The lyrics she wrote are really good. I know someone has translated their songs and their newer stuff has captions on it, but if only people would learn a little Japanese, maybe a day or two of anime episodes a year (just for fun and kill time) won't make you fluent in understanding this language but you can understand a few words or one/two sentences from its original language where there is a difference in meaning from the translation. That's why her lyrics are considered poetic by Japanese.
And who said this is a simple song? Can you hear those heavenly and endearing bass lines by MISA? Can you hear Akane's humbling but precisingly intricate drum fills? Can you hear Kanami's emotional guitar licks throughout the song? Can you hear Miku's on-point and beloved harmonizing back-up vocals? Can you hear the sentimental and nostaglic melody of Saiki's eargasmic vocals? Thank you BAND-MAID. Just that, appreciating for your effforts in these unfortunate predicaments.

大丈夫です。リアルのお給仕(ライブ)には、70代、いやそれ以上と思えるような方も多数お見えになっていますから・・・
みんなコロナ禍が下火になってリアルお給仕にお見えになられたら、盟主様(ファン)の年齢層を見て驚くと思います。かく言う私も驚いたクチですから・・・10代以下から70代以上までの幅広い年齢層のファンを感動させる音楽、それこそ本物である証だと思います。
海外住みの６６歳です。私も偶然youtubeで見つけて何となくクリックして聴いてみたら一発で好きになってしまいました。ストレートなロックしかも何か懐かしさをも感じさせる、本当にパーフェクトです。もちろん今でも好きなミュージシャンを聞きますがBandmaidは何かまた新しくロックを聴こうと感じさせる魅力を持っています。本当に人生の最終章で聞けたことに感謝です。もしコロナがおさまって彼女らがここに来たらぜひライブにいってみたいです。
@@Maple8man 最初は私もTH-camで知り、これは凄いと思って試しにライブに行き、そこで「ど嵌り」の「中毒患者」になったクチです。
今まで何度かライブに通った感想は、彼女達のスタジオ録音は「見本」だと言う事です。
ライブでは、いつもの事ですが、バージョンアップ、チューンアップされたスペシャル・カスタム・バージョンの曲がいくつも披露されます。
そしてそれがとても素晴らしいのです。
ほとんど全部の曲を自ら製作し、メンバー全員でカスタマイズしているからできる技なのですが、ライブを見て飽きる事がありません。
しかも、ライブの激しさがハンパではありません。異常な音が出ています。
ファンのほとんどはライブに狂っていると言っても信じてもらえないかもしれませんが・・・
世界十数国でワンマンライブを行っており、世界中にファンがいます。
ちょうど、5月10日に有料のオンラインライブ(ZAIKO)が開催され、海外でも鑑賞できるので、興味があれば彼女達のHPを見てみて下さい。決して損をしたとは思えない素晴らしいライブを画面越しに見ることができると思います。

ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、この曲はコロナ禍でいろいろ困難な状況の中、私達ファンを励まし勇気づけようと創られた曲です。本当は武道館中止になったり彼女達も辛く悔しい思いをしたはずなのにです。そんな彼女達の10周年、そして夢だった横浜アリーナ、これはもう全力で応援するしかないです。

SAIKIはアイス・クィーンなどと呼ばれたりもするが、麗しい聖母のような微笑みを浮かべている時もある。近年は特にそんな表情が増えたようだ。
歌うことの歓び、信頼できる仲間と共にあることの幸せが今彼女の顔を優しく輝かせているのだろう。

小学生の頃にBeach Boysに憧れ、14才でAC/DCのライブに行き、16才でPUNKにはまり、18才でBeastie Boysのデビューで雷に打たれ、20才でグランジロックを聞きまくり、23才でSouthern Rockに出会ってAllman Brothers Bandにどっぷりはまってからは、新しいrock bandを開拓することのほとんどなくなった51才です。その後はJazzだったりEDMも聴きましたが、なんとなくrockは卒業した感がありました。そんな私が車のラジオでDominationを聴いて後頭部をぶん殴られたような衝撃を受けました。なんだこのかっこいい曲は？ 車を停めスマホで検索してBand-Maidを知りました。それ以来どっぷりはまってます。海外の方がよくrockを守ってくれてありがとうなんてコメントをしますが、本当にその通りだと思います。20年近くrockから離れていた自分をまたrockの世界に戻してくれました。そしてこのFanを思いやる曲を聴いて涙が出る思いです。
DH さん。私は多分少し下の年代だと思います。私も大体似たような感じで音楽を聴いてきました。レイナードスキナード、エリッククラプトンとにかくいろんなカテゴリーを聞いてきましたがほとんどが洋曲、どっちかと言うとハードロック時々メタル、ジャズ。二十歳の頃にイーグルスのホテルカルフォルニアに出会い真剣にアメリカに行きたいと思いそれが昂じて新婚旅行も舞台になったビバリーヒルズに行ってしまいました。ところがなぜか移住したのは寒いカナダ（笑）ここ１５年くらいは殆ど音楽も聴かず時々youtubeで昔のロックなどを聞いていましたが偶然ここで「Thrill」を見つけ「メイドな格好でロックかー、また日本のコスプレかわい子ちゃんロックだろう」と思って聴いてみたら本当にびっくりしました。「えっマジかよ」とどんどん他の曲も聴いたらもう本当にショックでした。６６歳でこのグループに出会えて本当にラッキーでした。我々の世代は意味もわからず洋曲を聴いていたのに今は逆に海外の方々が意味もわからないのにBandmaidを聴いているなんて本当に不思議な感覚ですよね。本当に音楽に国境はないと思いました。特にこの曲は日本を離れた自分にはとっても特別な意味を持つ曲です。

@@SuperReelax さん。年上扱いしてすみませんでした、ビーチボーイを聴いておられたと言うのでてっきり年上かと思ってしまいました。自分は沖縄で生まれ育ったので当時米軍のラジオ局が何局かあってそれでウルフマンジャックやケーシケイスンのtop100などを聴いていました。また当時は沖縄はロックバンド紫やコンディショングリーンなども活躍していて私たちの年代にはロック好きが多かったです。よくビーチでのコンサートには米軍のアメリカ人も多くまるでアメリカにいる様でした。Bandmaidには当時の様に何か興奮させるものがあります。先はどれくらいあるかはわかりませんがずーっと聴き続けたいと思ってます。願わくばここカナダにツアーできてくれたら最高です、LIVEで聴いてみたいです。

同意。ジャンルを飛び越えての世界的名曲と言っても良いとワタシ個人は思っています。曲構成はシンプルながら構成要素の一つ一つが余分なモノを削ぎ落とされた形でそれぞれ組み合わさった感じといった感じでしょうか､､それまではロックバラードが苦手だったのですが。
そうです、ヒトリじゃないんです。BAND-MAIDを愛する世界中のみんなが、ここにいます。
恥ずかしながら、落涙。ほとんど全ての楽曲にもいえることだけど、驚異の楽器隊に負けてないフロントvocalpart。珠玉のメロディー、刺さる歌詞。HR/HM界隈で、ここまで「歌」を大事にしているbandはいないと思う。南九州の片隅より、一昨年のサツマニアン初日、昨年のキャパルボ行かなかったことを死ぬ程後悔してます。
BAND-MAIDの曲は、泣きたくなるような美しい曲が多いです。私はこれまでにヨーロッパで3回、日本で2回見てきましたが、後に武道館が開催されることを願って、喜んであなたの美しい国に戻ってきます。
作詞小鳩ミク作曲KANAMI（一応名義はBAND-MAIDになっていますが）は本当にゴールデンコンビですね！！これからの５人の進化にますます期待しています！！

私はこの曲に「母性」の強さを感じる。ジャケットにある向こうの明るい世界、「ただいま」「お帰り」を言い合う「日常」の世界へ、私たちを連れ戻してくれる存在だ。この曲は、ベース、ギターの癒し、ドラムと、saiki、小鳩の力強い歌声と詞がないまぜになって、私たちを励ましてくれる。逆セクハラと言われるかもしれないが、多分男性ではこの楽曲を作ることはできないと思う。
人との距離が物理的にも精神的にも離れてしまった今だから、その出来てしまった隙間を埋めてくれるのは体温を感じるものだと思う。音楽もその一つで、band-maidにはその“体温”がある。
改めてありがとう、いつも聞いているよ。

I just recently discovered Band-Maid and was instantly a fan. However, this song has taken me to another level. In January of 2022, I lost both of my parents to Covid. It has been a long and painful year, to say the least. I have listened to this song several times now and am moved to tears every time I hear it. It brings back wonderful memories of my parents and the love they had for us. This song reaches deep into my soul and touches me! I want to express my sincere gratitude to all five of these tremendously talented ladies. I hope I get a chance to at least see them play some day in person. Thank you.

It is a mutual love affair. I got see them in LA in October '19 and you could feel the love and appreciation (both ways) at the pre show meet and greet. They really are special in so many ways.

そのことを「めっちゃ泣けますっ感動!!!」と誰より喜んだのが小鳩のスキルアップをサポートしてきたリードギター歌波だった
小鳩がこのメンバー達との出会いは奇跡だと思うと多くのメディアで語っているが、確かに集まったメンバー全員が高い音楽スキルだけではなく容姿も兼ね備えていたという点は奇跡と言えるかもしれない
しかし、すべては策略家の小鳩が、カワいい天然な不思議ちゃんなのにヘヴィなロックギタリストで作曲の才能もある歌波を捕まえたことから、すべてが始まったのだと思う
歌波にメンバー集めを頼むと、当時ギターを持ったこともない小鳩には確かに想像もしていなかったことかもしれないが、ライヴハウスでプロを目指して活動していた歌波には同じ想いを持つプレイヤー達との繋がりがあり、その中から単に仲が良かったからだけでなく、自分がリードギターを弾くバンドのドラムにはカワいい見た目とは裏腹の力強い音と高度なスキルを持つ茜しかいないと思って誘う

３人で初めて音を合わせた瞬間に歌波も MISA のことを「こいつ、ヤリおる！」と思ったらしい
こうして小鳩はバンドを結成することが出来たが程なくして、この強力な楽器隊の音には自分の声だけでは弱いということを悟る
すると、あっさりとリードヴォーカルに同じ事務所にいたロックに栄える個性的で突き抜ける声と美しい容姿を持つ彩姫をスカウトすることを画策する
これは小鳩が歌手として自分が売れるためだけにバンドを創ろうとしていたのではないことがわかる
彩姫自身も初ライブ前日まで衣装がメイド服でもう１人のメンバーに鳩がいることを知らされなかったので「騙されたが逃げられなかった」と加入の経緯を語っているが、それでも断らなかったのは「この５人でなら何でも出来ると思った」と後に語っている程、彩姫もこのバンドに大いなる可能性を感じたのだろう

from japan I thought about why band-made music is popular with listeners all over the world.
(1) Maid clothes look strange at first glance, but they don't feel dirty or frightening like other hard rock and metal bands, so on the contrary, they feel conservative.
(2) Everyone admits that the playing ability is wonderful, but the timing and ensemble are particularly excellent, so it feels good to listen to. Especially the rhythm section of Akane and Misa is transcendent. It gets better when Kanami gets involved there.
(3) The variety of Kanami's riffs and the solos are not just about playing fast, but also about the melody, so it makes you feel more comfortable listening to them.
(4) The individuality of the members is diverse, but when playing, they are mixed well and a sense of unity is felt.
(5) Saiki's slightly crunchy singing voice, which has a different image from her beauty, fits well with her song.
(6) There are almost no similar songs, and various rhythms and riffs appear one after another in one song, so never get tired of listening to it.
On top of that, I feel that the most attractive thing is that the sincere attitude and feelings towards music and fans are conveyed straightforwardly.

I could see the real emotion in her face from the start of this song; she truly seems to love performing live and misses the feedback from the crowd. At times watching this I just wanted to give them a hug and say "we will be O.K. & part of why we will is because of your music" This song made me think about the other people in my life I miss during this pandemic and reach out to virtually hug them; it is a beautiful gift from Band Maid.

"About Us" is really so much more better live just like pretty much every song by BAND-MAID. This song shows how much versatile the band really is. If you haven't explore BAND-MAID's whole discography you're missing out on a lot. The lyrics feels really authentic as well.
So true! The whole discography, all of the songs, from "Be OK" to "Black Hole" it's like eating a delicious cake and ask for seconds... can't get enough of them... then you ear them live and well... I just feel like looking straight at Miku's eyes, raise my thumb and say "What a great idea, putting this people together!"
Not to mention, their discography only spans about eight years, yet it's all excellent (genuinely no bad songs), and they have more content then the majority of bands have in their entire careers. Including only unique tracks, BAND-MAID has released over 90 songs! If we include tracks like the 89 seconds version of "Different," than I think that number is nearly 100.
And again, this is all in the span of about 8 years!

@@andrewhoffman1087 Actually, I got 107 songs so far... if we take the 6 different versions of Band-Maiko and just count "Gion-Cho" as an original, that makes it to 101 - without the 89 seconds version of Different. But like you say, there are no "fillers"... 100 awesome treasures!

Not too dissimilar. Discovered them in Dec 2019, by total accident. Got Covid March 2020, and the lockdown. Had listend but casually before. After, while dealing with Long Covid, they became a refuge. Can't believe how serious some of their lyrics are when every song gives me such uplifting and positive vibes.
