Officers Thwart a Potential Shooting

Our Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Squad (COPPS) remains committed to resolving issues that could impact the safety of others.
Last week, officers received a tip that a man was threatening to shoot another man in the Griffin Heights Apartments, located at 1010 Basin Street. Officers verified the information and quickly located the suspect vehicle as he pulled into the apartment complex. At the sight of officers, the man abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot before being taken into custody by officers. Additionally, a search of the vehicle yielded a loaded firearm located where the suspect was seated.
