Chris is wonderful and if he wants to switch cameras and he shares his experience with us, I love it. Keep the wonderful videos coming, best wishes and much appreciated, Kyle 🙏
Is this your 5th camera system in six years? There seems to be a connection with "content creators" and churning through equipment, perhaps for click bait? Did you not already have Fuji a few years ago and gassed on why you dumped it. Did you not say a year or two ago that you were not going to do equipment reviews and focus on the art of photography? Did you not say less than a year ago you were done with putting out content? In real life, paid photographers and hobbyists do not change equipment systems every year. If not for the likely click bait label one could conclude you do not have a very good assessment of the equipment you need and thus not worth listening to.
I swear youtube recommended me a video from him about buying an X-T1 in 2024 or something, and how it's his favorite camera. They must be really bored with photography when they change systems all the time. Probably chasing what they once felt when they were new to photography and everything was magical, the feeling of your first real camera and so on.
Everyone is entitled to change their mind. His decision seems pretty reasonable, he missed and preferred his Fuji cameras. He doesn't need to justify it any more then that. He's also not just a photographer, he's also a content creator and content creators switch systems every 2 years or they have multiple systems. Regular people shouldn't and won't switch systems with them. It's good in a way as I'll never buy any leica as they are a waste of money (in terms of value in comparison to other cameras) but it's interesting to see his opinion when he did switch. Take it all for what it is and enjoy the content or don't watch. All the best.
If Chris was chasing the latest and greatest you could possibly have a point, but he's using a 2012 body and a cheap F1.8 lens. This is not a click bait channel, just a guy getting called back to an older system most pros discarded years ago. I have an XT-1 and an X-Pro1, I also have a more modern Canon R6, which got me an ISO 25600 shot the other morning, which cleaned up amazingly. But, I still get a calling to those early Fuji sensors, which have produced some of my favourite shots of the kids, and I don't know why. They just look better, I can't explain myself properly, they stand out.
Dr., we all get what your saying, but with all do respect ..Did you watch the video? It should have have answered a few things for ya. I understand your love for Fuji cameras. I love my XE-2 and XT-2, and if either of them died, I’d go out and buy another one. As someone who started off shooting Kodachrome 64, Fuji just feels right to me. I never felt this way shooting any other camera brand. They make shooting photos fun again for me.
I gave you a thumbs-up for your video. You and I have the same story when it comes to camera brands. I have tried most of what is on the market-even Hasselblad. My first Fujifilm camera was the X-T1, and the images it produced were indeed an "Wow" experience. I have been a professional photographer for almost seven years and now shoot with the Fujifilm X-Pro3. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I've been following your videos for a long time and I like them, or rather I like the content you share. But I do sense some contradictions in them. You spend a lot of time on things that you yourself say you don't need to spend much time on. And you go round and round in circles. Plus, I don't think anyone would mind if you said you love the X-T1 and Hasselblad, but now you love the X-T5. They all fit on the shelf. You don't always have to find the new at the expense of the old, they can fit next to each other!
Hey Chris! I'm really happy with you and feel the same way about Fujifilm. Every time I tried a different brand or system, I was searching for the same aesthetics and experience that Fujifilm offers. In the end, I decided to stop looking for the perfect camera and stick with my trusty Fuji friends (I have the T2, E2, and M1), which provide everything I need from a camera system. P.S. Don't let the negative comments get to you. It's unfortunate that some people feel the need to spread negativity. Keep your passion and enthusiasm! You're the best.
I had a few Fuji cameras and eventually traded them all in for a Leica Q. It was great but I missed the Fuji experience so I sold that and bought an XT5. Sometimes you need to spend time with other cameras to see if its really what you want. I dont understand the negativity in some of the comments. Its a free country and you can buy and sell as you please..like you've said before Chris it's a photography channel, not a Fuji channel. Keep them coming mate 😊📷
I am speculating that Fujifilm did not offer a vertical grip on the X-T5 in order to differentiate it from the "flagship" X-H2 and X-H2S. All previous X-T series cameras: 1, 2, 3, and 4 offered vertical grips. I insist on vertical grips because I do candid people shots and using a camera w/o a VG is very awkward and is painful if done for long periods of time.
I went from Fuji to Sony, for about two months, then back to Fuji (X-T5). I print a lot of A3+ and love the quality. Having said that, I print A3 from my iPhone 15 and more than happy with the prints. You go with what you feel comfortable with and have always regretted selling my X-T2. Good video and thanks.
buying used Fujis brought back the fun in fotography for me. XPro 2 and 18-55 kitlens for 750 €, XH1 with grip and Viltrox 56mm f1.4 for 800 €. Meanwhile i got the 8mm, the 18mm 1.2, the 23 mm f2 and the 70-300 zoom.
I sympathise with you, and am grateful for your candour. Yeah, of course, "use what you have, stop switching" would be the only rational mantra,. BUT in this hobby/profession, most of us have a sentimental or even passionate approach of gear. GAS is in photographers DNA, and, as far as I go anyway, this has been the case forever. I remember switching from Contax/Yashica to Nikon to Pentax to Rollei to Canon to Minolta to Leica back in the film days depending on irrational notions of privileging contradictory priorities such as film size, body size, features, technology, innovation, tradition, build quality, haptics, optical perfection, etc. Same in the digital age. But going "back" from digital Hassy to APS-C, that is a brave move, especially for a landscaper! I've tried Fujifilm X, liked some aspects but really dislike the build quality and haptics (X100 series, X-T2, X-Pro2 bodies and prime lenses): they promise a "vintage" "tight" experience but feel like laggy hollow toys. I am now a Nikonian and have been for quite a few years now. I hope I've stabilised, but, boy, I'd love an Hassy.... 😅
Not used the X-T1 then? Admittedly it has a far superior build quality to the newer models, but I had an X-T5 and I see very little difference m, it was well made, it stood up to heavy handling, knocks etc. I have also has X100T & V an X-Pro2 and 3, X-T2 and an X-E4 all great cameras to use. I started my photographic journey with a Praktica which was built like a tank and my shoulders and arms knew it after a few hours lugging that thing around…no I prefer the lightweight but still well built Fujifilm
@ oh, all systems are great these days, and cater for different preferences. Just saying I personally did not mesh with Fujifilm X for reasons stated, despite liking some aspects (size, design, small primes and the whole "film simulation" universe - my classic chrome stills in particular keep standing out when I zap through my library).
I have so much love for Fuji I got the XE-1 and the XPro-1 and I have Sony cameras the A7 & A6700 The Sony is really powerful but every time i use Fuji i feel inspired to do photography It’s like a magic i can’t explain at all I hope to get my hands on a new Fuji like XT5 or maby a future XPro-4 in the upcoming future The thing is Fuji is wonderful to use specially for Street Photography i encourage any one who wants to feel inspired to get his/her hands on any Fuji camera because carrying a Fuji is a blessing to use for no matter what a photographer would like to photograph…
Funny! Last year I sold my Sony full frame camera and some decent Sigma Art and Sony- G-Master-lenses and bought an X-T5 and some lenses; Voigtländer 18mm Color-Skopar, Voigtländer 27mm Ultron, Fuji 23mm f2, Fuji 35mm 1.4, Fuji 56mm f1.2, Fuji 90mm f2 and I am really happy with that setup; lightweight and still decent enough.
I think you’re a chronic switcher. You literally used that Hasselblad for 2 months … but I can relate 😂 I’ve gone from Fuji medium format to Nikon zf and couldn’t be happier - I can use vintage glass or new. It’s small and perfect.
I think I always have the Fujifilm x system in the back of my head - and nothing else has been as good. Am pleased to have tried so many cameras, have enjoyed the journey a lot. Am happy to be back with Fujifilm again though 👏
I suspect Hasselblad asked for their gear back once his influencer loan was over. Many of these folks just churn, churn, churn through the gear to earn a buck. Nothing wrong with that - but let’s get real here.
@@pdcorlis What a stupid ill informed comment, you clearly don't know what an influencer is, just unsubscribe real photography channels don't need idiots like you..
First of all Chris Orange, you inspired me with your love of the older Fuji cameras, which you were receiving through the post, and unboxing. I too am a huge follower of Fuji, and purchased the XE1 brand new.back in the day. Then you recently (it seems )sold all your Fuji cameras, and moved to Leica I think. Then you got upset with the comments and turned them off. Before you did this some one said you will sell Leica and buy Hasselbladd. You actually did this it appears. But in between you went to Panasonic. Then back to Fuji and the XE1. But that changed to the XT1. Surely you must see you have GAS. Its not a criticism. I have gas too. So if you search XE1 or XE2 there will be two sets of videos as its gone full circle. So people will criticise. Many people also would have purchased cameras you recommended. And you also said you were over gear reviews. Full circle.
Things that you can’t avoid in life, death, taxes and this dude changing camera brands lol! Having said that, I love the vibe. Who says you have to stay on one thing? Life is too short. Do what makes you happy!
You said it Chris. What I have felt about my Fuji's since I first found them. There is something inherent and analogue which Fuji manages to expertly marry with the digital future without making it clinical and stark, or washed out and boring. Photography for me is the artistic expression that resides in my heart and has found no other way to get itself out into the world. Expressing what my soul feels through my eye and Fuji conveys that the best for me.
Hi my friend been following you for a long time. I have a 16mm f1.4 that was barely used if your interested. Cheers from Canada. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on your new purchase. I wondered if you would return to Fujifilm. Good decision. Great camera. I have used Fujifilm for 11 years. I bought an x-t5 just under 2 weeks ago. Fantastic. Make sure you upgrade to firmware 4.1. Enjoy it.
Congratulations. I loved this move. I'm one of those old guys who have very much fun using my Fujifilm cameras, so I agree with the reasons you give for your choice. Looking foreward for more videos to come.
Hey Chris. Welcome to XT5ville. I have two of them. One silver one black. One in my prime kit, one in my zoom kit (of course there are crossover situations). I’ve been a Fuji shooter since the XT1 was relaeased. I’ve owned XT1, 2, 3 and now 5’s, plus XE2s and XE3. But I’ve slimmed down to the two T2’s to reduce the operational confusion. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.
I was in Park Cameras the other day playing with some possible Sony and Nikon step-ups from my X-T5. But honestly, they all seemed to have subtle issues. Just stuff like how the Sony cameras gave my fingers almost zero wiggle room between the grip and lens, or how almost none of the Sony or Nikon options have a decent tilt screen. Maybe I'm just more used to the ergonomics on my X-T5 (especially with the smallrig gip), but I left the shop liking my beloved X-T5 more than when I went in. My passion, mostly is for the kind of photos people were taking more than half a century ago. So I'm kinda over things like fretting about crop sensor dynamic range.
I haven't tried one yet, but it is the ONLY camera that 'checks all the boxes' (though my XE4 has a my preferred form factor). The screen articulation, the color, OIS, size....it really is a great setup. Thanks C.O. !
Hi! I'm glad you're back and I'm refunding my subscription) Oh yeah, I've noticed Fujifilm for a long time and always wanted to try it. I bought an x e2 and am waiting for a Ttartisan 35mm 1.8 af II lens. Thank you for making a video about this lens and for using it with an old camera. Good luck!
The TTArtisan f/1.8 lenses are what I like to call "modern vintage". They have characters and good build quality but with autofocus. That 35mm should go well with your X-E2.
At 80, I was not a pro photographer until I turned 50. And I, too, lusted for Hasselblads. I was shooting with Nikons since 1970, then added Hasselblad to launch my new career. I loved the 'Blad system. The prints from that film were exquisite! When I retired a few years ago, I sold all of that, including a Wisner 4x5 field camera, and bought a FujiFilm X-Pro2 with a few lenses. I've never looked back. Light, beautifully engineered, great color, the retro look of a rangefinder ...
The problem is not you changing brands. The problem is you making a new video EVERY TIME that happens. Keep making camera gear videos but just stop with the "WHY I SOLD ALL OF MY (CAMERA BRAND) GEAR" videos. Enjoy the X-T5, I own one and love it too.
I have no problem with using new and different cameras. Its the hype which comes with each new acquisition only to ditch it months down the track which is disconcerting.
Been using the fuji X system for about 8 years eventually to the X-H2 and the usual three red badge lenses. I kept my Nikon lenses (just in case) but this January I sold the lot for the X-T5 and now all Fuji. Now retired its all I need Great video
Chris. I enjoyed this episode. After years with Canon I had dalliances with Fuji and Sony. The Sony gear I had to sell when we put our house on the market and at the same time discovered the floors it two bedrooms had structural flaws. Bed legs going through boards ain't a good look. I'm now very happy with my X-T5 and X-E4. Not going to change. The value in the system is in the Fuji and third party glass as well as the colour science etc. With the latest AI noise reduction and resolution enhancement in Light Room and DxO sensor size is becoming less important. Yesterday I went back to an image from 2020 taken on a Canon RP. The noise reduction in LR changed it (mist, a wooded lane, horses and pretty poor light) into something worthy of printing. New world. And maybe stop fanning around with the system changes. Gear reviews fine. I'm getting dizzy old bean.
I just loved the images and wanted to use the system. I used to have a couple of GFX cameras, so likes the medium format. But, I prefer APSC for all round camera use
Pleased you are using what you enjoy, The X100VI (i've had for almost a year) maybe the last camera i buy (until it breaks)... and i shoot professionally I have 2 X-T3s that again wont be replaced till they break If I'm ever rich GAS would probably take me to a GFX (or Hasselblad) but I know i'd hate the weight... If i can do a job with just the X100VI i will (I have the TC to give me the option of the 23mm F/2 and 33mm F/2 ) I only use the X-T3s for video work and when i need to shoot wider (using the 10-24) or longer using the 56mm, but they are mostly used for video now
I think I'm gonna sell all my Super old cannon cameras get rid of some old nikon cameras just to get the junk out and just strictly focus on Fuji x Mount crop sensor until I make the big buck 💸 Stepping up to GFX medium format for the details 🎉 best images for the money 💰
Pros do usually need more and duplicate gear, but yes, they have terminal GAS. They need the content... But on topic, Fujis were recently seen as the more affordable alternative to Leica. Now they are ridiculous. Even the used prices of old Fujis. I went OM system
@HughRogers609 I agree that professional photographers need backup gear, etc. Orange seems to switch gear more for clicks or perhaps gas that any professional requirement. As for Fuji prices, I agree they have gone a bit crazy lately, but they give such nice results that if you can score a mint condition one, they are still more affordable than many comparable cameras of the same quality. My X-H1 is built like a tank, has every feature necessary, gives beautiful results, and can still be purchased at a relatively good price. It's all relative. Try buying a 1963 split window Corvette Stingray for anywhere near its original purchase price.
I have an X-Pro 2 and I love it. I live in a fantasy world where FujiFilm will eventually come out with an X-Pro 4 and I will buy it. I am a shooter not a video photographer, I love the live view. X-T5 looks to be an amazing camera with amazing features but as long as my X-Pro 2 keeps working, I will not be buying one.
Ah, ADHD strikes again. It can be a curse. I find methylphenidate helps hugely. I owned an X-T5. It really didn’t gel at all. If money wasn’t an issue I’d switch to a Z8 and return to Nikon. Presently use X-H2 and X-T3. Been through the mill gear wise over the years. Missed the point with it all.
I LOVE my x-t5s More than any Canon or Fuji I have ever used. Workhorses - got the backup one used (that way both bodies can be set up the same way). Why x-t5? They are simply a pleasure to use, like driving a car you actually enjoy driving.
Fujifilm cropped sensor x-trans 1,2,3,4,5,6??? 😂 and a medium format cameras GFX 50's for $2,000 grand and GFX 100S FOR I.D.K. $3,000/$3,500 HUNDREDS OF 💯 DOLLARS 💸 USED IN Amazingly perfect conditions 😮
I totally agree with you Chris, I’ve been through a few brands and models too but always levitate back to Fujifilm. This started with the X100 and never went away, I thought you need help 😆 stop changing your kit but it’s just made me appreciate Fujifilm even more. X100V, X100VI(present from my Dad) and my most recent purchase the XT5 with a 33mm lens for the same reasons as yourself. They’re just brilliant, one thing I’m loving is experimenting with the recipes. 👍🏻

Hi Chris, I kind of guessed you would return to Fujifilm in full. You’ve been through nearly as many camera brands as me! I was a Fujifilm shooter for quite a while but through various routes, I’ve ended up with Nikon z and a Ricoh GRIIIX. I think the only move I would make away from Nikon Z would be to Sony. I like their small form factor and the autofocus is stellar. You need to be happy with the camera in your hand so I’m pretty sure you’ll be happy back in Fujifilm world.
I am trying to understand the psychology behind your, lets say, aversion to take the Hasselblad on shoots. Was it the price of the camera and you worrying about that something could happen to it? Or was it maybe the fact you easily got the images that you wanted out of the Fuji because you are so familiar with it? While at the same time you secretly feared to not get those images out of the much more expensive camera system? Just speculating.
good decision! I also have the X t5. Unfortunately it is very complex / complicated camera and has some / many defects. but this is a great camera. ( I am a professional photographer)
I have the X-H2... (which I'm very happy with). Along with Fuji's F1.4 r 23mm LM WR, it's a great combination for landsacapes. Would be interesting to see a comparrison with the XT1 Chris. Would also be great to hear your thoughts on combining the older Fuji lenses with 40mp - I know some reviewers were concerned that the older lenses might not cope with increased resolution.. Thank you, it's always helpful to hear your thoughts, (still enjoying using your R3 B-3 Classic Chrome recipe, the results are so often amazing!)

Meanwhile i got the 8mm, the 18mm 1.2, the 23 mm f2 and the 70-300 zoom.
I totally agree, use the camera that you enjoy. They are tools, but the right tool is a joy to use and allows us to focus on the work.
Got my first Fuji, an XT100 in 2018. Now I've had my XT 5 for almost a year. Just plain love it.
I have so much love for Fuji
I got the XE-1 and the XPro-1 and I have Sony cameras the A7 & A6700 The Sony is really powerful but every time i use Fuji i feel inspired to do photography
It’s like a magic i can’t explain at all
I hope to get my hands on a new Fuji like XT5 or maby a future XPro-4 in the upcoming future
The thing is Fuji is wonderful to use specially for Street Photography
i encourage any one who wants to feel inspired to get his/her hands on any Fuji camera because carrying a Fuji is a blessing to use for no matter what a photographer would like to photograph…
Talking on modern megapic I wander how many an old 35mm film printed is?
I think you’re a chronic switcher. You literally used that Hasselblad for 2 months … but I can relate 😂 I’ve gone from Fuji medium format to Nikon zf and couldn’t be happier - I can use vintage glass or new. It’s small and perfect.
Vintage glass is a blast, isn't it? I have a few and love to shoot them on my X-T3.
@@pdcorlisif you don’t mind loosing credibility….. lol
Glad you are continuing to share with us. Don't listen to the naysayers...
Welcome Home
Happy for you. Enjoy it
Thank you ☺️
See you on Nikon in 2 months
Nikon is the one brand that has never interested me....🫣
@@ChrisOrange Your loss.
@@ChrisOrange I would have thought the ZF would be up your street
I got whiplash with you changing camera brands. Nevertheless I’m still enjoying your videos.
I can relate to that. I sold all my full frame Nikon (Z and dslr's) and bought a Panasonic G90 with the 14-140 mm lens.
…whatever 🤷🏼♂️
Yes, thank you! Character is something that I also appreciate in lenses) Fujifilm cameras also have their own character, as do Micro 4/3 cameras.
New video,new camera.....Nikon next?Not many left!
Whaaaaaaaaat! I thought you dropped Fujifilm for Leica?
Totally agree Chris, had a few systems but came back to FF.
Use whatever works for you; congratulations on your new camera.
I'm getting dizzy old bean.
not again!
The GAS is real😄
😆
What about the Panasonic?
So if 16 megapixels all you need, why did you opt for the Hasselblad? Do you ever crop and print large?
I just loved the images and wanted to use the system. I used to have a couple of GFX cameras, so likes the medium format. But, I prefer APSC for all round camera use
I just did the same backwards!, sold all my fuji lenses and x-t5 for a 907x.
Pleased you are using what you enjoy,
The X100VI (i've had for almost a year) maybe the last camera i buy (until it breaks)... and i shoot professionally
I have 2 X-T3s that again wont be replaced till they break
If I'm ever rich GAS would probably take me to a GFX (or Hasselblad) but I know i'd hate the weight... If i can do a job with just the X100VI i will (I have the TC to give me the option of the 23mm F/2 and 33mm F/2 )
I only use the X-T3s for video work and when i need to shoot wider (using the 10-24) or longer using the 56mm, but they are mostly used for video now
Just sold my GFX for a portable A7Cii
I think I'm gonna sell all my Super old cannon cameras get rid of some old nikon cameras just to get the junk out and just strictly focus on Fuji x Mount crop sensor until I make the big buck 💸 Stepping up to GFX medium format for the details 🎉 best images for the money 💰
Sold the Hasselblad, so now you have a hassel free life!
I give it 2-3 months max before the next switch to the most amazing camera.
The same guys who say gear doesn’t matter are the ones constantly changing their gear. He did a video on this very subject just a little while ago.
Buy yourself X-E1 for artsy projects. You'll love the images it produces.
We all make mistakes. TBF, I have a MFT rig and a high res L-mount rig. Different tools for different jobs.
congrats enjoy my X-T5 accompanies my X-T2 😀
Lol, same.
Good to see you back Chris 👍
I completely understand!😂
You wont regret the 16mm f1.4 at ALL
I totally agree with you Chris, I’ve been through a few brands and models too but always levitate back to Fujifilm. 👍🏻
Hey do you need an editor?
switching again?! Fuji again?! lol :)
Yep - nice to be back with a complete Fuji set up
... I love your journey.
Enjoy! Fuji lenses are sweet 😊
this channel is a joke...
😂Do you and your family eat enjoy ❤love❤ Beef jerky? I own a Beef, jerky business. That's what I do for a living right now and I want to send you multiple bags over the Pound U.S.A. IF you teach me how to become a professional photographer 😂 STARTUP FROM DAY #1??? What would you be doing from day #1 until good enough to start charging for extremely large discounts for 6-9 months gaining real life situations events 2nd shooter for weddings etc.
Try out the new 15-55mm f2.8 II It’s a zoom, but the images are fantastic
Hi Chris,
I kind of guessed you would return to Fujifilm in full.
We’ve certainly tried them all between us John 😆 am happy to have an X-T5. Sits well with the xt1
If you sold to KEH it’s on there right now. They’ve only one so maybe?
😂 XT5 rules them all!
Because you can’t earn enough as a professional so you buy new gear to create content?
With an attitude like that, why don’t you just not watch the videos? If you have nothing good to say, shut up
Hope you enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks ☺️
I am trying to understand the psychology behind your, lets say, aversion to take the Hasselblad on shoots. Was it the price of the camera and you worrying about that something could happen to it? Or was it maybe the fact you easily got the images that you wanted out of the Fuji because you are so familiar with it? While at the same time you secretly feared to not get those images out of the much more expensive camera system? Just speculating.
I imagine it's incredibly expensive to collect all the lenses for all focal ranges. Especially longer zooms
good decision!
I also have the X t5. Unfortunately it is very complex / complicated camera and has some / many defects. but this is a great camera. ( I am a professional photographer)
oh no, you mad man, you did it again :P
Cat content, year!
Love the Cat - little ‘Dory’ 🐈⬛
First. And new here.
Welcome 👏
I have the X-H2... (which I'm very happy with). Along with Fuji's F1.4 r 23mm LM WR, it's a great combination for landsacapes. Would be interesting to see a comparrison with the XT1 Chris. Would also be great to hear your thoughts on combining the older Fuji lenses with 40mp - I know some reviewers were concerned that the older lenses might not cope with increased resolution.. Thank you, it's always helpful to hear your thoughts, (still enjoying using your R3 B-3 Classic Chrome recipe, the results are so often amazing!)
Good question. I have a Canon M6 and was disappointed that Canon only made one lens which could cope with its 32.5 megapixels.
Amazing camera, have been using for a couple of years and love it.
Condivido Chris 👍👋👋
I only have the 18/2, the 35/1.4 and the 56/1.2. I really want the 23/1.4 and the 14/2.8 to complete my line-up. Looking forward to you using them 👍
I have the 18,23,33 f1.4 lenses, plus the 56 and 90. I fancy getting the 80 macro and 8mm.
@@r423fplip Is the 23 the original Fuji 1.4 version, that's the lens I want the most. What body are you using them on, what's your genre.............?
A wise choice, fuji cameras are a joy to use and that 23mm LM lens is an absolute belter.
Haha welcome back to the Fuji gang, I would love a Hassleblad tho, but for shooting film, not digital
