I hate how Zebb Wells has said he doesn't even like Ben Reilly so instead of letting someone else write for him he's turning him into a stupidly written villain Ben deserves to be the Sensational Spider-Man, not character assassinated like this
Zeb Wells isn’t the problem, he’s just doing a story that got approved by the higher ups. Seems as if it’s something that they want and Zebb is there to be the one who fans get angry at.
Personally I support ben being turned into chasm as the powers and the suit are amazing, even despite the story being mid at best. It could always be written better. But I believe that as there is the marvel multiverse, that the sensational spiderman should also confront this villainous side of their character in future stories
They are really messing up the chance to capitalize on the buzz from the new generation of Spiderman fans created by the new movies with the boring and stupid stories of this Spiderman and even superior Spiderman I thought really wasn't very good when will they get a half decent writer for Spiderman? there is a huge fan base and even I a huge fan didn't have much of a want to check it out because of how bad it has been and unfortunately I was right I didn't even watch it all because it couldn't keep my attention. Ben was supposed to be how Spider-Man was still who he was if you stripped away all of his support structure. Still a inherently good man, even if he had none of the people he loved. Marvel really screwed the pooch with this whole arch. They should have just sent him on his way again to roam the US and carve out his own like sort of like the 70s hulk TV series. A smaller story, a more personal story, about someone trying to find themselves while simultaneously hiding who they are (a clone of Peter P and another spider powered person).
The only issue would then be that him and Kaine would be sharing the same arcs and the same hero name. Kaine already did an arc of traveling the US to find his place in the world and carve out his own path as more than a parker clone. Hell after superior and right before the return of Oc, Otto did that arc too! If anything, what Ben REALLY needs is to find an identity that is WHOLY his own, or finally reconcile with Kaine so they can be the double scarlet spiders togeather, being the support both have lost over the years.

Even though Kaine is no longer degenerating and isn't technically 'crazy' he still has to live with what he's done. Also, apparently he never got the scientific acumen uploaded into him. That and no spider-sense. Kaine is always going to look for reasons to hate his 'brother'. It actually reflects the contempt he has for himself. He just likes to vent on Ben.

A chasm can be defined as profound difference between people, viewpoints, feelings, etc. So it's like two opposing figures occupying the same body. I think it quite clever

The idea that Madeline Pryor’s story is fixed by giving her some of Jean’s memories but they shrug their shoulders when it comes to Ben is frustrating as hell.
So why couldn’t the have Jean just share peters memories with Ben? And I really wanna know where this Eddie storyline is going and the last version of Eddie from the 7th path they haven’t shown.
I have a theory: Originally, I thought that Ben Reilly is suddenly having a resurgence because people who remember him and were fans of him in the 90's are writing for comics now. But I theorize that the writers weren't fans of him at all. Because every modern appearance of Ben since Clone Conspiracy has painted him as a villain, a jerk, or both. So what if the current writers remember him, but actually hated Ben for daring to claim to be the original Spider-Man and replacing Peter as Spider-Man?
It's not that, its very blatantly obvious to anybody who's read a Batman comic; they're making him into Jason Todd, but following through on it awfully because they don't understand what made Jason a good and interesting character.

The next panel had the punchline! You only told the set up of the joke. He ended it with "that's one to grow on!" Because the commercials during that show would say that on Saturday Mornings.
I like the illustrations of this comic. The choice of colors are cool. I tend to get a little bored of the super-neat pen-and-ink traditional look most superhero comic book artists abide by. I get why. Bold lines. Stark contrasts. It pop on a page. Makes everything legible on a pannel stuffed 6x10 page... But it is nice to get this painterly looking style, too. Everything looks a little more fantastical and fairytale-esque, yet also not cartoonish. And like I said, the colors are great. Ya don't really consider how much extra time/thought/effort gets put into changing chromatics/dramatic-lighting every pannel without seeming inconsistant. And making it look good and artly and not just be a random, distracting mess. I guess the color guy is different than the illustrator in most Marvel comics? Not entirely sure. But I guess if your job is only to color things in, it's not quite as impressive that you'd prefer to be artsy about it rather than repeating the same solid colors/shading.

They ripped his family away and made him insane, he nearly died every time he showed up, and in HiC they turned him into a murderer to try and make an absolutely awful ham-fisted point that being emotionally or mentally damaged meant you needed understanding and healing when you harm others, as if it somehow absolved you of the pain you caused countless others. He was handled horribly for years when he first came back.

People have been complaining to me how much they hate Dark Web. I can kinda see why after hearing the beginning summary. But, after the video, it's not so bad. I thought Ben was kinda cool. Sure they did him dirty but at least he looked cool
Honestly I think it is over hated. Heck it's not even the first time Ben broke bad (clone conspiracy). I'm not saying I love this story or this run, but I don't feel hate or dislike for it either. I understand the complaints, but I don't agree with all of them.
All I got from this is that Peter's an asshole. Like, all he had to do was copy and paste his memories into Ben's mind without removing Ben's personal memories and boom, Ben's problem is solved...but instead he goes "Mmnah, I'm straight?" He CREATED an enemy he didn't even have to create because "herp derp, muh feelings." How is Jean going to freely and willingly share her memories with her clone, but Peter's are just so important and so precious that only he can have the one collection of those memories? After the events of this I figured Kaine would try to sneak into the Limbo Embassy and try once more to kill his 'brother' for his part in this storyline. Maybe Marvel can give us a story on that (hint hint 😁) Probably doesn't need to include the X-Men (even though Madelyne is still the liason) but we all know Spidey would have to get involved.
Madelyne did the same thing to Venom that Beyond Corporation did to Ben and it didn't work out either time. Weird that Janine and Ben participated in that even tho that's what was done to him? low empathy levels I guess.

They ripped his family away and made him insane, he nearly died every time he showed up, and in HiC they turned him into a murderer to try and make an absolutely awful ham-fisted point that being emotionally or mentally damaged meant you needed understanding and healing when you harm others, as if it somehow absolved you of the pain you caused countless others. He was handled horribly for years when he first came back.

People have been complaining to me how much they hate Dark Web. I can kinda see why after hearing the beginning summary. But, after the video, it's not so bad. I thought Ben was kinda cool. Sure they did him dirty but at least he looked cool
Honestly I think it is over hated. Heck it's not even the first time Ben broke bad (clone conspiracy). I'm not saying I love this story or this run, but I don't feel hate or dislike for it either. I understand the complaints, but I don't agree with all of them.

All I got from this is that Peter's an asshole. Like, all he had to do was copy and paste his memories into Ben's mind without removing Ben's personal memories and boom, Ben's problem is solved...but instead he goes "Mmnah, I'm straight?" He CREATED an enemy he didn't even have to create because "herp derp, muh feelings." How is Jean going to freely and willingly share her memories with her clone, but Peter's are just so important and so precious that only he can have the one collection of those memories? Miss me with that narcissistic bulls***
After the events of this I figured Kaine would try to sneak into the Limbo Embassy and try once more to kill his 'brother' for his part in this storyline. Maybe Marvel can give us a story on that (hint hint 😁) Probably doesn't need to include the X-Men (even though Madelyne is still the liason) but we all know Spidey would have to get involved.
