Great score on the loader. I used to work at asphalt plant and moved up to 400 ton of different gravels an hour in various models of loaders. Money saving tip: Use the machines weight to get first two thirds of bucket, hit pile at some speed. Than lift while moving forward and tilt bucket slightly down and than back up. Full easy scoops every time. If you keep trying to run it like a dozer your tranny will not last long. Like the super pro who had 10's of thousands of hours running one and trained me in said "if your tires spin, you are doing it wrong and the machine will let you know by breaking down".

Driving out of our neighborhood yesterday and we see a man with a chain around a stump and he’s looking at the bumper of his truck that’s obviously been ripped nearly in half. My wife says, “he could use a mini-excavator” Very proud moment for me. Thanks for the solid year of entertainment Andrew.
To whom ever is actively flying the drone now, you're doing good work. If I may offer a little constructive feedback, one of the things that makes Andrew's channel so great is his wide, static shots. I'm not used to the constant motion in the latest videos. It is okay to just park the drone somewhere and move as needed when he goes out of frame. Just my two cents.
The drone is definitely AI controlled. You can tell because it can't really tell the whole picture, just keeps adjusting the speed on a second to second basis.
I grew up operating these Cats, awesome power and durability. Change fluids, filters, grease regularly and operators seat frequently, they bounce a lot in third gear lol. 3 speeds forward and 2 speed reverse. be cautious on downshifting speeds, idle down the engine before shifting. Enjoy this great piece of iron history.
I see so many TH-camrs who make a video about buying a machine like this, but then you never see it on a job. They just 'own it and have plans for it' that seldom seem to happen. Andrew puts them to work.

@@herrht Yeah, why are people so fixated on "where" the exhaust gas goes? While we are on the topic, what is with this universal fascination with celebrating the "waste" cycle of the internal combustion engine? The "Power" cycle seems to me more like it should be the focus of our excitement, not the "hee hee hee it makes a farting sound when it exits the combustion chamber" cycle.
What I thought when I bought my 99 C7500 dump truck. Had been an AT&T line truck and the dump bed dealer that installed the bed said they had serviced it during its life with them. They hadn’t! $10k later she is good( and paid for)
Being articulated is a good feature and it seems like that wheel loader can do some dozer work. LED lighting swap on your equipment would be a important upgrade the tech is matured.
It could have been on auto pilot, it seemed too herky jerky keeping the subject in focused in the frame though. But either way whether it was auto pilot or not, it was definitely awesome and a nice touch.
Seeing Levi tottering about on his inspection tour brought back vivid memories of my Labrador Sam at that same age - 15. It gets really tough for them at that great age (for a Lab), but they refuse to give up.

“Honey, Watcha watching?” Me, “Oh, just watching Andrew getting ready to dig up the other side of the mountain.”, Honey, "OK il be in the bedroom banging Lamar, enjoy jerking off to a tractor"
Every AC video has a dozen of the same comments: - my wife: watcha watching honey? - me: I’m watching Andrew do something with a machine, and dirt is involved.

Great video, I was so happy that the majority of the video you did not play a bunch of annoying background music. I found a good channel called western truck and tractor. The guy work's on everything, shows and talks a lot about the stuff he works on, and I like the fact that he work's for himself in a field, or in his shop. Thanks, and hope levi has many more birthdays, he is a good ole boy. God bless.
Andrew is smart to purchase the older equipment as it is easier to maintain in the long run and doesn't have a complex computer system involved in the workings. The biggest complaint about the newer equipment is the fact that the owner is held hostage by the dealership with a lack of technicians to come out to service the breakdown and the very high cost. Doing repairs in house is more cost effective and a time saver, especially if the dealer can't send out a technician for many days due to high demand. Not having computers controlling the machine and the diesel exhaust fluid requirement is a big plus for the owner/operator. Buy all the old equipment you can and hold on to it as it is becoming difficult to find as many contractors are not turning in the older more simple machines from the 70's and 80's. The older machines sit better if not used a lot and usually fire right up after months of idling. Andrew is building a good fleet of machines to tackle any job that is presented to him. Keep the videos coming.
Having a dedicated drone operator has really stepped things up the last few videos. Tracking shots, leading / following, orbits etc. Noticed it a lot on the barn video too.
You know you've been watching Andrew for a long time when you remember Levis Birthday Videos. Nice Loader Andrew, sounds solid and looks to have decent power. Also great Drone Footage of the Tractor working.
Motor sounds good, it digs into the pile really well and doesn’t sound sloppy in the joints. That seems like really good condition for the age. Well cared for. Good buy.
7 years?? Wow. I get allready tired of it after a couple 10-12hr days. Its fun on the first day but very repetitive after that. Also my back starts hurting from the unequal position. The arm on the steering is allways higher than the one on the leavers. I am always amazed how people have the mental capacity to do those jobs for long time periods.
I ran a 992 for several years in a cement plant before getting off shift and into the electrical trade. Only thing bigger is the 994s they bought soon after I left that job which are the biggest loaders cat makes. Fun for the first few hours.

Love watching your films from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Also feeling a bit jealous watching you do things you could never 'just do' over here. Andrew - you have given Levi a good long life. Have had black Labs most of my life. The oldest was 20 days short of his 15th birthday. Hopefully Levi makes it a long time.
I've had the smaller version of that for about 25 years now. A Swinger loader which hauls one yard or about 2200 lbs. I don't know how we would get along without it. Best machine in the woods ever. Added a Cat 307 excavator last year and a sawmill this year. I think we're all set. Nice find bud👍😎👌
Hes actually so capable of fixing anything that could possibly go wrong that he's saving a ton of money buying old used heavy equipment or anything actually. Old snowmobiles side by sides, .4 wheelers, boats everything he's pretty much ever bought he can fix.
Master forgive me, I've had this wrong all these years. You don't buy a huge yellow thing and then get a grease gun to fit, what you should do is buy a monster grease gun rig and then keep buying big yellow things that fit it! Now I see!!
It's good to see Andrew driving something with wheels on a job site every now and then. I'm so used to his skid steers and his other heavy equipment with tracks 🤓
Andrew, a very nice finish, the ascending drone shot over forest land: A beautiful spring coming into summer and yet sadly a winter's bite is also inevitably on the way. Always nice to see your Levi.
She's a beast! New tires, a few gallons of yellow paint, and some kind of exhaust system to replace the one that fell off and she'll be a ripper Andrew.
That old loader should have a foot-button to kick it in "low gear dig" mode. it saves your drivetrain and gives that little extra -oempfh- to take the scoop ( and blade down a little bit ) , shaves off a lot of time on a day of digging.
@@AndrewCamarata should be , but there is a good chance that there is, or was a foot switch near your left foot. ( it forces the drive into 1 when your on auto-drive . Carpel tunnel both hands / wrists. Neck pain all the time.could have been the wife but got rid of her and neck issue still there LOL. The list goes on so I feel bad for oh levi.every painful step he takes reminds me of many painful steps I took before replacements and actually still have since them.so they don't solve all the pain but sure is alot better than before .
The 930 Articulated front end loader is an all time favorite go to for me! It's powerful and more maneuverable. Not so hot in the winter if it doesn't have a heater is that steel is like concrete zaps the heat right out of your feet!
Andrew excellent and entertaining video. Love the new floating camera view, almost to much lol started to feel sea sick lol. Good to see Cody & Levi, sweet puppy’s. Levi looking pretty old these days, poor puppy. Looks like he is coming to an end, in a couple more years. Always breaks my heart to see them struggle in their later years.
Great video. High quality camera work. And thanks for keeping the focus on the machine and the job. No unnecessary yakking like so many other producers.
So sad Levi passed almost exactly a week later. Goes to show you never know. But we know he had a great life, most of it is on video. Great guy, great dog. Cody has some big paw prints to fill.
I dont know about that exact one, but generally older wheel-loaders kinda dislike changing forward/reverse when in motion, both the driveshaft and the converter takes a beating when doing so. just something to keep in mind. love the vids, been following for years.
He buys a machine and immediately puts it to use (after greasing). There is no better way to tell whether a machine is in good shape or not. Whether the joints rattle or not will be an indication of how long it will be before line boring is on the menu. Looks like a good, strong. solid machine.
Yes, that was the exhaust pipe. You can see it fall off a couple seconds before. Apparently because it was too hot to handle with his hands at the time, he kicked it out of the way so he didn't run over it.
@@AndrewCamarata even the new cats come loose, they are friction fit. ive ran over 4 or 5 off my 986, our mechanics now zip in a couple self tappers through on the hood so i doesn't keep pushing out a bit every time hood comes down then eventually falls off
Just another suggestion, when loading the bucket try to avoid spinning tyres as that wears them out fast, the trick is to start lifting the bucket when it's half full and your still moving forward. Also with your bulldozer work, speed wears out dozer parts fast.
There's a big difference between functional fitness, and moving weight. I can tell you there's a lot of super strong guys in the gym, who wouldn't know how to properly apply their strength to seemingly simple tasks. So many things are perplexingly more complicated to move than they seem
Definitely not. Farm strength and gym strength are not really that related. You can be strong on the farm but most likely your gunna be weak in the gym.

Great Lab inspection, Levi is doing great.
Driving out of our neighborhood yesterday and we see a man with a chain around a stump and he’s looking at the bumper of his truck that’s obviously been ripped nearly in half.

Very proud moment for me.

LOL please go into comedy
No not really. He just makes videos about it.
Andrew has a wider window of "acceptable" since he can fix almost anything necessary. He also doesn't mind a headache or two.
Hi,no matter if it was greased, bushings still wear out.And big machines take big repair tools to fix.I would change all the fluids too.

Neat front loader. I always smile when I see Levi. Happy Birthday to him. Thanks, Andrew.
Whoever not whomever. And I agree, I was getting motion sickness.
@@itsnetts You can see who's flying the drone at 44:13 in the barn video

If you look carefully, you can see that Andrew has the drone controller with him in the cab of the loader. Andrew is flying the drone!
Yup. Andrew makes his machines earn their keep. They aren't on his land for a free lunch.
For a dog lover you sure do have a lot of cats 🤣
The right front tire needs to be looked at. It was squatting more than the left front.

I thought the same thing, but I am sure he already took care of it, because he beats the heck out of his stuff, but does all the maintenance.

@@johnkruton9708 Exhaust gas would leave the engine anyways, no need for unnecessary fancy pipes, they are just trouble
$10k later she is good( and paid for)
Boy is that ever true
Convinced myself once on a boat and motor with no compression 🤦🏼🤦🏼
Being articulated is a good feature and it seems like that wheel loader can do some dozer work. LED lighting swap on your equipment would be a important upgrade the tech is matured.
Having someone fly the drone around while you worked was a nice touch. Shows all different angles while doing the work.
Thought Andrew was doing both...:)
Drone was on one of several "auto pilot" settings.

I agree that's the best thing for him with all those machines is that large Grease caddy. They used them in the 1950-60. Good job Andew!! All the best from Canada
God bless Levi. Still does his best, to be with you when you include him, which at his age is not as easy as it used to be. Give him a gentle Hug for me..
Levi is probably the most loved star on UTUBE. I tear up watching how he's calling.
If a Maximum Overdrive event ever happens, Andrew will be in deep trouble.
thats why he built his home from steel
The real question is what machine would be in charge? I would think it would be his new track loader, Things a monster!
Good thing is he can outrun about 75% of the machines!

I was wondering about that. Is it a person or a new autonomous program?
I think it's a feature of the drone. Follow mode, circle mode.
You know you've been watching Andrew for a long time when you remember Levis Birthday Videos. Nice Loader Andrew, sounds solid and looks to have decent power. Also great Drone Footage of the Tractor working.

I drove a CAT 980 for a logging outfit for 7 years. Hard to believe they actually paid $$ to play in it all day!
7 years??

She's a beast! New tires, a few gallons of yellow paint, and some kind of exhaust system to replace the one that fell off and she'll be a ripper Andrew.
That old loader should have a foot-button to kick it in "low gear dig" mode. it saves your drivetrain and gives that little extra -oempfh- to take the scoop ( and blade down a little bit ) , shaves off a lot of time on a day of digging.
nope, not all, that is an add on feature. usually only bought by larger companies as it's an expensive option
It seems like it’s geared plenty low in first gear, and all you Gotta do the change gears is twist that shifter.

Was that your exhaust pipe that was on the ground? Cracks me up, he just kicks it aside and keeps on working.....
Yes, that was the exhaust pipe. You can see it fall off a couple seconds before. Apparently because it was too hot to handle with his hands at the time, he kicked it out of the way so he didn't run over it.

Just another suggestion, when loading the bucket try to avoid spinning tyres as that wears them out fast, the trick is to start lifting the bucket when it's half full and your still moving forward. Also with your bulldozer work, speed wears out dozer parts fast.

The term farm strength pops into mind - he’s probably stronger than 80% of the dudes in the gym
So true
We call it “farm fit”
There's a big difference between functional fitness, and moving weight. I can tell you there's a lot of super strong guys in the gym, who wouldn't know how to properly apply their strength to seemingly simple tasks. So many things are perplexingly more complicated to move than they seem
Working builds those stabilizing muscles. Moving weight in the gym makes muscle for show.
Definitely not. Farm strength and gym strength are not really that related. You can be strong on the farm but most likely your gunna be weak in the gym.
