- In this video, I show the installation process of adding LED lights to my 1997 F250!
LED lights are from Amazon, the LED company who makes them is Auxito. Part number is #194.

Personally, I love the green. It reminds me of night time car rides as a child In my moms old car (like coming home from my grandmas house from Christmas Eve). But that’s just me 🤣🤣🤣
Needed to see more on the difficulties involved. So i know what to expect and how to overcome them. I felt the video was in a rush to get to the end to show how good the job turned out.

One of the best tools I've ever bought for working on car interiors is a set of plastic pry tools they're cheap on Amazon.
Years ago, I had a dash that was white light background. I put amber 194s in. Looked like an aircraft dash.
Pro tip that not alot of people share, but i will cause i like your rig!
To stop door ding while key is in or on and need door open just manually close the latch on the door!😱 and dont forget to pull the door handle to re open latch before you close the door!
Yow!! Looking good!! I’ve got my dash removal down to a science after 2 or 3 times!! Make sure your shifter is clear down in 1st.
Props to you my dude, looks a million times better. I’ll be attempting this on my 2003 Ford Focus, and swapping the needles to a blue color.
Your blue paint looks fabulous. I lke the blue fabric too. my 01 has blue cloth, everything else looks off to me now.
Thanks for the video! First thing i did was find the door buzzer, lit it on fire and sent the video to ford. I’m going to be replacing it with a 2019 buzzer.

What's nice is the brand lights you bought has a built in resistor, I converted my hole 2000 f350 to those and love them
Good stuff man! I debated doing this on my rig, but was concerned about getting the needles back in the right place. Glad to see it seemed to work out for yah! Also, I know the pain of the old plastic. Broke a piece clean off when opening up my dash this last weekend. Thank goodness for JB weld haha.

Clean dash for a nice clean 7.tree. Bet the white lights could get rough on the eyes on a long night drive though. I’d personally go with something with more red light I think. But yours will look sick even at noon lol.

Just got a 92 7.3 and I'm looking into changing the gauge overlay as well. But with this I'd rather go this route. My question is: what if it's painted white but with green underneath that. Will I need to remove both layers of paint to achieve this as well?

Hey Brandon, great video. love the opening sequence! I just swapped all my lights to LEDs, but the hazards and blinkers are staying solid, no flash at all. Do these trucks need load resistors along with the updated electronic flashers? I have a 97 OBS, it has 2 flashers, we updated both, but still no flashing....
There has to be a resistive load for the flasher to work. A flasher is a self resetting circuit breaker.

Nice work, not sure if you check in here often.... But, how bright are they when dimmed low? I could see it bugging me when driving to work at 4am before I have had my monster drink.

How did you determine the polarity of the LEDs?
How many bulbs did you need to do just the gauges themselves ? not including the warning lights

you know that cluster comes out alot easier if you take the truck outa park...... seriously. done had mine out soo many times got it down to a 10 min or less job now. takes longer to find the tools. lol nice truck tho. where did you get the steering wheel adapter? grant doesn't make one for the 1/2 ton 9th gens. was that a ebay find?

That turned out fuckin awesome man.Ive got a spare cluster I may try this on.I tried like 8 years ago scratching off the green n using sharpie but it was an epic fail.Seeing how you used chemical removal makes me think I could go at this a few hours a night with qtips.If the panic hoarding sheep's didn't buy them all up.
Is the brightness variable with the light switch?
I have a 1991 Ford F 150. The dash lights on the instrument have a green background. I am curious what it will look like with LED lights.

Good job. That PRNDL indicator slips out the bottom of the cluster, 2 squeeze tabs, one on each side. Keeps from having to mess with the little cable & bracket.
btw what was the part numbers for the bulbs?

Brandon, Always love your vlogs. I have a 94 OBS Ford that I am restoring some what. Just above the grill, and on the front side of the radiator is a heavy strip of rubber across the front structure of the truck , If stand in front of the truck the heavy rubber strip is just above the grill and across the front that attaches the radiator. You see it immediately upon lifting your hood. Do you have any idea what it's called? I an trying to replace mine, but don't know the name of the part of or where I can buy a new one. It's like a rubber cowling that's just above the grill. Would sure live to know what it's called. Thanks a ton.

Hey buddy to boss drops the steering column down and clears all that you can take it right out really easy so underneath drop the steering column
1. How many bulbs are there total if I wanted to LED the whole panel. Dummy lights etc
2. Does the dimmer work with LED?

I want to retain the factory green lighting in the dash. Do I need green LED’s for them?
I think my psom is bad so i just sent my 97 f350 7.3 cluster in for rebuild and new led back lights. Im not worrying about the green i just want brighter. Hopefully thats the problem as long as she shifts ok i could care less. 3yrs ago e40d blew up inside i started dreaming of a zf6 swap since i dont race or that kind of stuff i got a 13k trl i pull occasionally. This issue makes me think even more i wish i couldve but as my only vechicle and lack of funds for such a project. Might happen might not
What kinda turbo is on the white single cab?
Remember 20 years ago when changing the entire cluster to a white face was the thing to do
How did you adjust the gages ?
And can you dim those lights?
What's the led belb size?
I did these, not hard and looked good. Then a few day later the flicker, different bulbs at different times. Weird set up for contact. tried cleaning the copper but they are unreliable.

Is anyone having any issue with their temperature gauges after they did this? My coolant gauge is working well but my oil temperature always goes to normal even if it’s cold

When I did mine my gauges got all sorts of messed up my fuel and battery gauge doesnt read right
Did you figure out how to fix it
I changed mine yesterday and when I hooked my cluster back up now they ABS light is on and won't go off. The bulb wasn't blowed before I changed it because it would come on and go back off after the truck was running. Anyone ever have this problem?

It's best to put them back where they were when the truck was shut off. I kept the plastic off the gauge cluster and had the key to ignition so I could make sure they were lined up.
Do you half to scrap the green off im planning on doing red led lights but don't want to take the gauges apart to do it
To see the red light from the LED's you have to scrape the green film off unfortunately.
Have you had any issues of slack , play and slop in your steering ? I have a 97 7.3 2wd and we have replaced everything on the front end except coil springs shocks and steering column it has new bushings ball joints , red head gear box , tie rods etc and still has slack and follows the way a road leans and has had alignment redone 5 times and still bad

I've read red head steering boxes not that good anymore now, not what they were years ago. Go Blue Top box.
