Fantastic episodes Jasper. Great job with the editing. How did you enjoy your SuperSix Evo - I have the same bike and it must have been immense for these roads
You are so fantastic Jasper ,if you not making this video for us ,I know you will have better results, thank you so much for everything you did to your fans around the world, keep it up for your premium video and ride safe to the end of this event ! 🤙🤙🤙
hi jasper, are you using the swivel mount directly onto the stem of your bike? or do you use the suction cup as well? love the new POV on the cannodale
Great content Jasper. The extra weight and distraction of making these videos must be tough and you still hit top 25! It’s my dream to make content like this and you’re inspiring me every time I see how hard you work to make videos.
I had the privilege to have been stationed in northern Italy for 3 years with the US Army. Cortina d'Ampezzo will remain for the rest of my life the most beautiful place I've ever ridden my bike. Passo Giau beats everything I've ever climbed in terms of epic views. It's not the hardest climb, but it is truly stunning in every direction. Passo Stelvio is harder, but the views are blocked by closer mountains. Passo Gavia is in the trees a lot. Passo Mortirolo is just too hard even to lift your eyes to see anything. Alpe d'Huez was really cool just because of its history, but the valley is narrow and the views can be obstructed by the sheer mountain walls, not unlike Stelvio. Monte Grappa was the local climb to my house and is a brute. Cool views, but not as epic as what's in the Dolomites proper. I cannot overstate my feelings when I say that riding up Passo Giau was truly a blessing. It was a clear day and the views were unobstructed. Absolute heaven on Earth. A cyclist's dream. Pack up your bike, update your passport, take a plane to Venice, rent a car, and drive just a couple of hours north and you're in Cortina. Book it today.
Loving the series. I’ve signed up for Haute Route Pyrenees next year. These videos are super useful so I can see what to expect. Especially pleased that you can get seconds of food.
Haha even getting Dutch adverts on yt! Man those views! Pretty hard to beat that anywhere in the World?! Crazy! Laughed at you cramping up on that last climb to your hotel as I could only imagine how my legs would be feeling after that much climbing at that altitude! I'd probably be ringing an uber.
Geweldig. Van de 'duuudee' naar de zuid Afrikaan die getrouwd is met een Italiaanse en daar woont, de insane daling skills tot een top 25 klassering! Top aflevering met een mooie inkijk in de organisatie
Mate….Epic video with stunning landscapes!! So well produced! Not to say that you are a super strong cyclist!!! Well done!! Looking forward to next videos!!
Amazing video!!! I had a lot of fun watching it and it is super motivating! I can understand what you mean with you need to see this scenery because on photos and videos it's not like in real life. I am from this region and I agree this view is unparalleled. Enjoy the further rides!
Great video Jasper. Looking forward to the rest of the series. BTW, Have you been successful in landing some type of sponshorship deal with Cannondale? Talking with TimJ should open some doors in that respect.
I was lucky enough to cycle in Dolomites last week and its just wooow 😍 beautiful. Hopefuly next year i get on the starting list of Maratona dles Dolomites 😊 Great content by the way 💪
The decent down the first climb where you filmed from your head unit had the feel of SuperBike footage and the illusion you were getting your knee down in the corners 😂👌
i think the effect at altitude is personal. Did the telegraphe/galibier 2 months ago. got up it pretty "easy" no hard breathing but i had a rather high heart rate (maybe because i got my wisdom teeth removed 5 days or so before) 2 week afterwords i did a hard ride back home (sealevel) and i was breathing harder with a lower heart rate at sea level than with a high HR at altitude
@@jasperverkuijl no i dont. From the people i have heard it makes a difference in power Numbers. And i believe that but i think it also has a genetic role. If you compare 2 people who are Born and live on the same altitude and one Will be able to deal with it better. It also was a rather hot day when i rode the galibier it was like 20 c at the top. And 25 or so in the valley. So a Nice weather for good air. And i personnaly felt way better on the galibier than at home on the flats. Maybe its more a mental game, i am a light guy i am a good climber. So it was maybe because i was passing a lot of people that it felt better. I was passend by only one person but hè was flying. It is for me maybe a case of finding a rythm. How terrible it went and felt on the first 10 km of the galibier how good it want on the second part. And i think i can find a better rythm uphill than on the flats
Really great to share your experience on the Haute Route Jasper! Amazing road and landscapes!!! Looking forward to the next episode...and to have the chance to ride in the Dolomites once! Just one question, I've tryed to find you on strava but I could only find fake profils!!! How to find you? Tx again! Luc
The first group is fully protected for traffic, cars and motorcycles in front and behind. But on this race I was not with the lead group anymore so I was not protected by the convoy and had to ride through traffic.
@@jasperverkuijl wrong , Its a open traffic event , the lead group had the little advantage that the motorbikes organisation and (police) will ask the cars to slow down or to stop (on the side) for few minutes ,and that doesn't happen always .. but there is no moment in the race that you should use the left lane. As an example this year in Pyrenees we had a long neutralised convoy occupied all road but even so.. police was shouting to keep right always. .. Race rules also state that ! @CG

Congratulations! 25th is really good with all this climbing and the traffic jam.
Did the altitude influence your recovery time as well?
Yes surely it did. How much I don't know luckily the hotels were not that high on elevation. 👌
such a crazy place to ride!!
It's AMAZING!🔥
Excellent!!
dat alarm sound 😂
So awesome!Good luck with the next stage!

No just 1
Was that Tim Johnson in the beginning of the ride with Jasper?
Watch the whole thing again and you'll know!
242 avg… that is impressive at sea level, let alone altitude. Scenery looks beautiful
fantastic!
242 watts? That’s nothing, I can do that….
For like a minute 😂
You are a beast compadre

What is the set up you use for races like thid? 52/36 11-30t?
Yep
Awesome
Spends 10k on aero bike...
...they make you use a front facing number plate
Isn't that awesome!😂👌
