    I just went through this process at Lazy Days back in October. It was a very thorough walkthrough and we have been very satisfied.

    As always, a great video. As a multiple RV owner and a certified home inspector (One of my full time inspectors is also a RV inspector), it is very very important you test everything at the PDI. Don't wind up being surprised that your camper smokes you out the first time you run the furnace or that a outlet doesn't work because you popped the GFCI outlet that controls it....... :) :) :)

    You guys are Awesome! I just stumbled upon your channel recently. I was directed to your channel by a MORryde representative at the local RV/Camper show here in Southeast Michigan. We were discussing the independent suspension and he said that you guys had a Great video showing the product and the process. He was right, you guys nailed it! The crazy thing is that my wife and I have never owned an RV. And, we fell in love with the 2020 Grand Design Solitude 390RK. So, when I watched your MORryde video and saw that you are Grand Design owners, I felt like this was going to the beginning of a long friendship... I have watched several of your videos so far and intend to get them all in. I have subscribed to your channel and am excited to see where, and what, you come up with next. In the meantime, keep up the Great Work, Great Videos, Great Topics... From the Great State of Michigan, (America's High Five) Keep on Truck'in!

    Great info. There's 1 very important topic to cover as well. If you're buying a towable RV, keep in mind the type of tow vehicle you will need. Lots of preparation goes into that process as well if you don't already own one.

    Some pretty great helping points. Do most people get better service from a small dealership, or a mega dealership....

    • @GetawayCouple
      @GetawayCouple  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! And that's such a hard question to answer. I think it really just comes down to what do the reviews say. I don't think the size of the dealership is what matters, it's if they take pride in their business and hold up to their word.

  • @semosurvivalist
    @semosurvivalist ปีที่แล้ว

    I have been searching for about two years. I retired about that time and we knew that when my wife retires this year we are hitting the road. From what we've found if you finance your rig the motor coaches are much cheaper payments that a truck, with towing modifications, and a fifth wheel. I agree the fifth wheels are much nicer! A truck and fifth wheel would run us about $2,000 a month where a motor coach will run me just over $1,000 per month. We are weighing reviews and everything on a few set ups and will be making a decision soon. We want something that feels like home and since we haven't sold our house yet we have plenty of time to be picky lol.

    Great job!! We watched a lot of youtube videos before we decided to purchase our Tiffin Class A motorhome. We even flew from Albuquerque to Dallas to compare Tiffin to Newmar dealers and coaches. We then decided the local Albuquerque dealer was the best place to purchase our RV for us. You are total correct about the how many things you need before you take your first trip. Thank goodness for Amazon. Safe travels ~Janice~ 😊💖

    I’ve been shopping for alittle over a year now and finally found what I wanted now came the real job talking to the sales people every one I talk too try’s to talk me into something different because it seems like no one has the make and model I wanted and the longer I shop my taste changes so I narrowed it down to 2 so I’ve been calling around and found where I want to buy from but now I’m having second thoughts on buying a travel trailer, it’s a different world out there when your trying to buy one when your a first time buyer, the reason we were buying is this covid we thought we could get away from this house that we have been locked down in, I’m going to give this maybe another go at it but if it doesn’t go good I’m just going to get a pool put in my back yard and end it, thanks for the video it clears up alot

    Thanks for the info, I am considering purchasing my first RV trailer. I am wondering if there are any extra fees above the price tag. Say the sale price for a trailer is $30000, is that's the only amount I need to pay to the dealership in order to take the trailer home or there are extra fees above that? (Ignore optional items/services and I am living in a tax free state)

    The pick-up and introduction to the new EV is very important. when I picked-up my first RV. The sales rep walked me thru everything on the trailer. I was working in NY state and staying in a RV park. About a week in to there was a cool front come thru the area. About 1 am I had to start the heat up. No one ever said any thing about the smoke detector going off about an hour after it was started. At 2 am that's the last thing you want to happen.

      @@24dking What type of financing terms - how many months and etc??? Buy a RV, do you get similar house credits or what??? I'm looking into wanting to buy a used class-A and tow my car. I figured, buying a RV and paying monthly for a parking pad and connections, will be cheaper than trying to buy a house or rent an apartment in this over inflated market. What I do know about and trying to learn is the loan process and terms.

    How much a month for an rv from a dealership? Is insurance mandatory like new trucks? Etc.

    • @GetawayCouple
      @GetawayCouple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The monthly cost is going to vary just like a truck, depends on what you get and who you finance through. Insurance will be required if it is financed. And even if it's not financed, most states require insurance like with any vehicle.
      Here is one of many articles we have done on buying an RV: www.getawaycouple.com/rv-cost/
      Here is one on financing: www.getawaycouple.com/how-long-can-you-finance-an-rv/

    Do your research on brands and RV quality! Specially research the larger company that owns the brand. There is so much EXPENSIVE JUNK out there! It’s often better to buy a product of a smaller company that stands behind quality as opposed to a large manufacturer located in Indiana.

    Watch out for dealers who say they are going to fix things before you pick it up, but won’t put it in writing. Just went through this with Sewell motorcoach in KY. They had a lovely rig we wanted, but owner Doug refused to put any of his promises in writing. Insisted that this was the only way he did business. Treated us like we were jerks because we didn’t “trust” him. Watch out! This is Frightening.
