Hi there! I haven’t done an in-depth comparison between the two yet, but my initial impression is that the BTR17 leans less warm while maintaining a smooth sound, it’s not sharper, but rather more neutral overall.
@GadZookz Because a dac and amp only work with wired headphones... If you connected your Phone to the BTR17, then to your Bluetooth headphones all you're doing is bouncing the signal around, you won't get a better or louder sound, you'll increase latency and probably reduce sound quality...
@ actually my iPhone uses the AAC codec. If the DAC/amp transmits with a higher BT ode. Like LDAC, the hi-Res wired connection could be sent to my LDAC supported headphones but only if the device supports BT TX like a number of larger devices
@GadZookz The base signal is still limited to AAC, even if the btr17 converts it, you won't gain data. It's like converting a jpeg to a raw format, all the metadata that it would have if in the original format is compressed and lost, turning it back into a raw file doesn't uncompress the data or in this case signal
Hi I have fiio btr17 and Qudelix-5k + fiio fh9, fiio btr17 has a flat sound, qudelix 5k sounds better! Maybe fiio btr17 is out recently but it will be optimized with time, for now I don't like it.
@@Maver1ck911 Yep I've got the Q5k and the BTR7 and the BTR17 and I think the 17 sounds leaps and bounds better than the Q5k and even better than the BTR7. The Q5k has a nice EQ but it just is average when compared to the fiios, more power means more headroom and they both have more detail and texture, dynamics etc. I even prefer many dongles over Q5k. But it's small and wireless and inexpensive, and has good connectivity. Also do like the latest PEQ from fiio.
@@eatmoreporkporky4342 i can't be bothered with PEQ. I'll just change IEM's. Which filter are you running? I defaulted to Fast (linear) But might use Linear Fast Low Ripple (Fast R)
@Maver1ck911 Fast linear, that's usually what I use. I'm limited in iem selection because of fit problems. My ears are super sensitive so only the smallest and lightest don't bother me. They didn't used to be but I think from all the years of wearing iems it messed them up. Sucks because I will try something new that I like but won't be able to use them. 😕 So eq is pretty helpful for me, plus I'm older and usually boost the high bands a couple decibels.
No. Only reason I got the BTR17 is the aptX lossless support. My phone is one of the few that support it and the creative bt-w6 transmitter works great with it to add lossless support to other devices.
If only it had a digital output, then It could be used with a already existing dac connected with a speaker setup. But thats just nitpicking. The features look near perfect.
Hey yuri, thanks for the review! Do you know if the desktop mode can be used together with bluetooth?
Very strongly inspired by the design of Cowon iAudio X5 classic mp3 player - with a touch of Sony Walkman Daps for the buttons.
I loved those little Cowans. And yes I see it.
Always enjoy a Dac/Amp review 👍
Hi Yuri, how is BTR17 tuning compared to XA02? Is it brighter?

Looks good, thanks! Does it work with Bluetooth headphones?
Dude why would you want to use bluetooth headphones with a dac/amp
@ why wouldn’t I? 😁

Thanks sir, very helpful👌
Wired and wireless features, nice.
How does it fare against the musehifi m5 Ultra?
How does is compare with lbasso dc07 pro then? Thanks.
Musehifi M5 ultra or BTR17? Which one has better sound? Or maybe ibasso dx180 is the best one?

Have the Q5k, BTR7 and BTR17.
Iems are MEST mk2, Radon 6, Evo.
The BTR17 is better than both.

Just on sound
Btr7 v 17, is it worth replacing the 7?
Based only on sound please, your response is awaited.

Yes.
Unless you have low tier iems, the btr17 is an absolute upgrade. If you have KZ and Moondrops don't bother.
Perfect! 🎉
Thanks!

Thx....👍👍👍
Someone compared this whit an Topping DX3?
Great review yuri. The btr17 seems like an end game for most audiophille 😊
Yes not good
How does it compare to ibasso DC elite?
