  • Adding crown molding to a set of cabinetry. In this particular video we're fabricating a 3-piece crown molding to finish off this project. We will often use a similar technique whether it's the look we want or we need the added height. For this particular project we have 11' ceilings so, we have built our cabinetry 10' tall and this built up crown will fill the 1' space between the cabinets and the ceiling.
    Our 3-piece crown will consist of a 1x2(3/4" x 1-1/2") attached to an 11" wide plywood "header" once these are installed we'll install our traditional crown molding.
    Many different ways to do this but we wanted to include this process in our build series documenting the various processes that go into completing a large builtin cabinetry project.

    Great video! I like the jig you’re using to guide your jigsaw when coping the crown. Where did you find that jig?

      It’s called an easy coper jig. I bought it online years ago.
