Very good presentation with detailed descriptions. The time frames are also very realistic. As a fellow BHPian it is good to see the Team BHP sticker on your car. Thanks for sharing. All the best.👍👍
VERY NICELY WRIITEN AND PICTURISED. However, a w words of caution please be very mindful about the FOG. It remains till 12 noon an intensifies from 06: 30 PM durig the month of January. Advise: 1) If driving directly from CCU to Varanasi in one single day, please start by 05: 30 AM. latest. 2) Double drivers would be much safer. if not possible then frequent breaks after 2 - 3 hours (max) with regular washing of face with cold water and with mild soap solution is a must. Tea / Coffee can be a good supplement. 3) A SUV IS more preferable. 4) Do not try to on save on fuel on roads where you have good stretches (Got One after PANAGARH and another after Dhanbad. (I clocked 135 KMPH in my Scorpio VLX for about 10 minutes in PANGARH and about 20 minutes at Dhanbad) 5) Try to cover the good stretches quickly without taking breaks so as to cover larger distances quickly since the major part of this route is already undergoing major repairs and Extension work. 6) installation of amber fog lights is a must in he lower bumper of the vehicle is a must since the FOG in UP sets in immediately after Sundown and intensifies as the evening / night progresses. Try to reach your hotel by 9 PM, since the FOG and the COLD are the TWO big impediments to your journey. Note that in a foggy condition, the lower the lights are the better it is. High beams would only throw your light beams back at you an would make your visibility more difficult.. 7) Always follow the white marker on the road. 8) Try to Top Up your fuel tank in West Bengal (for Diesel) and in Dhanbad ( for petrol) Avoid refueling in Bihar since both kinds of fuels are very costly. next Top up should bein Varanasi since both the fuels are probably the lowest among all the states in India. diesel @ Rs. 90/- litre Petrol @ Rs. 96 / litre. 9) Always use synthetic engine oil as this would protect your engine even in cold conditions and also in very hot conditions. For diesel engines requiringiringa 15W -40 Grade, Castrol Magntec Diesel (Semi synthetic) is readily available and another engine oil SK ZIC X7000 (Fully Synthetic) are good options.
I am also planing to do a solo trip on my bullet from kolkata to varanasi can u please tell me how is the road and is it safe to do solo bike ride on that route?
It is safe if you are not doing at night. For road conditions, I have tried to capture all different conditions. Also mentioned how much time was taken to reach different places step by step. Wish you a very happy and safe journey 👍
