I’m with you in this, at 68, I only just discovered this. I always thought I was an Alpha with some sort of short failings. Now I’m happy to have discovered the truth in my character type. I don’t known if it changes anything however?
Sigmas like to be reserved and held back. Speak when necessary and act appropriately. Any action is caused only when it benefits a sigma and that's how they constantly push forward in life!
You have a good message the only thing is you use the word held back to me that means someone is holding you back. Hold back from something that you are stalking to strike back at the appropriate time.

I disagree, I stayed with a cheater and guarded my heart from being hurt again so my children could grow up with both parents present at the same time, time is precious spending half their time with mom and ½ with pops is different than both 100% of the time. I told her if she cheated I'd do whatever I wanted to do and I did. Is it beta to go out and get a girlfriend and tell your wife about her to show her that being sneaky is uncalled for?

I’m 34 and just finding the sigma personality. I’ve never adhered to a label or stereotype. I’m blown away at how spot on these videos are. Imagine have a 4 or 5 man team of Sigmas. The wonder/damage that could be done! 😮💨
Sigma males are bright and learn from their mistakes. They wont be manipulated, used, or abused again. We all make mistakes, and sometimes, they're whoppers, but a weak, or unintelligent, man never learns from them. He just keeps making them and hopes the results will be different. I always felt those that traveled in packs were not only cowards, but are also less intelligent. Some studies seem to bear this out. It's best to think for yourself and have healthy boundaries.
This is the second video that I have watched in this series and I am amazed. I am a bona fide example of a Sigma Male and didn't realize that there were others like me. It has explained many realities that were slightly hidden. For example: I have only a few friends and I now realize that they are also Sigma Males. It is an unseen bonding agent. I was a Corporate IT executive for many years. However, I had several bosses that, instead of appreciating my skills, somehow decided that I was a threat. Now I know what they saw. I also have several children that have never understood me. They think I am a 'proud man'. I never really quantified my traits and have often wondered what made me somewhat different. Perhaps if I had the benefit of this insight, I could have been a more successful person. Still, it has lifted my spirits. You see, I am 85 and single. Thanks for this series. It is a valuable effort.
One of my most dislikes is when someone tries to convince me to agree or do something when I have already clearly stated my position from the outset. That maybe not anything to do that I am a sigma or not as im not to worried what I am but it is one of my tipping points on tolerating or not tolerating a person or group I should say.
As a sigma I’ve noticed these traits coming in the more I’ve aged and every trait mentioned I can replay my own personal memory of these things happening
After studying this topic for many many months, this is what I’ve come to believe. All men are born as one of the two primary male archetypes, which are alpha and beta. This is why all subsequent archetypes share so many things in common with them. They are the base archetypes that house the personality traits for introversion and extroversion. I believe that subsequent male archetypes such as delta, gamma, omega and sigma, are developed over time based on personal experiences. Which is why you rarely, if ever, find children that would identify as these male archetypes. For example, you’re not going to find a lot of 10 year olds that have the cynical personality traits of a delta..you’re not going to find very many independent and self reliant 10 year olds that would identify as a sigma. I also believe that people who develop into the latter archetypes have experienced more traumatic events in their life such as abuse, neglect, rejection, or betrayal. This what I consider to be the main driving factor in the restructuring of the primary archetypes that we are originally born as. I may be wrong on that last part, but it’s just a hunch that I have. But I think people continue to develop into these personality types throughout their entire lifetime. These are just my opinions, though, and I’m still learning myself. Sorry for the long winded response.
In life pain in inevitable. It’s the Sigmas stoicism that molds our character. We not only confront our pain, we embrace it. A Sigma will reflect, make a conscience effort to understand where and how he went wrong, and take measures to avoid the same error. We don’t have to “feel good” all the time, and accept that kind of thinking is delusional. In pain there is growth, and we never miss an opportunity to grow wiser.

If a guy has to tell everyone he's a sigma, it's a contempt for those of us who are, but don't go around telling people. We just live it. Not brag that we are one of those. Sometimes being that way has it's drawback too.

True. Truth Seekers. Looking for Autonomy. The good thing : we don't deal with Alpha/Beta hierarchy and competition and external recognitions. In fact we appreciate other Sigma males and deal or try to deal our own way. Ash or Milgram experiences is something we try to not fall into. This mindset or personality is something precious nowadays and more people are forced to move this way due to external contrasts or die as a Beta. I discover this Sigma stuff today with youtube algorithm and it sounds good. I guess Sigma women are a good deal too and match each others as a healthy couple.

Wow. The birthday thing is hilarious. I have always felt that way. A few days before my birthday i have been reminding my wife not to do anything for my birthday or even wish me a happy birthday. She says" You're weird" I tell her to me its just a regular day This has been going on for years.
Once your partner cheated you, the trust in her/him has gone forgood. End of relationship. You can try to continue, and to forgive, but the relationship cannot be strong, because you simply don't cheat in a strong relationship.
Although this is pretty accurate for describing us. We don't give it much value. We already know what we are like, its not our problem, we are content and stable in all aspects of our lives.
The being used part has some caveats. Most of the time, absolutely true. I, a sigma, was once picked up by 5 women in Florida at a gas station. They took me to a house and used me like a piece of meat, then left me back at the gas station they found me at. GREATEST NIGHT EVER! (Yes I was single).

I don't know how these characteristics are gathered for an archetype, but they are amazingly gathered correctly. I don't have this feeling of being very alone and unusual anymore. I am happy that I live in this archetype. Especially, today's world, full of simps, really needs this archetype to get more balanced. This is definitly the archetype of the future.
Good points. Sigmas are very selective for friendships and love because they place great value for real sharing and autonomy instead of social/gender disorders and false expectations. They are not needy enough or insecure to fake themselves to meet others' expectations. Due to that they will not always find the match but with maturity they easily accept loneliness as a gift for free living without give up for a good surprise. Pure sigma is an Archetype. Sometimes we could struggle with Beta (or even Alpha) own behaviors. Normal, we are not perfect, just on the path. That's why the internal journey is a gift :D
After watching a video on here my wife asked me is i trust her and I said no. We talked about why and she understood. Before I knew I was sigma I found myself analyzing everyone especially my supervisors in the past. If anything went wrong and I was to get into trouble for standing my ground on what is right and things get out of hand I had evidence to use against my supervisor. I was in that situation and won the fight and end up getting a much better job afterwards. I could of totally destroyed that supervisor but I didn't have to.
Wow! I must be this... causing me problem. Been in a great job as a client manager in an IT company for 5 years. But the MD just sold the company to another. Now I have a new Sales Director and a CEO who are forcing me to attend meetings that are unnecessary and tasking me with process that is putting obstacles in my way and stifling my effectiveness. It feels like they are just trying to throw their weight around and make me tow the line. I'm a straight talker, and I'm just telling them how the reality is. I feel like my personality is going to get me fired in a personality clash.
Thanks for bringing this up. No one is immune to manipulation, regardless of their Sigma status. It's important to be aware of the potential risks out there and be prepared to respond in an appropriate manner.

I have to celebrate this one! This can become a recurring experience throughout life. And a single person at work or in a relationship may try all these pressures. From many people in a serie or from one particular opponent. All this could happen at once or one by one because someone may think if one thing don’t work something else will. Wrong 😂 The funny thing is that this just activates our internal code and makes it much easier to tamp down or nullify the offense, for good!
At work today, two of my coworkers in a different department approached me to reveal that they observed my courage, and the honest manner I was addressing our company's Director and one of his executive managers a couple of days ago. They wondered where I got the confidence from. "I am a sigma male". I told they. They replied: "what is that"? I asked them to go to TH-cam and learn all about SIGMA MALE. Re: #4-I have been working with the same group of people for the last 10 years, and none of them know anything about me. I keep my life away from work private. Everyone else i work with is an open book and they always talk about their lives and what they do to everyone else, but i never say a word about myself. My private life is no one's business except mine. I don't talk about my interests or anything, and if someone graciously asks, most of the time i tell them it is none of their concern and i walk away.
That's good for privacy, but you missing the fun, with the people who you care nothing about. Lern all you can and find the truthful and lier just to find out who's truthful. You may need the observation in the future, but don't tell them anything about yourself.

Sigma men are not against, “negativity.” Only, “chronic negativity.” If a person is not negative when it’s appropriate this indicates to a Sigma male a lack of discernment; but it’s a fine line between a negative situation or environment that is unproductive and will lead nowhere and gossip, however. Sigma males (at least this one) don’t like gossip about other people because we’ve been the target of unspoken misunderstanding and jealousy ourselves. “Do unto others what you’d have them do unto you.” Cutting people slack and getting into their shoes - at least until they prove they don’t deserve it - is a Sigma trait.

My ex had 3 kids and two baby daddies. She’s got nothing in life. No house, no vehicle no savings. Just has three kids. She thought she’d just slide into my life and benefit from my life’s hard work. I own my house, my vehicle and have a decent chunk saved up. She had a complete lack of respect for people’s time. She was late for everything. And she claimed she was the “boss” in this relationship. Needless to say I’m single again. She showed me who she was.

Not having authority over me is why I had to be self employed. You can ask me to do something but don't tell me I have to do something.

I don't know how these characteristics are gathered for an archetype, but they are amazingly gathered correctly. I don't have this feeling of being very alone and unusual anymore. I am happy that I live in this archetype. Especially, today's world, full of simps, really needs this archetype to get more balanced. This is definitly the archetype of the future.
Good points. Sigmas are very selective for friendships and love because they place great value for real sharing and autonomy instead of social/gender disorders and false expectations. They are not needy enough or insecure to fake themselves to meet others' expectations. Due to that they will not always find the match but with maturity they easily accept loneliness as a gift for free living without give up for a good surprise.
Pure sigma is an Archetype. Sometimes we could struggle with Beta (or even Alpha) own behaviors. Normal, we are not perfect, just on the path. That's why the internal journey is a gift :D

After watching a video on here my wife asked me is i trust her and I said no. We talked about why and she understood. Before I knew I was sigma I found myself analyzing everyone especially my supervisors in the past. If anything went wrong and I was to get into trouble for standing my ground on what is right and things get out of hand I had evidence to use against my supervisor. I was in that situation and won the fight and end up getting a much better job afterwards. I could of totally destroyed that supervisor but I didn't have to.

Wow! I must be this... causing me problem. Been in a great job as a client manager in an IT company for 5 years. But the MD just sold the company to another. Now I have a new Sales Director and a CEO who are forcing me to attend meetings that are unnecessary and tasking me with process that is putting obstacles in my way and stifling my effectiveness. It feels like they are just trying to throw their weight around and make me tow the line. I'm a straight talker, and I'm just telling them how the reality is. I feel like my personality is going to get me fired in a personality clash.

I have most of these traits.
At work today, two of my coworkers in a different department approached me to reveal that they observed my courage, and the honest manner I was addressing our company's Director and one of his executive managers a couple of days ago. They wondered where I got the confidence from. "I am a sigma male". I told they. They replied: "what is that"? I asked them to go to TH-cam and learn all about SIGMA MALE. Re: #4-I have been working with the same group of people for the last 10 years, and none of them know anything about me. I keep my life away from work private. Everyone else i work with is an open book and they always talk about their lives and what they do to everyone else, but i never say a word about myself. My private life is no one's business except mine. I don't talk about my interests or anything, and if someone graciously asks, most of the time i tell them it is none of their concern and i walk away.
That's good for privacy, but you missing the fun, with the people who you care nothing about. Lern all you can and find the truthful and lier just to find out who's truthful. You may need the observation in the future, but don't tell them anything about yourself.

Sigma men are not against, “negativity.” Only, “chronic negativity.” If a person is not negative when it’s appropriate this indicates to a Sigma male a lack of discernment; but it’s a fine line between a negative situation or environment that is unproductive and will lead nowhere and gossip, however.
Sigma males (at least this one) don’t like gossip about other people because we’ve been the target of unspoken misunderstanding and jealousy ourselves. “Do unto others what you’d have them do unto you.” Cutting people slack and getting into their shoes - at least until they prove they don’t deserve it - is a Sigma trait.
