@@allthingsTechrelated Yes that is a possibility, but the reality is that it may NOT have turned out like that, and because many riders who are competing for a high overall GC position have a strategy for an ENTIRE stage, they will sometimes deliberately let a very aggressive mountain attack go and then attempt to slowly reel them back by the end rather than ruin any chances they have by trying to hold their wheel. Everyone goes into it with an understanding of what the stage entails, including the descent. It has to be removed for safety, but changing the stage mid-way but still recording the standings- completely unfair. The stage should have been completely neutralized and no time gaps awarded.
There is no perfect solution here. Cancelling the whole stage isn't fair either.
Best solution is riding the stage, if lots of pro riders have no bike handling skills then that's their own fault.
we did not know what happen to stage 19 in this video the race is stop. how come egan bernal will be in the overall in classification
I'm like... O M G ! 😃
Analysis please.
It's up!
TOMORROW STAGE IS ALSO SHORTENED ON 59kM RACE. FOR STAGE 20. VIVA COLOMBIA
Brilliant
I wanted Bernal to win this year's tour but not like this.
never forget: a mountain is a mountain.
Oh no. Pinot was hearbreaking :(
hearTbreaking even
I think the second summer of French sport in a row might have to be abandoned.
They should have finished the stage cyclocross style lol
Ang galing ni bernal
No need to watch anymore, a Ineos parade to Paris.
Should have just cancelled the whole stage result so it would still be a race..
I want to be the Beer & Trunks Guy at 1:40.
that cancellation is for the benefit of the yellow jersey rider of that stage, its nothing compared to that blizzard stage in giro or vuelta that nairo quintana have won
Nothing compared? How would they pass by a river of mud or be able to brake/turn on a snowy road?
His only hope was making the time back on the descent and not losing as much up the next one, as it stands now he is done. It's possible it saved him more time and maybe he podiums now, but its also possible it cost him the tour. The one thing for sure tho is that it wasn't for his benefit.
Guess you've never been on a bicycle in graupel snow or hail. You stop, or slide your skin off on the road.
The water and ice on the road was bad yes, but the landslide was worse, should have shown that!
It\s over. Lets jump up to Vuelta
That's freakin' sad if the tour belongs to non-france rider again this year. Romain out, Pinot out, and now Julian? Indeed cycling is brutal.
Sad?
Just wow
Egan for good now - if the HC is not canceled for tomorrow, E never gan come back.
I was hoping for some French tops, and when we saw Thibaut fall, well, 'twas thought that he who would not countenance the fleers and scorn of those who would leave yon french crushing a cup of whine in arrears, would strike.
Alas! One o f his nine lives was spent below, and 'e, too, was gone, before Egan could be challenged to turn and draw.
In truth, I had no favorites, desiring that all would be favored.
A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe -
many have thought to come, but Egan, 'e go.
Who is Emanuel Bookman? He is pronounced Buchmann.
So Ineos has 2 guys in top 4... I am afraid the race is already over.
If there are people in this world who are not following the tour this year, they are just poor and depraved souls. I feel for them.
I felt sad for Pinot and Alaphilippe
I was really hoping that tanned shirtless flesh bear was getting into position to snuggle Thibaut back to full health. Would have worked...big time. It's well documented.
budhalen Weirdo
If you’re gonna run a race over the alps then accept there’s going to be the occasional landslide....
The Tour is no more exciting
Any event HOSTING like HBO, NBA, IBO, NFL, FIFA, UFC wants action, blood and drama, this director goes; I don't care if they get upset or less TV rating my duty is for the safety of the riders. O-O I haven't seen that in a long time. My hat off to him...I'm sure they took it to the teeth.
Stage should not count period
Your GC is wrong!
Hi. We took it from the official Tour de France website when they first put the top 5 up, they just have changed it afterwards. Dan
terrible decision, cancel the stage is the only fair ruling.
Yeah force alaphilippe to go again trough the suffering of watching the yellow jersey been striped by the sheer superiority of bernal/G climbing. That's a good one folks.
Rock Strong It would be unfair to Bernal, he had a 2 minute lead on JA, and it would be unfair if he lost all that time
Julian was gonna get that if that was not canceled
wow......2 frenchman crushed....1 injury..the other out of yellow.
I am sad
Ridiculous decision to give times at the top of a climb. Annap could have made up huge time on the descent. Stupid decision that could cause him the race
What's your suggestion then?
@@GeneralArmorus if they cancel the stage; the whole stage should be nulled; go into the next day as current standings... NOT how they did this. this is a complete fuckup
@@danjo1967 wrong
Just as Bernal would have utterly destroyed the remaining legs that JA had left.
Rafał Majka..but hi is off TDF 2019 or Kwiatkowski world champ Ineos support G..for my opinion Alaphilipe is grate cyclist!!! Alez Julian!! Sorry Ineos but G and his ride is boring..attack 26sec..E.Bernal young and strong! Well done
Ineos , Us postal.. same shit
Alafinish)
The Tour is still boooring. The intercom is destroying the sport.
I like it! Pa hug naman kayo
Please, do not bring Chris Froome back! I am begging you. Sorry Froomey, it is faaaar better without you :(
