As a 70 year old tubist who started 3 years ago I found this helpful. Since my tuba is not to hand, I just buzzed along on the old Helleberg; a useful experience in itself. Pay no attention to the haters: it's always easier to tear down than to build up and if they were any good they'd have their own YT channels. You've given me the spark to start my morning practise.
I enjoyed this video. I just started playing trombone, but I'm interested in all instruments (and play a few others). However, I was surprised that nothing was mentioned about how one can play both B-flat and F using the same fingering (or, more accurately, lack of it)--that is, the lips play a vital part in obtaining the different notes.
as a brass player of 60 years I know that a lot of embouchure depends on the shape of your mouth. also the fingering you are using is not the same for all keys as treble clef is different F 1 F# 2 G 0 or 13 G# 23 A 12 or 3 A# 1 or 123 B 2 or 13 C 0 or 23 C#12 or 3 D 13or1 D# 23 E12 or 3 E. I dont read any other as this is the way i learnt and have played all of the keyed brass instruments. your sound was very unstable so you should practice buzzing with out a mouth piece for long constant notes!
Nice demonstration; however, he could improve his tonal quality by dropping his jaw to open his airway. As it is, his notes sound "pinched off." This is a common problem for beginners.

realize he is in a very poor sounding room and that does affect the sound for sure.
