I think its an ill thought out idea to hang them overhead! First of all, my neck gets sore looking up for more than a few minutes at a time so thats not gonna work for me or anyone else with a bad neck or back. Then its just empty hallways with descriptions on the walls which is pretty blah and not very inviting at all.

Great idea, but the video is done in such a way that the imagination does not soar towards these past oceans: the gentleman is, of course, very competent, but the video features too many material details about the exhibit. It is very good, but technical, and dry. I did not give the thumb down!

I would have expected more salt polution in the now dry ocean territories if ocean was there. I dont believe alot of this For that reason.

Brian, once the water retreats (or dries out) the former sea bed will start getting covered by sediments from continental processes such as rivers and lakes. You would need to drill through a few formations before you reach the ancient sea bed.
Also, you only get salt deposits if the inland sea evaporated. This salt would then be covered by subsequent, younger sediments. So you still wouldn't see it in the modern landscape, you would need to drill to find that layer of salt.
Some inland seas never evaporate, but simply retreat by a drop in sea levels, leaving a fresh sea bed behind that can be eroded or buried under younger sediments.
