@@SaltwaterAngler - Well, a pouting saved me from blanking!! There were 4 gents fishing about 40 years to my right, who caught quite a few bass. I had a few decent bites, but just the pout. They were using fresh lug, whereas I was using frozen blacks, which may have played a part. I may try sneakily float fishing from the harbour arm, as I saw bass surfacing there the other day. For some dumb reason, there is still no fishing from the main arm. I first need to get some live prawns.
The change in species also, conger, smoothound and thornbackback once almost unheard of here in East Sussex are now worth targeting from the shore. Dogfish eating lugworm , all signs that the food is unavailable further out and they are changing their habits . I’ve seen more Sandeels inshore this year than in the past 30 years ! But I think your right something else afoot

Great video. I'm going to fish the tide in at Folkestone tonight. I had a 5lb bass the other day from the same spot, so fingers crossed!

Hi Matt. I’m looking for somewhere to fish next Thursday and wondered if Hastings Pier is open?
No it’s not at the moment. Anything could change at any time with that place though so you never know🤷♂️
