands that are Made for the Pixel 6/6 Pro. Certified brands for the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 are Zagg, Otterbox, and Panzerglass.
