    Love your stuff Derek...thank you very much for making it available to people. It's a GREAT review if one has taken courses that taught this material in the past, but then haven't used it in a while. I especially like the way you stress dimensional homogeneity. It's the first step in ensuring the reasonableness of an answer, yet so many people simply neglect it. Off to review Calculus with your material, so thanks again!!!

    Thank you, THANK YOU!! I've seen the 8 videos of Projectile Motion and I understood everything!. At the end all you need to know is X= X0+VoxT+1/2aT^2 (and the same for Y) and then you have to realize when a or V is zero or negative. I hope I can do now some problems of charged particles moving in an uniform electric field.

    wait i dont get why the Final height Y is = 0. Because I start off by finding the height by using this formula v^2=Vo^2 + 2ay, so by rearranging it and substitution i should get:
    y= v^2 - vo^2 / 2(a) which is y= 0 - 151.54 / -19.6 yFinal = 7.73m
    then to solve for time i use t = √2(y)/a so t = √15.46/-9.80 time = 1.26s
    could you please explain what i did wrong? thank you so much!

    @VaisaNacia You probably could. There are usually multiple ways to solve a given problem.

    Hello Derek! Your calculus and Physics videos are terrific! I am taking Physics for Engineers and am struggling with a projectile motion problem involving a projectile object stiking a falling object. Could you please help me with such a question.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    is there any reason why you couldn't use formulas' derived from calculus?
    x=(v^2 . sin2θ)/gravity
    I get the same answer in one formula. Just an idea ^_^

    oh i think i know what i did there! I solved for the apex of the football which is 7.73m which gives me half the time it take takes to reach its maximum distance! 2.51/2 = 1.26s!
    thanks

    when solving the horizontal why is acceleration 0?

    • @usmanafzal5143
      @usmanafzal5143 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      as there in no air resistance considered, there is no other force acting acting on object horizontally except the the force applied (kick in this case) that will make the ball move in the speed as initial velocity horizontally or the speed with which the ball is kicked (horizontal speed) for the whole journey

    What app did you use as your calculator sir?

      @derekowens  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I usually use an emulator program called VTI. I would love to find a similar app for the TI-84 Plus CE.

    How is it possible that every video I watch from you, it feels like I didn't learn anything from the previous one I watched?
