the interesting thing about this is, I theorize, in show, though without certain confirmation, that this whole situation always tied back into the ZFT thing, with David Robert Jones and such, and we may not have gotten all the info then. My theory: John Scott, Bowman and Hicks were secret agents, essentially acting as enforcers (though how much they knew of this in that timeline uncertain, but I suspect John Scott thought it was a legitimate operation), for Harris (the guy who was against Olivia in season 1), under the orders of David Robert Jones (Harris was revealed to be working for ZFT when he kidnapped that woman who had fire powers). Meanwhile, Conrad (the guy who they thought was making the serum), may have been contracted by David Robert Jones to make that serum, but Conrad skimped on the deal, to do things on his own, and David Robert Jones gave the order for Harris to use John Scott, Bowman and Hicks to kill Conrad and get the serum. I suspect a similar situation was for the guy from the Pilot, that John Scott killed. Now, as far as the snake thing and that creature in the tank goes, I think, in show, that David Robert Jones may have been behind all of those. But after he died, something like the creature in the tank began to be use for other purposes, or maybe was always being used for that, and it was apart of the project.
Going off of that I think David Robert Jones was always working for William Bell. That John scott was going after Conrad but his dying words to Olivia in the pilot "ask yourself .. why... Broyles sent you." I think John Scott heard something up the chain about David Robert Jones finding and activating the cortexifan children even with him being in a german prison!

Hey GreyWolf. This may be to late but just FYI. I would suggest skipping episode 19 until after season 4 is complete. Episode 19 is a out of season episode giving you a glimpse at season 5. So watching that might spoil certain things.
I like how they came back to this storyline.. its like a choose your own adventure. I'm feeling that Lincoln is getting close calls and he may be taken out of the show soon. Thanks for the content!
starting this episode sure was confusing, i agree! when it aired, we were all like uh.... we thought it was a new episode, what the fuck is going on? there aren't reruns, and from season one??? 😂 i feel so bad for lincoln :( he and olivia were obviously developing feelings for each other, and we already know alt!lincoln loved his olivia (all the convos with scarlie, and his confession to her in the previous timeline when she was giving birth to henry). and now that she's forgetting... losing that connection must be so hard.
