Please make video on your journey from first year when you held laptop to pro level progranmmer steps you followed ,habits that helped you please, which platform you used first codechef or codeforces and resources / lectures you watched to learn DSA and cp.
Another good thing about CP is that it keeps you engaged in improving yourself right from the first year. Students often think they will start preparing for placements right from their third year (atleast in my college) and spend the initial years of college chilling out with friends. Later on they realize that now it's too late because problem solving skills come with practice and time.
Thank you brother for this video. I have been in a confusion whether should I start Cp or not and I'm a non-tech guy who just likes programming....And with this video I got the clarity that I needed. I gonna go for Cp and ri8 now m subscribing to your channel for guidance... You got pretty good content on this topic. So please keep up this work. I would love to join you if you have any workshop or something.
Brother you are currently an expert not that it matters cause you really are CM for so long and you can easily achieve it any contest again , just reminding you that the luck is a little hash with you right know
honestly the main reason that pushing me away from CP is college ,my grades in high school was pretty bad so i was not able to get a CS degree ,ended up studying physics ,math and some few hours of programming just the basics and all that in french which is something pretty outdated so i need to study physics which is something i am not intereste in ,in order to study CS and that is the main reason that keep me away from CP
Thx for advice bhaiya , you know in a tier 3 college , it is everything at worse No coding culture, no peer group, lot of assignments and shitty chemistry, ec ,physics , electrical subjects in first year , attendance pressure , no one to guide etc .
Hey priyansh! I was thinking u wasted ur time on this video, bcos ppl never understand. But it was worth my time!! Great job, you touched a lot of small important things! Also, can u make a video on all the macros, #defineS and code-shortening tips which you and a lot of other experts use? Like typedef long long ll; and all those other things, u got it right?
As a hobby? Yes For Getting better job offers? Maybe not because you can achieve that by just doing DSA. CP would be a long route for anybody already working to get better job offers.
Well i started CP in my first year and solved some 400 odd problems and 50+ contests() but couldnt break out of newbie and thought to quit and switch to dev and bagged one internship for 6th sem. It has been around 4 months but now wanna jump back to cp since ill be finished with my 5th sem, ill give it a try again and will see if I can improve 😅
Dont neeed. 400 problems means you already wasted a lot of time. Its not a compulsory thing. Focus on dev. Thats the one that brought you intership right? And learn DSA from gfg and leetcode. It will be better. After doing significant amount of Leetcode you can come back to CP though but doesnt guarantee you will see positive results
Hey Priyansh Thank You So much For this video its really motivating but my doubt is I will be entering in my 4th semester from 24 Jan am I too late to start CP now? Like I used to do CP but I left due to demotivation, etc. If I start in my 4th semester am I late please reply it would be really thankful of you to help. Thanking you in Anticipation.
Honestly, it is never too late to start CP. It depends on what you want to do CP for. If now you want to do CP as a hobby or to prepare for placements after 6th semester, you are not late. If you want to do CP to prepare for internships after your 4th semester, I think a better option would be to go for DSA standard problems at this point and once you are sure that you will be able to do standard problems in the interviews, you can go for working on your problem solving skills by giving CF contests. Another thing that you can do to not loose touch of CP is to give Leetcode contests while you are preparing for DSA. Those contests have some flavour of CP along with standard DSA stuff.
Bhaiya I'm just starting cp so should I solve problemsets in codeforces or should I solve contest Also bhaiya rating is given to anyone based on solving problemsets or contest?
I would advise going for some random easy problem solving from CF problemset before you give your first contest. Do 5-8 problems to get the hang of what all is needed to submit a problem on CF. No, rating is only given once you give at least one contest. It only changes when you participate in contests

bro I am in 2nd year if I start cp it will take 2years to be good at it and companies want projects also so when should we learn development like can we learn it while doing cp also or we have to do it after being good in cp
No in the starting. Yes at later stages (when you are >= 1700 rated on CF. You will encounter advanced DSA). Also, you will never use Linked Lists, BSTs, etc in CP ever.
Naa thanks I have way more better things to do. Wasted two fucking year on this and dont want to waste anymore. How much maximum problem does we have to solve for a particular difficulty tag
