Instead of looking at the Hopsin situation in a monetary sense, he looked at it in a business sense. Tech didn’t make it this far and stay relevant this long by making bad business decisions. He looked at the big picture and realized there’s a good chance that signing Hopsin has a chance of driving a wedge between himself and the aforementioned artists. The artists he’s friends with and has profound respect for.

Reason being is because he offered Hopsin the position already at Strange in 2010, but Hopsin declined and decided that he wanted to do the Independent thing (which Hopsin addressed in ILL Mind 4). With Swizz not being active and Dizzy dedicating himself to Dame; Jarren Benton would really be the only logical option at this point.

I've known about Tech for a long time. I didn't get into his music because of his physical appearance and I thought he was Devil worshiper. However, as I got older decided to check his music out and I realized that I was judging the book by its cover. It also made me realize that I was unintentionally being hypocritical because Bone Thugs N Harmony was my favorite group and they was making tracks about Mr.Ouija and ICP well their albums were hella filled with those things as well lol. Anyways I started looking into his music more and realized how dope Tech was. My favorite thing about him though is how real he is. You can tell by his reasoning in this interview that he values friendship over money. Yeah he could sign any of those artists but respectfully decided not too. He has been through alot especially with his mom passing and his family turning on him over the money stuff. Regardless if you like his music or not, you have to respect him as a man and and not change for the negative even though he had great reason too.
Hop already had the chance to sign with Strange Music before and he turned them down unfortunately. He didn't wanna follow in their path cause he wanted to create his own path
