- Cambridge University has defended 'woke' trigger warnings on some Shakespeare's classic plays, and Laura Ingalls Wilder's 'Little House on the Prairie', to help reduce "psychological distress" to students.
Commentator Emma Webb calls the warnings "absurd", and that the university's new guidance is "weaselly and disingenuous" in claiming that it will improve student attainment and academic freedom.
The university says 'Little House on the Prairie' requires a warning for its "stereotypical depiction of Native Americans", and that there is "no harm in providing a content note".

Perhaps there should be a trigger warning for wokeness.
Just more proof of what a lost cause our universities are.
Trigger warnings are bollocks.
Universities should be about challenging ideas, saying what needs to be said and scrutinising and criticising.
In searching for facts you have to ask uncomfortable questions.
You just know the type of people at Cambridge that made this decision. 25 years ago they would of been laughed out of the University, today people take these fools seriously. A sign of how Poor Cambridge is now perceived sadly.

I'd love to live in Little House On The Prairie. Nobody gave AF about Nike, Reboc, River Island etc and was all fresh air, fresh real food, healthy exercise just going about your daily biz.

All this is the opposite of cognitive behavioural therapy. Instead of administering small amounts of negative stimulus to help the sufferers acclimate and over come they just hide what they fear. How brave.
