    that seem more easy than i expected, and nice advice for the "locking option" to avoid changing pattern
    great video.
    beetween electribe 2 and elektron modelcycle, electribe 2 is winning
    gonna probably go for the electribe 2

    this is the best workflow video i've seen for the electribe, hands down. ive had mine pretty much since release and this set of vids has taught me how to be more efficient with my process. Subscribed ! 👍

      wow, thanks for the awesome feedback & sub. Good luck with your productions, I have more Electribe vids planned but need to focus on some other synths in the near future. cheers.

    thank you for the color knob idea. i used colored sticky labels and a whole punch.

  • @csrader
    @csrader 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can learn something right away without even listening. The power of better labels for the controls (especially if using live). While the minimalist dark tone on tone design might be aesthetically pleasing, it's not practical. I labeled similarly, including using color coding. I also made a template with Word, printed on card stock, to lay over the unit indicating info on the parts. Great intro tutorial!

      i fully agree, I have a video coming soon with some more mods. thx for the comment. :)

    Very clear and concise explanation and love the Taped-On Labels as I am severely Vision Impaired! I'll be busting out the masking tape first thing in the morning with a sharpie to tag my buttons in large print! Peace and best wishes!

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the comment. I think even with great eyesight (which I don't have) you can't read the text on the buttons. So tape is good to begin with, hopefully with time and practise we will memorize what the buttons do. Good luck with your Electribe music!

    Probablly the best demo I've seen ever. I'm just starting out and a friend was selling this for cheap, but idk how to use it if i did buy it. THANKS!

    Good intro to the beast - only thing I would add is that once you set the MFX to Wet reverb you kept the display screen there on the top menu (showing the MFX) - thats because you knew exactly what you were doing.
    For newbies it may have been best to exit that so they can see what you were doing when changing OSCs.
    I will be waiting for the next one and what you do to make a tune.

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's a really good point, you know I never even noticed that! Although when tweaking the sounds I'm not even looking at the screen, just my ears and the knobs, so it doesn't matter what's on the screen. it's boring to see wet reverb all the time though, I agree. :)

    Nice layman friendly demo of the Electribe Woody, thanks. I don't own this particular device but it looks great. I 'try' to create music on Maschine Studio, but that one (I find) has a steep learning curve, would be nice to hear if you've experienced using one?.

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      first comment = extra thanks. No, never tried the maschine, not a huge fan of the NI stuff but haven't really given them much of a chance.

    This was a very useful video. I know I'm four years late, but great job. Quick question.... In this video you created all these custom sounds. Did you just hit the "write" button at the end of the video to save those sound patches? Newbie question I know. Thanks in advance.

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so long ago i don't recall, but yes, you'd normally save your patches!

    • @emilianoescalante4418
      @emilianoescalante4418 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WoodyPianoShack Thanks!!! I guess it is good practice to hit the "write" key often to save progress on custom made sounds. Enjoy your videos!!!

    Is there on Electribe 2 to transpose all synth parts when go in Play the pattern like in the emx?

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, but not by default. you have to edit each part and set some parameter. a real pain, so i never use transpose.

    • @FuckOffTrends
      @FuckOffTrends 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can transpose parts with "scale mode" activated, then you can change the key note

    sweet! one question can you add your own sounds or are you stuck with the ones that come with it

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you cannot add own sounds on the electribe, on the electribe sampler this is possible. but you can synthesize and modify the existing waveforms quite radically.

      don't buy it it's very limited and also doesn't have an song mode i wasted 424 on it if you can find it for like 170 dollars it's worth about that.

    Good tutorial, but I had to keep pausing and going back over and over so that a 12 min tutorial took up more than 1/2 hour. You went WAYYYYYYYY too fast not only in speaking but in dialing / pressing buttons / kets, etc. People need to be aware that when you're making a tutorial, some of us are following in real time trying to replicate what you're doing. By the time, I look back up from my Electribe you've quickly moved on to something else. In addition, it's frustrating to from the start when you state you have pattern lock enabled without explain how you did it forcing me to pause and get the manual out again or look online elsewhere. Again, thanks for this tutorial, but try to slow down and explain things more thoroughly. Thanks.

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi phart, ok, take your point! if i'd have lowered the pace i'm guessing people would complain it was too slow, or just bale on the vid! thx for the feedback :)

    • @Tom-xn9kx
      @Tom-xn9kx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you paused and went back in the tutorial, so what's the problem? I'd much rather have that option over having to scroll through an overly drawn out video that goes on for way too long.
      Listen to how to do the thing, hit spacebar to pause, arrow keys go back and forth 5 seconds.
      Good tutorial Woody!
