You did a awesome job. I’m very impressed with your barrel cleaning. Very helpful info that I will use going forward with my Remingtons. Thanks for sharing with us. 🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻
Nice rifle excellent presentation and in depth cleaning of the bore. Alot of hunters just wipe them down after the season is over and the rust creaps and the carbon just stays caked in every nook and cranny. Just a cautionary note for anyone who isn't a professional gunsmith attempting to tear down a 760 or 7600. That tube has loctite from the factory. Using a random screwdriver not the same diameter can potentially damage the bluing on the underside of the barrel if it passes through both holes to far or only prying on one can oblong the hole making the tube hole deformed. I've seen it on a handful of these rifles unfortunately. It can be fixed the best thing is to get a custom made tool billet or stainless steel from a machine shop that fits the outer radius of the tube with the correct depth dowl If you plan to tear alot of them down for friends ,family or a customer. They make custom wrenches for the 742 and 7400 barrel nuts as well wich can be found online.
I just sold on eBay not too long ago with all the foot tracks! I have three 7600s. Every time I do a deep clean on the barrels, they don’t shoot very accurate for about a dozen rounds or more. I learned to do just a light cleaning on them a long time ago. My 35 Whelen has always been the problem child. The barrel came loose three times on it until I put blue Loctite on the threads. Same with the pump hold down screw on it. That big boy just likes to rattle apart from recoil apparently.
Make sure when you screw the pump back onto to twist it in the opposite direction so it stays free floated and doesn’t touch the barrel or your accuracy is going to suffer.
Thanks for the info! Some rifles need a bit of fowling. This particular barrel hadn't been properly cleaned in a few decades and was in desperate need for some TLC
That is a hard question to answer. I have a plethora of different tools that i use. It all depends on what is needed vs what i have vs what I can get when it's needed if I don't have it.

What tools do you use? I’ve been trying to get into gunsmithing but don’t know what to grab
