This series is fantastic. I could watch 100 hours of These and never get bored
Seriously! I was thinking the very same thing while I was watching this... :-)
my favourite time of the day, whether it is in the evening back from class or training, or a weekend after-breakfast, it is time to grab the snacks, grab the tea and watch daniel king!
Just I love your videos, initial pieces dropping (music!) sounds, your voice and your drama .... great Mr.King
wow this guy is awesome, I feel like um being coached as um watching his videos, this is premium content👌
I heard about a game of Capablanca where he needed to place a rook on d1 or f1 (I do not remember the side of the board), but doing it would have revealed his plan. So, to confuse his adversary, he tried to castle touching his rook first. His opponent objected the move and made Capablanca to move the touched rook. Capablanca did it, and his opponent fell into the trap, and Capablanca won the game. Have you heard about this story? Is it true? If so, could you show the game? Thanks!
After a long day at work, finally home watching Daniiel King. Wonderful
By the way, the next live Hangout will be on Thursday 16th November at 7pm (UK). I'll post the link in due course. There will be more discussion of Capablanca - and of course you can ask me any questions.
Jose is Castilliano HO'seY NOT Catalan HO'they .... would be glad to stand corrected
All your videos are wonderful .Thank you so much .
This is some very premium content. Great job sir, how did i missed this channel on TH-cam
Nothing beats a great endgame in my opinion. It's my favorite part of the game. Everything quiets down, and subtleties prevail.
Thank you for this useful video. Please share more videos of Capablanca games.
Muy bueno Daniel, como siempre
Love to watch lectures of rook endings played by masters. Capablanca, Rubinstein... everything seems easy, we all know that activity is the king... but... still amazing in XXI century
@Daniel, Carlsen actually quoted the legendary Robert James on Capablanca's technique, saying that his endgame technique wasn't his primary strength. Rather, he reliably went into endgames with nearly imperceptible, yet winning, advantages.
Nice explanations! (And you don't butcher foreign pronunciations like most UK people. Class.)
Thank you! I also try not to stereotype citizens of different countries :)
Reminds me of Kasparov against some computer where out of equal position machine outplayed Kasparov
Very good
Amazing!
BTW, Capablanca was born in Spain (Cuba was still a Spanish province at that time, with the same rights as Andalussia, Valencia or Asturias).
Who cares? He was born in Cuba and he considered himself CUBAN...and that's all it matter.
First time watching a Chessbase / Playchess video. I thought I accidentally started Fritz when the sound played.
Fascinating and instructive, as ever. (Weird sibilants in the audio though.)
Would it be correct to say that Carlsen is like Capablanca on steroids?
A holistic analysis by the University of Aberdeen actually showed that Capablanca was able to bench press 13% more than Carlsen at the age of 23.
+burt591 based on what?
Good election of the positions.
yeah hou lost to Carlsen, kind of similar unpleasant position.
