I wouldn't say Smurfette was "evil", but she was created by Gargamel to cause jealousy within the Smurf village. She, however, decided she wanted to be a real Smurf; so, Papa Smurf I guess cast a spell that would make her good. Her blonde hair would indicate the change from bad to good.
I can't believe that Wendy would do that to those poor Smurfs...😢 Also, Dash trying his hardest not to laugh an the brutal murder of a child is somehow wildly wholesome.
It’s many-layered. It’s a satire of American politics, right-wing conspiracy-theory political shows and then the Dances with wolves/Avatar parody. To label it as a mere one joke episode doesn’t do this gem justice
Dash’s callbacks to previous South Park episodes and hidden gems are top notch. He constantly points out things I never noticed or knew in each video 🤯👏🏾👏🏾
I love his reactions because of that. Dash shows us that he is a man with culture and that South Park creators are smart guys who know how to use references from movies and TV shows in every episode and not giving everything for granted. I've always enjoyed South Park, but with Dash I enjoyed it even more because I learn about these references I wasn't aware of.
He definitely knows a lot of culture that they reference but I do think he also looks up maybe on IMDb or the South Park wiki to check out all the references, there are times where he doesn't get the reference but he does show one of his little trivia facts or cutaways.
I really love how Wendy does not care one bit about Cartman's shit talk until her dad has to ask her why a little boy is peeing on their door, and then she turns it around and destroys him in one scene, telling her dad beforehand "I'll take care of it" like it was never a problem to begin with was awesome.
Wendy and Cartman have such a funny dynamic- in the earlier seasons they played around with the idea of them liking each other like in Chef Goes Nanners but thereafter they absolutely cannot stand each other (usually because of Cartman being a dick)
The school-announcements intro is one of the most ludicrously dark comedy bits they've ever done - the sheer reality/no jokes, mixed with the absurd setting/premise, just fantastic.
A subtle trick is having it be the very first thing in the episode so you’ve had no time to catch the episode’s rhythm. It’s just opening credits and then straight to child murder
funny thing about this episode is that it actually released before avatar did, they just saw the trailer and were like oh yeah thats clearly dances with wolves
It's funny that they nailed the "Avatar is just Dances With Wolves with alien smurfs" point, despite this episode being released BEFORE Avatar was. I know they managed it for their Lord of the Rings parody (Dash has GOT to react to it!) but at least the books were there for reference in that case. All they had were the trailers to go on, and they still hit the mark.
That "Good artists borrow" thing reminds me of what my old physics teacher use to say. "Copying one persons work is plagiarism but copying multiple people work is research."
"You can't give Cartman a chance to manipulate a situation because he WILL turn the tide in his favor." I wish Cartman was my teacher! But you know what they say: karma is coming for you.
You’re the single TH-camr that I’ve had that feeling of “oh shit he uploaded I need to watch it” in the last year or two. There’s others I enjoy, but this is the only one where every single time, I click it right away. Great reaction as always
16:17 Honestly, in this day and age, girls should be allowed to ask the guys regardless of the type of dance. Also, for those of you about to reply that this was 2009 and therefore a different time, I was around back then, and women were very much capable of being themselves and doing their own thing. Heck, _Kim Possible_ first aired in *2002,* and the first episode centres around Kim mustering up the courage to ask out Ron, so it was indeed possible.
I noticed the views were not as high as your normal videos and then I realized you just posted 8 minutes ago. I'm ridiculously excited right now it's almost embarrassing😂😂😂
Literally just earlier this week I was watching your reactions and thought to myself, “I can’t wait till he watches dances with smurfs.” This is a top ten episode in my mind.
4:45 I like to think Clyde and Stan are asleep cause there was a game on the night before. Lol They're totally the kids who's dad's would let them stay up to watch it
Bro your timing is impeccable. I was literally thinking today "Man, did Dash react to the Smurfs episode yet? I can't remember" Perhaps I saw the future!
Okay , dash i hope you see this, cause when you upload its like giving someone a bit of happiness, when im feeling in the dumps, stressed etc. I pop on your channel to level out. My absolute favorite part of this episode, and I'm so surprised you didnt point it out!!!, is Butters reaction to when Gordon Stolski was getting killed. All the other students are just listening looking confused or bored, but Butters is absolutely horrified and about to have some sort of mental breakdown 😸 The only thing better is that Clyde doesn't even react at all, he just sits doing his work quietly like nothing is even happening haha.
I remember feeling so validated when this episode came out because when I was seeing Avatar for the first time all I could think is how the plot was just Dances with Wolves and/or Pocahontas
Casey Casem used to voice Shaggy on Scooby Doo. He was also Robin in an old Batman cartoon I used to love watching and he's Cliffjumper on The Transformers. I'm glad you pointed out that Casey Miller was a parody of him, he was a bit of a legendary figure in broadcasting.
The next one should be “Insheeption” …if you are familiar with the Chris Nolan movie inception, it is very good and has some horror characters you will love!
I Always learn something new about these episodes when I watch your videos. I knew that that Casey kid with the deep voice was a reference to Something, but never what. Thanks for adding that context! You do that with every one of your videos, and you edit in clips to boot. Easily the best reaction content on youtube! Hope everything is going well for you my dude.

12:07 Cartman: Go on, look outside. You won't find any Smurfs. Dash: Because they don't exist. Actually, I think the implication of Cartman's film is that he went out and found a real tribe of Smurfs and befriended them just so he could film himself killing them all. If that's the case, then that adds a whole other layer to it. 😆
Wendy is such a giga chad when it comes to dealing with Cartman It's like she KNOWS more than anyone how to deal with him I was not expecting her to play along and flip the situation onto Cartman with his own story.
13:27 Just wanted to point out that this was an interesting frame: the laser tag gun was pointing directly at Wendy. Pretty much the reason she was “forced” to play Eric’s game and go on the show given the assassination of her character, the slander and the gullible students and even the teachers believing every word of Cartman’s despite everyone knowing what sort of… “character” he is lol

Fun Fact: Dancing with Smurfs is actually the creators making fun of Avatar because they thought it was a stupid movie
Very True! I think they were also making fun of the fact that the movie was very similar to another movie called "FernGully: The Last Rainforest".
and dances with wolves too.@@Deadrack1
also some parts of disneys pocahontas shares some story beats.
it IS a stupid movie, you think if aliens ever visited our planet theyd like that crap ?
Yup, I agree with them. James Cameron is mostly just a big hack. Blows my mind how T2 came from him of all people.
I love that this episode is basically 20 minutes of buildup for an Avatar joke.
Well, that, and a pretty hilarious send-up of Glenn Beck.

That deleted scene caught me off guard
Wendy and Cartman are like Batman and Joker. Every single episode involving those two is gold.
So true!!! Their episodes are gold!
Yup. She kisses him...and kicked his ass!

Love this one. There aren’t enough Wendy episodes but imo she’s an underrated character
It is amazing how South Park can just take side characters and give them a full episode about them an still be great.
The funny thing about the Avatar reference is that when this episode premiered, Avatar wouldn't hit theaters until about three weeks later.
