What do you suggest, Trevor? Australia has always had bush fires, always will. There will always be droughts, sometimes severe. These animals live in the bush. What do you suggest? Enclose them all in zoo's or sanctuaries? What if those are caught up in fires? It's a sad reality of nature.

In the 1990's we had a large bush fire in the Port Macquarie area... Helped to rescue 89 Koala's over a couple of weeks.Seen some that did not make it from the fire...This recent fire is 10 times worse than the one that i was involved with in the 1990's...

I like this interviewer too :) I mean "look" there's a lot of "look here" type of questions but you can see he is passionate, he asks difficult questions and even a few hardballs to someone in a position like this while staying really respectful. And all of that is kinda rare.

So far 1.6 million dollars has been raised from around the world to assist the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. That really indicates the respect that people have for those that are caring for these animals.
