This conversation confirms what I found out about crucifixion many years ago that it was not only extreme violence but also extreme s-x--l humiliation and this is one reason why the 💀 of Jesus is not described as such in Christian literature but rather it's been supplanted by a crucifiction. But the Romans never did perform crucifictions on living persons condemned to the _crux._ As TH-camr Calpurnpiso Giraldo-Vay said in one of his videos, "You _never_ nail someone up as a god for the express purpose of torture!"
we don't hesitate to call forced stripping as assault whether someone is forced to strip oneself or others do the stripping. Except in prison scenarios nowadays since that is deemed "security". but I digress... it is exacerbated, I think, in cultures which have greater modesty values. as a former therapist, sexual assault is more about power than nearly anything else.
Defo a different perspective on the resurrection, and crucifixion, thank you
Thx for listening!
