Yet dehydration & hunger = severe ill health & Likely Severe Headache.
We must consider headaches more often with all animals. (Animals’ headaches reminds me too of the terrible constricting “shirt” claimed to calm dogs, which forces shallow breathing. Likely it is inflicting headaches that cause dogs to be still. It hasn’t been ruled out.)
I’m also thankful for the kindness in this video for the defenseless. Nothing is more important

You know, back in the day adults would say to kids that animals don't feel pain / emotion so they wouldn't be upset when the animals went to be slaughtered to feed the family, now we're living in such a surreal time that so-called "scientists" have convinced the masses that animals don't suffer. What a world we live in.. If you want to talk REAL science though, most animals, just like us, produce opioids in their body to combat serious and especially long-lasting pain, even such simple creatures such as earthworms produce these opioids, so yes even an earthworm feels pain & has enough of a mental capability to suffer! Animals also self-medicate by consuming many different plants, from opioid-containing ones to psychadelic mushrooms.

@@awlmut Funny how there can be a thousand different channels dedicated to humanitarian efforts towards humans... and yet, there will always be those select few, barging into the channels specifically dedicated to vulnerable animals... leaving vacuous, pseudo-noble comments to deflect from the content at hand. Clicking on a Dodo video, knowing it's going to show animal-related content and proceeding to complain about the lack of empathy towards humans. Someone's got way too much time on their hands, me thinks. Precious time that could be spent helping the aforementioned humans, perhaps 😉
By the way, I live in a neighborhood sprawling with famished cats and dogs (and coyotes). I've yet to see a single person hand them a few bucks or buy them a meal. I have, however, seen human equivalents receive such acts of kindness though. Funny, isn't it.

Animal transport crates/boxes may seem cruel, but at the end of the day driving a car is dangerous enough without a wild animal freaking out in an enclosed space and potentially causing a car crash that would likely cause its own death, the death/injury of the car diver/occupants and anyone the car happened hit too in the crash.
If you are going to do something as risky as bringing a completely wild animal into a car you have to be considerate of the other people on the road as well as other occupants of the car.
Even a domesticated animal that has not been mistreated or abandoned can still go a bit nuts inside a car and cause a crash.
What's the point in being free range organic nice when the animal ends up dead anyway because you failed to have the sense to be safe?
What do you tell the families of the people your car killed or mutilated in the crash?
"Oh yeah, I was thinking of playing it safe and keeping him restrained while we were driving on a public road - but then I saw his sweet little face and I just thought f**k it, you only live once!"
      😑
Unless you are extremely well versed with an animal and/or you have a barrier to protect the driver you should not do this - it's dangerous for you, it's dangerous for your passengers, and it's dangerous for the animal too.

@@glamdolly30 You believe it has a family but koalas don't even know the concept of family! The males are so dumb that they will even kill their own offspring, male or female, if they come into their territory once adults. Also I don't know what video you were watching but this koala didn't seek these people out at all! It wandered onto the road, they gave it water then grabbed it, that guy is lucky to not get scratched by its claws the way he picked it up 🤦‍♀️ A rescuerer generally covers it's head with a towel or blanket then pick it up. If the koala wasn't burnt or injured they should have just left it alone or until other wildlife rescuers went out to monitor the situation in the area. I have been told this myself by WIREs and RSPCA when I've seen injured animals. You note down what area they are in then call them up and they will have the professionals come out to catch them and give medical attention.
These two are certainly not heroes but ignorant fools, just like you are believing they did something right by taking a protected species from it's territory. Common sense is no longer common unfortunately!

The trees maybe traumatic because they burned and he was alone at the tree
In the car he felt safe and removed from the trauma plus he wasn't alone. He had the two humans as companions.

He is so lucky that you two came along! You are both so compassionate, and you didn't just abandon him! Thank you so much for what you did for the little Koala! You will someday be rewarded in kind! Good journey to you both! SINCERELY, MARTHA

Actually, the camp site owner was correct.
Koalas often get kicked out of trees (they can be quite vicious). They have to go find (and claim) another.
They'll sit there in the doldrums for a while, but eventually, they'll wander off to find a tree of their own.
I'm not saying that the couple did the wrong thing in this instance; taking him to a hospital was the right thing to do, given the fires.
I've had to relocate a few Koalas in my time, and typically, moving them to the nearest bushland area is *exactly* what you're supposed to do.
