    Greg is the epitome of who you want as a warrior, police officer, civil servant, and American. It's a terrible day for our country and for law enforcement as a whole when any officer could get into trouble for sharing that message. Bless you sir!

    As an attorney, I have spent my last 30 years representing law enforcement officers. Greg Anderson has my respect. And you should know that there are many Greg Andersons working in law enforcement scattered across our country. I am thankful for all of them. This is another incredible podcast. Thank you Andy.

      There are MANY Greg Anderson's across the country. I feel like many active officers share these views; the ones who got into the profession for the correct reasons, to protect and serve. Unfortunately I don't think that's being reinforced enough, and it truly is heart breaking.

    "BECAUSE WE LIVE HERE!"
    As a combat veteran, and former law enforcement officer, I'm not surprised by how police have been acting, but I am embarrassed. Officer Anderson is doing the right thing, regardless of the consequences. Thanks to Andy for posting this interview.

      I always wanted to ask a police officer or a former police officer this,would you agree(especially given the murder of George Floyd last week)that police need better training and also,that police academies and police departments need to do a better job at weeding out the kinds of people who shouldn't be police officers?

    • @alz.7716
      @alz.7716 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JR-ju3kj you hit the nail on the head on both counts. The root cause is a politically based hiring and promotion process instead of a merit based one. As an aside, most police officers in this country shoot their issued firearms 2-4 times per year (at most). That same training standard applies to most of the required skillsets.

    • @TheSkiddum
      @TheSkiddum 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alz.7716 hey. Thank you for your service overseas and here.
      I know allot of people are crying defund the police. I think this is absolutely ridiculous and stupid on a level beyond insane and I think new York is realizing at this moment.
      So I know we here alot about this an that police reform and so on. but no one is actually talking about what they want. As an officer I think you'd know what police need better training in and I'd love to here your opinion on this. What do you want to see come of this.
      My personal opinion is 4 fold.
      Starting out. think all officers should have an associates degree in law enforcement. The classes should include everything that is taught at the academy as well as a large focus on the constitution and laws surrounding our constitution. Really inbed what they can and cannot do. For instance theres the ID law, you need reasonable articulable suspicion that a crime has been, is about to be, or is in the commission of a crime to ask for ID and search. The reason why is this is basic. It really stands up for the 4th amendment. That people have the right to privacy for themselves and there papers/effects. Its not Natzi Germany where they can ask for your papers any time any where. And you'd be surprised how many officers dont even know this law until someone actually stands up for there right.
      But classes that really get deep into the constitution, what it means, and the laws around it I think would help to have officers not violating people's rights. An help bridge the Gap between us. The public would know that these guys have a serious education and they know their jobs. And on the flip side when they overstepped that it would be easier to say you knew better so we can't look the other way
      2. The second major class should be Martial arts. Gracie Jujitsu at very least a Blue belt preferably a purple belt. The reason for this is obvious. If cops are confident in there abilities then there less likely to go for the Gun. And BJJ has been proven effective time and time and time again against an opponent thats really fighting. The octagone/MMA is the test weather or not an art is truly effective. And BJJ has been in and lead the MMA for decades. And GJJ or BJJ is great for taking someone down and maintaining control. And the Gracie school has a great course for officers.
      So giving them a 2 year course allows the academy to really get into everything seriously. Making sure these people are at there best when they leave and gives the instructors enough time to really test the person to see if they have the mentality for the job. Again that will further the process in bridging the gap.
      3 They need to really define qualified immunity. That way when an officer oversteps there bounds they're can be criminal and civil justice brought against them. Remove police unions that way they can remove bad officers much much easier. An make it so officers are required and there's even incentives to turn in and arrest other officers that are breaking the laws especially when there using there authority to hurt people.
      There was a video where the cop goes to handcuf this guy and then just looses his temper and just starts beating the shit out of this guy. And his partner just stood there and let it happen. I'm sure if there wasn't a video taken they would have charged the guy with assaulting an officer. Cause he said he was grabbing him or something that's how he busted his knuckles. But thats the problem in the police community. And its why people don't trust them. If a teacher seen another teacher abusing a student they wouldn't cover for them. Or anything like that they'd be the first to stop it an make sure the bad teacher was arrested. I want to see video where cops like the one above. His partner doesn't just stand there. No she pulls her tazer and drops the cop. Like he beat the shit out of the guy and the guy didn't even try to fight back. If she would have tazed him to stop him then arrested him. And if the public seen videos like this all the time instead of cops covering for other cops in the reports and then a video comes out and you find out the officers lied. I think that would go Along way into breaking down the walls between regular people and officers. Cause they would know that the other officers aren't going to tolerate, help, or look the other way. There going to protect the people from bad cops as well as criminals.
      And lastly. Getting cops out there. Meat the public, get to know the area and the citizens where there patrolling. I remember cops here used to pull up when we were playing football out in the park. And they'd come play a few rounds with us. They weren't there for hours. But they came in and got to know the kids and families they were there to protect. We knew them and they new us. Cool thing i remember was the one officer wound up being my school officer in high school. So we new each other and he was really cool with me and most the other kids.
      These are my ideas on how we can fix this problem. I know allot of people are running around screaming bumper slogans but no one is really giving out solutions on how to actually fix these issues. And I'd love to hear what you think needs to be done to solve these issues

    You’re an incredible person Greg. I appreciate you, and I’m glad that you’re in Law Enforcement.
    1:01:19
    “They are going to make criminals out of people that are not criminals.”
    Unfortunately, this seems to be how America ends up creating its own future demand for both the Law Enforcement, Legal, and Prison systems.
    Of course it all boils down to individual choices, but once you’re facing “the system”, it really does seem to function in a way that tries to entice recidivism.
    Supply & demand. For-profit legal & prison systems.
    May God bless both you and your families, Greg & Andy.
    I appreciate you guys!

    Greg thank you so much for your courageous stand and thanks to Andy for sharing. I watched Greg first on Free Range American and the message really woke me up. I am a city police officer and though we have not been asked to specifically enforce Covid restrictions, as you say Greg it is a Federal issue. All law enforcement needs to stand up for what's right and enforce only the criminal law in an ethical way. You made me think about not just following orders but evaluating what's right when people's freedom is in question. Keep up the good work brother.

    this is one of the finest videos, on current and past turmoil in the United States, Greg is a true leader and example of what real people are like. I AM TOTALLY afraid that we are losing our country and it is past time to use our second amendment rights to protect our freedoms and our country. Ronald Reagan was totally correct when he said, " Government is the problem", the race for power and money, in all aspects of government if frightening to me, and we have to prepare ourselves for the conflict that is coming. We can not lose our country to the evils of government and stand by and do nothing. We have to fight to be free men. I have just found your site and it is exceptionally well done.

    After hearing about that officer suffocating a man with his knee in Minneapolis, that just reinforces what Greg Anderson was saying, some cops take their authority to way to far and think there above the law. Although Anderson wasn't referring to that specifically, but he brings up how a cop swears an oath to serve and protect, but people like Derrick Chauvin don't give a fuck about their oath and just like power trip.

    • @JR-ju3kj
      @JR-ju3kj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I say it all the time and I've heard so many other people say it,cops need better training and police academies and police departments need to do a better job at weeding out the kinds of people who shouldn't be cops. I absolutely agree that there are cops who take their authority way too far and who abuse their power and who think that they're above the law-and that goes back to my point about weeding out the people who shouldn't be cops. It's an extremely difficult and stressful job and the reality is that a lot of people just aren't up to the task.
      But hopefully, Derrick Chauvin and the other three cops(well,they're all FORMER cops now)who have been charged will be convicted and will spend their lives in prison.

    As a retired big city cop, I agree with 99% of what Greg is saying. I, too, am embarrassed by some of the things I have seen lately during the pandemic. I draw the line when we mentions a friend saying there would have been 5 dead officers if he was there when the woman in the subway was taken down. I completely agree it was wrong, but saying that someone should fight back if they feel they are being arrested wrongly is not going to end well for anyone. No DA is filing on these stupid charges. Even if they do, take your day in court because no jury is going to convict on this nonsense. Then sue the shit out of the city and get your multi-million dollar payday.

    I was at Olympia near Chk point 12 when you were there, Greg. We had the covert B6 Landrovers with camels tied to the roof.
    You’re on the money 04 and 05. It was like being in a combined Disneyland and Mad Max movie on acid.
    We reported to CTSO and used to love getting phone calls on those encrypted flip phones - (everybody whispering’coz it’s secret) We received “triangular” orders from Director Security Iraq (a marine Major General mustang- he stayed in the country for five years with a three month break each year) and do the planning. A couple of days later we’d get the same orders from CPATT in CTSO. Boss at the time was DP2 (later ran that three letter place)
    Anyway - months on and Greg your actions really helped reduce what tinkered on gunfights we think. Respect to you mate. (We’ll catch up at Tal Afar or Sulminayah for coffee :)
    Cheers Andy - bloody great work

    This was a great one! I’ll tell you what, if a cop is going to lose his job, I would much rather it be over an instance like Greg’s as opposed to what those idiots in Minneapolis did. He spoke his heart and belief system and I think that he is a great cop, whether he stays in law enforcement or not. He did the right thing.

    I think that every cop should work on his skills in his free time. It is in his interest to be a good shooter, to be in great shape, to have good fight skills with baton, to do some BJJ/kickbox etc. and if you don't like shooting, physical training, fighting than do some office job..

      I agree and disagree, I think the training (which should be mandatory) should be during normal paid hours, because if you're a mechanic or a dentist, or whatever, you should not be required to go home for the day and then be expected to work on a car or clean someone's teeth. If someone cant meet the standards, then they can ride the desk

      As a civilian, I've recently discovered my complete disdain for office jobs. This podcast episode was an eye opener.

      @@trumanmiller94 Don't give me wrong they all should have much more mandatory training that is paid like they are in work. But what I am saying is that it should be your hobby and you should be interesting in training shooting, all kinds of tactical stuff, physical training. This will show how much professional you are. If you are fat, out of shape cop who doesn't train his body at all and shoots only during mandatory shooting training. Or you are in shape, training with weights, running, shooting in your free time, maybe even doing some tactical shooting courses with ex SF guys etc.. Simply if you are not interesting in this stuff. I am saying you shouldn't be cop on the streets. I think that this job is not for everyone. You can't do it just for money like when you work in McDonalds that's my opinion..

      The fact that the skills u deem the most important all have to do with inflicting damage is what's wrong with the police today. Lots of police seem to view themselves as some kinda paramilitary force rather than citizens performing a civil service.
      Bjj/kickboxing/shooting/and beating ppl with batons are so far down the list when it comes to skills required to make effective police.
      In reality police need to work on communication, relationship building, critical thinking, self control, public health and safety, deescalation techniques, and other stuff that isn't near as exciting as shooting ppl and beating them with sticks. If one wants a job shooting and fighting police work isn't the place for them, they need to join the military.

      @@jgreen802 I agree with the critical thinking portion of your post. Most people only look for square holes for square pegs and so on. Being physically fit and regular defensive tactics training would allow for officers to not rely on tools or getting at such a disadvantage that they need to rely on lethal force. Also maybe rotating off of patrol to avoid burnout. What do you think?

    Ironic everything Greg speaks about came to fruition the same day this aired. Lot of respect for Greg what he says is 100% true. I used to blindly support LEO but no more, the level of arrogance and intimidation Police display on a daily basis has created the current climate. I cant tell you the number of cuffed people I saw get a beating after the fact before cameras were everywhere ,its one of the reasons I tossed my badge and quit being a firefighter. I no longer say hello to the police and if they speak to me, I turn my back on them and walk away I dont trust anyone in a Police costume. If you lost me a former firefighter in the burbs you can bet there is little support for the current police state. 100% of Officers say they support Greg and 100% of the 100% hide and dont say shit. Its easy to preach when nothing is at stake only men like Greg match there words with action. If you want to know why the public hates police go down the 1A Audit wormhole on TH-cam and tell me with a staight face the majority of cops are decent people law abiding servants, the decent guys move on to other professions.
