  • @ilmatanela1816

    Pixel dimensions is key in term of image quality. Smartphones generally use small sized sensors, therefore, despite the improvement of technology, Apple's choice to stick with 12 mp is wise. Giving priority to improving dynamic range and high ISO performance. I would be curious to see an A3 print of a photo taken with one of these 1xx mpx phones. That said, we are still far from the day I'll use a phone as my main camera.

    • @sauravus

    • @elu5ive
      @elu5ive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      an A3 print would look like shit,
      an A4 print would look like shit,
      an A5 print would look like shit as well.
      a pitch under 4µm is unacceptable in actual photography.
      those tens or hundreds of megapixels are like shiny objects for buyers who are like crows. they'll look at snapshots on their 2 megapixel phone screens anyway...
      and increasing file size from over 100 mp will force people to buy phones with bigger storage. all marketing. all greed

    • @JohnDoe-fd9vv
      @JohnDoe-fd9vv 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elu5ive the images get compressed down anyway. Most phones store photos into jpeg format, and most phones are starting to average 128gb storage. Not even mentioning all the free cloud storage options available.
      Unless you have an old phone, no one is complaining about storage space for photos anymore.

    Thank you very much for this. It's very clear. The challenge now becomes a quantitative value for those other parameters. What do I look at on the phone's box that tells me how the phone will perform under low light? 50 vs 12 MP is quantifiable. Lumens, are quantifiable. But the other factors such as software quality are not. Do I look at the processor size/speed?

      Application such as DevCheck, it can determine effective megapixels the true ability lens on your phone without calculating Sensors, Pixels binning, Algorithm, interpolation, and so on.
      Mostly the main camera phone is 12MP. And the selfie camera start from 4MP, 5MP, 8MP or 12MP like a Vivo Products.

    Bro I am satisfied with your opinion that more megapixels like 48, 64 , 108 are waste or not good. But I want to tell you that Mi redmi note 10 or cc9 pro has still bigger and better sensor and lenses than Iphone 11 / 11pro. If you use pixel binning technology of mi note 10/cc9 pro to capture image at 27MP resolution with 1.6micro meter pixel size than it will surely be better than iphone's 12MP resolution pic with just 1.4micro meter pixel size.
    and mi note 10 will further enhance with the use of Google camera application and will outperform iphone.
    I am sure because my redmi note 7s can take better low light pictures than my uncle's brand new Iphone 11. (You may see revatlas latest comparison of redmi note 8 and iphone 11 pro primary camera).
    By the way I always love your content and will follow you for all your super tips and tricks.
